Adult storks are fighting, sometimes very hard, for gaining a pair or, to simply win the nest if it is already a pair; in both cases the storklets are the poor victims. By killing them they insure theyr victory because the parents would be devastated and with less power to fight; if they was not killed already before theyr babies:(

I don't think she really wanted the nest, just jealous that she no longer gets feedings in a nest nor has one to call her own. She is a young adult stuck somewhere between too old to be taken care of and too young to take care of her own. Kind of like a confused hormonal teenager, late teens.

How was this video taken, the person taking the video surely that person can intervene and stop these brutal attacks. Although in saying you can protect them all, but if you can see it happening then sure something can be done to protect them.
@@Rantsack in almost all bird species the parents take it in turns though. One parent will look for food and one will stay at the nest. Then when a parent looking for food returns, they will swap with the other parent and then stay to watch the nest while the other can now go get food.

A Raven killed a Dove in my backyard. The mate stood next to it while the Raven screeched. Then he stepped on top of the dead Dove and flew away with it's body. I recorded it, he wouldn't leave his mate behind. I was outside, and it only took me 20 seconds to go in, I looked out my window and saw him fly away. He was so brave! Broke my heart. 💔

Its not sympathy but rather them failing at the one job they have wich is to reproduce. Swans have it so strongly they will dive into rocks head first if their mate is lost. I saw a swan being ran over by a police car for no reason other than for the police to turn around cause they drove into a dead end. The other swan sat for some hours and less than a day later true enough the other swan was smushed out on the side walk from diving straight into it. Penguins will loose motivation to live as well if they loose a partner snd theres no new ones available. Birds can be loving creatures but its not at all the same way that mammals have it. Parrots will only bond with a single person. Ravens will only bond with a single person. Why? Cause once they are open to a relationship with another bird (or in this case human) they will still be hardwired to only have one for life and will be extremely jealous if you show anything else love and attention. Birds are first and foremost dinosaurs before they are reptiles and dinosaurs were likely caring parents in many many species just that once they flew among mammals they couldnt afford it anymore as well as ither birds flying around being threats
The issue is the bird is trying to kill these offspring so it can nest. This not a parenting bird of these offspring. The parents often hunt in pairs, leave the nest unattended especially after the offspring become so big.

I recorded it, he wouldn't leave his mate behind. I was outside, and it only took me 20 seconds to go in, I looked out my window and saw him fly away. He was so brave! Broke my heart. 💔
@@ginac733 alot of birds nest for life and if their mate dies thats it. No more children ever essentially making them lose their will to live. Its not sympathy but rather them failing at the one job they have wich is to reproduce. Swans have it so strongly they will dive into rocks head first if their mate is lost. I saw a swan being ran over by a police car for no reason other than for the police to turn around cause they drove into a dead end. The other swan sat for some hours and less than a day later true enough the other swan was smushed out on the side walk from diving straight into it.
Penguins will loose motivation to live as well if they loose a partner snd theres no new ones available. Birds can be loving creatures but its not at all the same way that mammals have it. Parrots will only bond with a single person. Ravens will only bond with a single person. Why? Cause once they are open to a relationship with another bird (or in this case human) they will still be hardwired to only have one for life and will be extremely jealous if you show anything else love and attention. Birds are first and foremost dinosaurs before they are reptiles and dinosaurs were likely caring parents in many many species just that once they flew among mammals they couldnt afford it anymore as well as ither birds flying around being threats
The issue is the bird is trying to kill these offspring so it can nest. This not a parenting bird of these offspring. The parents often hunt in pairs, leave the nest unattended especially after the offspring become so big.
