Hi. Thanks for this video. You mention putting a 'no-collar' reso head on the Super-Sensitive. I've never heard of this, but I have that rattling problem with my bronze SS. Can you give more information on this type of snare-side head?
Hy, apparently, TH-cam decided to remove the link of the picture, which I posted here a couple of minutes ago. The No-Collar head is basically a regular Remo Ambassador Hazy but without a collar, so it's totally flat. Type in " Remo No-Collar" in Google and you will find some detailed pictures...
Hy. All vintage cymbals. In front of me : 18" Avedis Thin Crash ; Ride 22" Avedis Ping Ride ; Right Crash 20" Paiste Formula 602 Multi ; HiHat 14" Paiste 2002 SoundEdge
Klasse Vergleich - vielen Dank!
I've tried at least two dozen snares over my career. I finally settled on the same one that was on my first real set -- a 5" Supraphonic. It just works.
Wonderfully done and great audio, so nice job, thank you. I loved them all.
Thank you !
Hat mir gut gefallen 👍 toller Sound !!!

Fun fact : the original Ludwig resonant head which came with the SuSe, had no collar as well...
LM-400 is my favorite pic, that and a Black Beauty 6 1/2, maybe a nice wood snare, jazzfest or something then that’s all ya really need!! lol
True. I do have a Ludwig Standard wooden shell snare drum, which is basically a Jazzfest with different lugs and a different wrap.
BRILLIANT, Black Beauty it is For Me / Us. ThX
I am looking to buy a 1970-1980 blue and olive badge black beauty 6.5x14
Great video! What snare comparison would you recommend against the super sensitive Ludwig? Ty.
Would love to know what cymbals you’re using here - they sound awesome. Especially that crash!

Why do Ludwig snares sound so much better than anything else?

When Buddy Rich played Ludwig, his preference was the Supersentitive, in bronze as well..
Suppraphonic?
It’s Sooopraphonic
Enjoyed the video though
Glad that you like it.@@kevinegandrumsandmusic
