I am from New Zealand I plan to come to Istanbul in April 2024. I think I really like Istanbul. I have a friend here in the states who makes a buying trip to Istanbul and other middle eastern cities to buy items for her store every year. It looks much safer there for Americans, instead of Afghanistan or Iran, for example.

Good advice for tourists. Definitely should stay on the main streets, especially if they are very clean-cut US citizens (white). Also, dress casual.
