The VDV logi is especially painful when traversing uphill … but their heli, if used well omg are they a super aggressive faction, dropping in out of nowhere and building a HAB in your backyard LOL Keep an eye out for their heli, they can be countered effectively
I get the humor in it. But this actually played out in real life in Ukraine right at the beginning of the invasion. They got dropped in. Fought hard. Took their objectives (mostly) and then sat around desperately trying not to die because they have to have an air logistics corridor. Which is not easy to maintain. All these airborne units in the world have these really severe drawbacks
Some things of note i'd like to mention: Whilst the Ak12 iron sights are terrible, the vdv's pkm being un-magnified is an actual plus imo, with the ico screwing over most situations for scopes, being able to see your aimpoint with clarity without the scope sway that comes with a scope and being able to range the sight up to 800-meters helps with providing suppressive or even at times precision fire over distances. On another note, though the vdv is provided with a large amount of mechanized vehicles able to provide fire support or anti-tank capabilities, due to the nature of vdv being an airborne group and necessarily air transportable, all armored vehicles aside from the MBT are extremely susceptible to enemy anti-tank capabilities. these mechanized vehicles also come with the other downside of being tracked as unlike wheeled vehicles, once the vehicle is tracked it is immobile. therefore rather than a complete weakness against anti-air punishing supplies, the vdv is more rightfully evaluated as a unit weak to anti tank. also, the BMD-3 has a unique advantage of having its engine to the rear making itself hard to immobilize unlike other ifvs. otherwise, Nice vid Edit: most vehicles of the vdv are also vulnerable to 50.cal weaponry. when fighting vdv armored vehicles, it is possible for a 50.cal gunner to disable their turret from the front.
the thing that throws me off the current VDV is that they got the same uniforms/herlmet than normal RGF, and since the VDV always gets the more modern stuff irl, and the devs decided to extend the timeline of the game, I don't see why they don't change them a lil bit more
To be fair it is set to be 2000how ever i hesrd rumours they will be makinf evrrything more modern which is cool but rgf always has loads of new stuff too thwy sre mostly issued atm with 6b47s anyways
Bro look up vdv parades/combat footage from 22-24. There's dudes in old uniforms and I've seen more than a few akm in vdv hands. Not to mention if they give the vdv multicam it's going to be more tks than normal.
It is worth noting that the AK-12 ironsight is zoomed in way more than it should be in real life. The ironisght is also bugged and has the worst sway of any weapon in the game, akin to the FAL and G3 ironsights before they were tweaked.
As someone who loves grenades and would let a respectable grenade date their daughter, the VDV isn’t too special The RGO, while being neat in that it explodes on impact, is really a gimmick. You can’t bounce it off of walls, so you put yourself in more danger to throw it in certain scenarios. As well, I haven’t seen a scenario where a RGO would’ve been more effective than just a standard grenade. Their Grenadier kit is also a bit weakened. It doesn’t have a scope, which sucks for maps like Talil Outskirts, and it lacks colored smoke which can be useful for directing fire and having fun during backcap. Other than that they’re fine, aside from the shitters they call logis
really like that most of the time their bmd-4 ifvs are nice, one of the best with good autocannon and atgm. also do prefer ak12 over ak74 cause it has more firerate and that the 1p87 is nicer than the 1p63 (the triangle reticle one). RGO is a nice buff basically every infantryman is a grenadier now. though btr logis are slow you do get 3 alongside your helis and transport+rally tactics can also work nicely. the sprut is a really nice asset too that they get, its better than the stryker cause its got more sabot, atgm and i think more hp? If there was a tierlist S-F i would say mid A tier, would be better if they had brdms or btr80s
I haven’t played Squad in a while but one benefit I discovered is the VDV commander can call assets from logistics vehicles, thus not needing to go to a HAB.
The logi problem is also it´s strength. You need to setup one or more inbetween HABs closer to the frontline aprox. 1-1.5km, where armored vehicles can get repairs and that is going to get supplied by the helis. From there you bring the supplies with the armoured logi to the front line. -The Kord APC is the goat
I don't have a huge amount of experience playing this faction from a high level but the option to have a GL for squad leaders is awesome. One of my highest kill games was with that kit.

Vdv is mid somewhat good at best, main issues have been explained in the video but my experience with it comes down to, COC (squad leaders and commanders),use of armor, and logistics, thats only the beginning on top of the weapons, good in more mid to short range combat some what suffers in long range, mainly due to a lack of optics for rifleman, mgs and recons (the as vals) and logistics has a heavy reliance on helicopters rather than dedicated logistic trucks, and the armor especially on how its used in game is kinda shit due to a lot of squads not cooperating with infantry or the commander. Overall id give the vdv a 6/10 but if you have a good team and good communication itd be a 8.5/10.
400 of you get blowing up out of the sky before you even hit ejective just like real life vdv then you get pushed off your objective by a National Guard unit lol
Well, their firearms are shitty in-game. Both ASVAL and AK12 cant kill anybody, as well as cant hit as reliably, as many other rifles. Their BTRs tho - russ bias are in full power. They for some reason can barely be penned with 0.50 cal and do have very high speed as for tracked APC. And that always bugged me, because those are aluminium shitboxes irl - how come they are suddenly awesome? BMD4 is even worse in that regard - mega fast, mega durable and barely cooks off despite having stuffed in all the armaments possible. We have similar platform in a form of Chinese ZBD04, and that thing has a bit slower autoloader, a bit slower movement speed, and frequently catches fire from the first strong impact. But as you’ve pointed out, all this fancy shit crumbles, if you stay in fight for too long - those logis are probably even worse, than US ARMY’s. And good heli pilots is not a given.
@@RustyBear haha, it is a full AP loadout of LAV6 and the likes of it. The weirdest thing about VDV, is that infantry are supposed to be deadly in close engaments and have speedy, but poorly armored vics. In-game its almost vice versa - AK12/ASVAL cant kill as well as AK74/AKS-U, but BMD is fast and furious in addition to being very durable.

Default unit:

2x BTR 60
2x BMP-1
1x Bulsae-4 ATGM carriers
1x 323 Sinhung SPAAG
1x M-1978 SPAAG
1x Chunma-D
In addition to standard boats and logistics assets
Pros:
-Weapon Variety including older gen, newer gen and copies of BLUEFOR Alliance weapons like the CQ311 (a copy if the M16) and the copy of the K2
-Littoral capabilities with them having access ti their indigenously made copies of the PT-76
-Commanders can call in either a ballistic missile or an artillery strike
-Shock trooper roles are equipped with 5x Type 73 grenades
-3 available MBTS (2x Songunho -915s and 1x Chonmaho IV)
- The Songunho - 915 can fire ATGMs from it main gun
-2x anti air vehicles (323 Sinhung and M-1978) and their Chunma-D is fitted with a Soviet era Igla MANPAD
-Some of their structures (barricades and lookout posts) are significantly cheaper to build
-Their 323 Sinhung can be used as a Mobile Anti Tank Gun due to its gun being 103mm in calibre
Cons:
-Most are equipped with older generation armaments with few sight options
-Weaker MBTs compared to other factions
-Lack of Motorized infantry
-Even though having access to transport and logistics helicopters, it is hindered because of a lack of a digital HUD system
-Weakness in urban environments due to them not having any uniform for urban environments

1 to 3 people carry or lose this faction single handedly if your pilots can't do it then you've lost
The tracked logis are so annoying to use it is nice that you can use the turret but most of the time you never have an opportunity to use it
