I think we can all agree that Francis was the MVP of that movie, and he did not deserve the betrayal
He was there for her, that wasn't even right. Most shocking scene of the movie. Bratty kids will have to figure out for themselves what to do when they burn the whole earth up.

Stephanie took me by surprise how awesome film it is. The child actress carried half the film by herself. When you find out the truth, it is very close to the anime ELFEN LIED main character.

I love that in the anime the "tentacles" can be strong and grab or push things or be razor sharp weapons depending on how they're used. They could even use them like doc oc to get around. Damn I love that show.

The most interesting thing about this movie to me is how many people here agree with this being so similar to Elfen Lied, yet when looking up background information about it nothing about the anime comes up.. Apparently the script was adapted after receiving high votes and ranking 2nd on the 2012 Blood List (a list of horror scipts by professional authors without adaptations) with the tagline of: 'Psychological horror film described as “Paperhouse” meets “Carrie” that concerns a young girl whose strange powers seem to doom her to a world of lonely solitude.'
As soon as I heard tentacles I immediately thought of Elfen Lied
The anime is popular so probably one of the authors took inspiration from it

With me only listening and not watching while at work. "Dick head Rabbit don't deserve my tomato sauce anyway" caught me so off guard and made me audibly laugh loudly.
Would like to see a sequel where these children keep destroying themselves and the whole Earth until a few realize what is really happening create a kind of government for themselves and repopulate.
In that story I imagine the kids are glass cannons when faced with each other. And like Highlander, there'll only be one left at the end.

The last one might die of old age seeing they can take bullets to the head and still come back from it.

Finally kids started to noticed. You can see at the end that they are fingers or tentacles and Stephanie switch personalities like the nyu nyu girl in ELFEN LIED.

yeah, but also probably unable to create a functioning society: they will be a bunch of adults who never went through school, never had a working family and are used to using their powers against others or just outright kill them. So basically overpowered sociopaths
Why would they be? The thing inside of her is a monster from another dimension, not a genetic change. Also seems like it took over Stephanie at the end and isn't much interested in keeping anything around them alive or intact so won't be any future humans if it gets its way.
The future: The only surviving populace are angsty nihilistic depressives. But they can’t die. At least we don’t suffer from overcrowding, because by that point everyone hates everyone? Because noone has ever been able to trust. .. I’d watch that

This is the plot of Elfenlied, a bunch of drone children that would wipe out mankind.

could be an alien parasite or a demon possession, was barely under control until she would get scared, the parents should have explained things to her instead of trying to argue with each other for her to overhear, until the operation and after her death it took over completely is what I got out of it.

I think the parents just ran away out of fear and confusion after they realized she killed her brother. It doesn't seem like they were gone long enough to miss bills and get the power shut off and for all the food to run out.
The brother’s body wasn’t completely decomposing so they weren’t gone long.

My question is how are they going to eat if they run around destroying the world. That goes for the child in them and for whatever species they are. If they are going to destroy everything or destroying animals as well because if so there won't be anything for them to eat. I still want to check this movie out.

At age 7 I am self-sufficient too. I can cook, clean, wash dishes and my dirty clothes, I bathe myself, took care of my pet named Paw-Paw, he's a dog, which at that time he was half my size. RIP Paw 🙏
We had a garden in the backyard and front yard which was enough to make a decent meal. I used to take care of that garden if I'm left alone for days. We have chickens too, unfortunate at that age I still couldn't butcher a chicken, but they lay eggs which sufficed my morning break fast. Mind you cooking ain't in gas or electric and a fancy stove top, I had to make a fire out of woods on a man-made clay stove. Everytime were making meals we had to make a fire from scratch 😅 and our kitchen area was in the backyard was a makeshifts bare shed that collapsed whenever a heavy wind blew. And the roof were too old and rusty that when its raining, best believe you'll not gonna be able to cook in it. And I had to drag an almost 15 lbs man-made clay stove inside the house if I'm really that desperate to cook.
Washing doesn't mean running water from a faucet, We had "Poso Negro" or a cesspool, it's kinda like a septic tank, that we had to constantly pump its lever so that the water could rise up out of the hole and into our bucket. If you don't believe me, go ahead search it on google. That thing may look small but it is a tiring job, no one like to pump the Poso Negro especially since we are all kids and it took a lot of energy to fill a tub, and we had to fill about 3-4 tubs and maybe 5 buckets, contantly, like we can't stop until the last laundry was sure to be clean and the water wasn't forming bubbles when we try to wash the clothes. That's only for laundry. around 2 tubs and 2 buckets for washing the dishes. That thing made my biceps and triceps for sure!
There were a lot of times I was left by myself for days, sometimes for a week. I was trained to tend for myself, that means I had to mature early since. Why? Because we are poor, we still are but this time we have the longer end of the stick. I was raised by my grandparents who were farmers and fishermen, they had to leave so they can took care of the farm or go to the nearest dam to do fishing so we could live, my mom was in the city, busting her ass to make a living so that we can pay for the bills.
You may say this is impossible, but my memory serve me clear stories of how I survive by myself. I had to mature early and see the reality of life, and now that I'm an adult, I felt so tired, I've been tending for myself and others since I was 6 years old. That even a vacation doesn't seems to give enough rest and relaxation. That's the life of people in the third world countries in and below the poverty line. We always had the shorter end of the stick, despite that, we atill continue surviving, in hopes of one day we could finally say we are truly "living".
