  • Peptides for your skin are wonderful collagen boosters. They send signals to your dermis that help build protein, specifically the protein collagen.
    This serum was created in a double strength formula using a very popular active ingredient, Tripeptide-5.
    Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 is rated BEST on the Paula's Choice website, and for good reason.
    According to The Dermatology Review website, "Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 is made up of chains of amino acids, and has the ability to penetrate the epidermis and enter deep into the dermis, where it stimulates collagen production and healthy tissue growth. It not only speeds up collagen synthesis in the skin, but early studies suggest that this peptide also has the ability to communicate with skin cells and prevent toxins that penetrate them from doing harm."
    Typically this active ingredient is used at a 1-3% in formulas, I created a 6%, extra strength serum for quicker results.
    I will be pairing this serum with my weekly derma roller session (as shown in the thumbnail).
    Derma Rollers are great tools that also stimulate collagen and elastin production, and can be used all over the body.
    I truly hope you enjoy this simple tutorial.

    This product really needs a preservative since it contains water ingredients. Vitamin E oil is NOT a preservative. Its an antioxidant that can help to prolong the shelf life of oil-based products but should should never be used solely as a preservative in a water-based product.

    Making Cosmetics sells this ingredient too. Add hyaluronic acid for a packed serum.

      Thank you so much for this video! I'm a big DIY'er because I hate overpaying for things I can make myself. Do you know if this serum could work for hair growth or is that a different kind of copper peptide?

    you need preservatives when using water if you plan on using your creation more than a couple of days stored in the refrigerator. Rosemary and vitamin e are antioxidants not preservatives!

    • @alyshavigue
      @alyshavigue ปีที่แล้ว

      I read that products using vegetable glycerin as a preservative need it to be 55% of the product. Do you think that is true ? How would you preserve this in a natural but effective way ?

  • @mondowgirl

      Hi Flicker, does the serum work or the active ingredient? You can find more information about Tripeptide-5 at Paula's Choice (www.paulaschoice.com/ingredient-dictionary/skin-restoring/palmitoyl-tripeptide-5.html) or at the Truth in Aging website (www.truthinaging.com/review/peptides-what-are-they). Hope this is helpful!

    What's the desired pH for tripeptide5 to be the most active?

    • @wellagedbeauty6723
      @wellagedbeauty6723  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The same as skin and it's acid mantle, 4 - 5.5. Although, the manufacturer Safety Data Sheet, Fact Sheet, and Safety Analysis sheet does NOT indicate any PH level requirement for "most active" or best use of. I would always suggest when creating skin care products that may include ingredients over a 5.5 or under 4.0 PH be tested to ensure they do not harm your skin. I do hope this is helpful.

    • @amadablam7
      @amadablam7 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. It is interesting that tripeptide5 is acidic pH. But then I read matrixyl3000 is pH6. I thought all peptides would have the same pH. What is your stance on that?

    • @wellagedbeauty6723
      @wellagedbeauty6723  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      L C Matryixyl3000 is stated to have a ph level between 4.0-6. I suggest if you feel unsure and are concerned with PH levels that you do your OWN due diligence when creating skin care products. That, I would say, is my stance.
