I have a British version. Rather a rounded bottom but was designed to be hung up. The canvas gets damp and the water evaporates. If hung in the shade, you get cool water on a hot summers day! Scouts knew how to survive back in the sixty's!
Hey brother, nice video discussion! In case you have not learned about it since making this, for longer term water storage they were soaked which would expand the fibers and then make them more waterproof but for quick use or transportation soaking is not necessary. World war guy at my local antique store there is a 0d 7 color water bag with a galvanized metal bottom with a yellow hemp rope handle is that ww2 or military in general and if it is can you tell me when it was used and its 48 dollars so if its ww2 should I get it because I have the money

Pretty good for 75 yr old canvas. I have a Kabar in a Boyt 43 stamped leather sheath.

cool. We have a CNR canvas bucket at our museum. Rope handle and one strap on the bottom instead of a criss cross as shown here

rod garage everyday if it is military, it’s probably from the 60s. Not worth $48
