I usually don’t comment under TH-cam videos but I felt this one was necessary. What Once Was is my favorite song of all time, and as of before last week, I could barely play guitar. Within only 2 days I got this song down, and it already sounds great. Thank you so much for this, I am beyond grateful!
I full heartedly agree (for me personally!) I‘m not huge on music theory and just need to know where the fingers go and what the picking pattern actually is. the amount of people doing tutorials who only focus on the left hand but never tell you what the picking pattern actually is is insane 😭😭😭 But I guess I can see that if you‘re more interested in music theory and can figure out picking patterns by yourself maybe Stuart isn‘t for you. For me though, best guitar teacher I‘ve found online so far!!

I get confused when describing the fingering like on the very first part, but I’m a rhythm player finally getting around to fingerpicking. Not sure why I struggle so much, but I just discovered this song and hoping it will be a good practice song since I really like the guitar part. Need to get my fingers practicing. Great lesson.

do you have any advice for how to position your hand? i don't have small hands by any means but i'm having a hard time with the beginning riff with being able to reach the D string with my ring finger. are there specific stretches i can do to help that part of my hand flexibility?
@@n0mudIf you’re still curious (I realize that this comment is a bit old) then I suggest practicing the spider method regularly to make stretches like that easier !
