  • Zinnias have a reputation for being a great beginner cut flower- easy to grow and very prolific- and I think that’s in part, why so many flower farmers are quick to write them off.
Well I’m here to tell you that as a flower farmer with 5 years experience under my belt- I honestly can’t ever seem to grow enough zinnias.
Believe it or not zinnias have become a garden staple for us here at Two Sisters Flower Farm.
In this video, I’m going to share not only what makes them the perfect cut flower for us, but I also want to help you grow your best crop ever and so I’ll be sharing my tips for growing them yourself.

Our flower shop in Clayton, MO. uses them this time of year as accents. Since they aren't shipped, they have to be driven in by the Amish. We sell them in mixed arrangements with all types of flowers, even delicate, expensive flowers, because the color and texture are fantastic this time of year mixed in with fall flowers and sunflowers.

I’ve really enjoyed your videos on cut flowers! I grew sunflowers for the first time this Summer, long story short, I fell in love. They were so beautiful that I began to sell them to local florists! What a hoot, now I am starting a small cut flower business. I’ve been researching and studying everything I can get my hands on, but your advice and experience is just the best! THANK YOU

Great videos! I love all of them! I will be starting a cut flower farm in zone 9a&9b soon. You plant an enormous amount of zinnias, do you start all from transplants or direct sow any? Thank you!

Hi!! Would you consider having a bed of flowers just to let go to seed? If you have time to collect the seeds after blooming ❤❤❤❤

Love this video! I couldn't really get any good height on my benary's blooms. When you very first pinch, is it the first blossom, before it opens, when the plant is still short, or you do pinch all the way down after it has fully opened, regardless of the plant size?
