II swear to GOD, MDS has the best drummers doing the best demos (and I ain't mad at any of the other shops' demo drummers, either) but particularly whenever Chrisopher Bounds is the drummer, I get locked in. Dude is nice!
The only complaint I ever had about my 1971 LM402 other than chrome pitting was the awful P85 throw off. I recently upgraded to the P88AC and it’s damn near a perfect snare now
LM402, Copperphonic, or Black beauty in no necessary order since I own & play all three. You have aluminum. Copper (somewhere between both), and black nickle plated brass. All 3 great!
@@regentsaquariums5692 I'm not wrong you could go and get a pearl aluminum snare for much cheaper and it will sound just as good if not better than the Ludwig. Ludwig has the reputation for being the best sounding snares in the world, add in the fact that Bonzo used an lm402, made in the USA, and seamless shell make it an expensive snare.
No wonder that is the most recorded snare. It sounds the best and the most versatile to my ears.
This snare sounds so great
This is my favourite drum video. Perfectly tuned snares
Sounds awesome! Just bought a mint Supraphonic from a nice dude locally here in the Milwaukee area. Such a killer snare. Thanks for this video!
Excellent demo, thanx! This is a legendary instrument for a reason. The low and mid sound are fantastic. Ang good playing that lets the drum shine.
Fabulous drum, and drummer.

Always my favorite aluminum sound
Brooks used the same one that Bonham used in the 1979 zeppelin album while recording half of A7X’s ‘The Stage’ Album
so...he did not used a DW?
Amazing snare drum!!!!

I want to buy a Supraphonic snare but which model ?
LM-402 / LM-402 (T) or LM-402K / (KT) or the Acrophonic ? 🙏 THANKS 🙏

EL REDOBLANTE
Why exactly are we paying aluminum 6.5inch for 700 dollars??
Because it's a Ludwig
@@QuickestQuickChop okay..

Pearl sensitone aluminum is more like the acro but sounds great and around 350. Ludwig is too over priced but still like this snare lol
@@Juniscrazy well pearl has made clones of both the supra and the acro and like i said they sound just as good as any other brand.
