    If storks become extinct, do not blame humans.

    It's called brood reduction and happens when there is a food shortage.

      Correct about what it’s called. But food has nothing to do with it

    That’s not a parent stork. It’s a female intruder emptying the nest so she can gave it.

    Is this the way they weed out the sick and the smallest ones?

    • @space.invaders
      @space.invaders  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Kind of. Some stork parents can only handle a couple chicks while other parents can handle many. Some parents are good parents and some are just plain horrible. The chicks are not sick, the parent on the other hand......

      @@space.invaders it’s not “good” or “bad” parents. That’s anthropomorphizing an animal- giving it human traits. Storklets are not aggressive like other birds (eagles, for ex.). They will not kill a weak nest mate. It’s usually the male parent that kills unnecessary young. Too little food, too many storklets, etc can lead to infanticide. In some cases, you see a female who did not lay a clutch attack and empty a nest. Other times, a partner may have disappeared, and chick raising becomes intolerable. Then the remaining partner will clear, and leave, the nest.
      Humans have the ability to make choices that are not driven by nature. They can be good or bad parents. Birds are simply parents-not good or bad.

    If I had to constantly hear that shrill sound that the storklets are making i would want to cull the herd also. JFC, this video is only 5:10 long but that sound gets so godddamn annoying. I don't blame the mom in end. It's as if your child is listening to the same Disney song for the 50th time on repeat, it would drive anyone to the point of insanity.

    • @Nadia..J
      @Nadia..J ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because they are nasty, evil, cruel birds. They don't just kill, they antagonise and torture the chick/chicks.

    • @rudolfogarcia825

      It's called brood reductions. The stork lays more than enough eggs, just in case one or two don't make it. In the case that they all survive, there is usually a food shortage, so instead of having all the chicks starve, they kill off the smallest for the rest.
      This is not cruel since animals are not governed by the same morals as us. When those chicks grow up, they will be torturing and killing the chicks of other nests and birds in the same manner. Don't feel sorry for what is meant to happen, it's nature.

      Something wrong in their head. Most all birds are sick and twisted. It's not just birds of prey that kill other birds, most all birds will kill the chicks of other birds. The nest is a very, very dangerous place.
