Today Joe and Brian go over the Sonic series. Between the ups and the many downs that the series has had, they try to piece together where each game falls in the timeline.

Dang. That's unfortunate, i do think you touched on the bad games more than the good games. Sonic Colors was more geared towards children, but it was actually pretty good in comparison. They took all the good levels of sonic unleashed and basically placed them there

The Werehog is not "Terrible" in Sonic Unleashed it's just too long compared to the Day time stages.

I believe in Sonic Forces and Mania.
I believed in Forces too, until I played the game.
I like how they skipped over colors and Generations by barely talking about them... : /

Unleashed was better (you
said it in the video), so was colors and generations without a doubt. Lost World was also great (and I won't let anyone tell me otherwise).
Then Sonic Boom comes along and you say "How could they make a game worse then the one they made before and not learn from the mistakes that they made with 06?"
Well that's because the team that made Sonic Boom DIDNT make the mistake of 06. The regular Sonic Team made 06.

OMG YES! Someone with common sense! they were scooting all the better games aside in a rush to make their point that Sonic 06 was the game that created this huge hole that they couldn't get out, but in reality they were already out of it by the next two games.

Not just rushed, but it had some legitimately bad choices made in terms of story, setting, pacing, and gameplay. Who even likes the concept of the guard minigame-thing, or that stupid ball puzzle??? And Silver... poor Silver was so gimped that he was just destined to suck.

But... Sonic did get better and Boom wasn't even that bad... The comedy in this video felt too forced and fast.

I agree, except Colors and Generations were great, but Lost World sucked major ass. It was basically a ripoff of Mario Galaxy done horribly wrong. Btw, my favorite 3D Sonic games are Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.

IKR C Just because something is for children doesn't give it a pass for being terrible. The reason it was terrible is because they had to port the game to the Wii U and had to rework almost everything since the Wii U couldn't handle what they had created previously because of the engine it was running on. That coupled with time constraints lead to an awful, rushed, buggy, and un-fun experience that no one should bother with.

I think Sega needs to learn a lesson from Nintendo.
Delay games for better games. Not speed them up and ruin them.
This is why I really want them to remake it, if they remade it, upscaled the graphics a _tiny_ bit, and fixed up most of the glitches and controls, it could actually be pretty decent.

While this was an interesting video, I don't think it really had anything to do with the "logic" in the series, more like "SEGA LOGIC".. :P
Am I the only one who enjoyed the night levels and didn't like the day levels in unleashed?

How fast something falls isn't because of it's weight but how much air it catches and how aerodynamic it is

Sonic Unleashed wasn't unplayable. The only part that was anywhere close to "unplayable" was the Xbox version's plane sections. Otherwise, the Werehog was just fine. Sonic and the Black Night was also definitely an improvement over Secret Rings - you at least weren't falling off of literally everything.

I happend to enjoy the sonic unleashed game it was fun to me to be able to change from sonic to a werewolf-type sonic. But in the end it's all about oppinion so oh well.

I love how you spend 2:10 seconds on sonic 06, because the game actually supports your case, but then you spend exactly 3 seconds on generations, as it’s an actually good game. It’s fine to hate a franchise, but when your basis are so ridiculously stupid that you have to go out of your way to ignore all possible counter arguments, then you know you have a problem. I can wholeheartedly agree that really good sonic games are rare, but that was just unjustified.
Sonic and the Black Knight isn't a bad game at all. It was actually one of my first Sonic games and I absolutely loved it. This was before I got the Sonic's Genesis Collection on the Xbox 360 and Sonic Generations on both the 360 and the 3DS. I prefer the Xbox 360 version. and Sonic Boom Fire and Ice isn't that bad.

In my eyes when Sonic is bad its terrible (Rise of lyric, 06, Labryth) but when its good its legendary (Adventure 2, Colors, and Battle [Gamboy Advance]).
The Series isn't afread to get dark when it can (Shadows backstory, and Black Knights message on death/loss).
So I respect it. Love the good. Laugh at the bad.
I don't know how Sonic can have a Rival that's an overly edgy 50-year old hedgehog that love guns
I actually enjoyed shadow the hedgehog and 06 (a little) boom sonic was meh but honestly I don’t really think sega and sonic team are failing that bad they are just rushing too much and just trying to do their best to live up to expectations of their fans.
I like the sonic and shadow stages in sonic adventure 2, shadow the hedgehog is good, sonic unleashed is great it's just the werehog levels can be kinda annoying at times, and I really liked sonic and the black night, and sonic heroes was great too just some of the levels were annoying

0'6 wasn't all that bad. It was rushed, like he said, the glitches were actually fun and funnier to watch *cough, cough, GameGrumps* , and the literal only thing I would change is the story.
If you have a good pc, you should download sonic P 06. Pretty much a fan made remake that fixes the glitches and basically made it into what is would’ve been if they hadn’t rushed it. I agree so much with you, it’s just become popular to hate sonic 06 these days. Only thing I would do is remove Elise from the story and give the sonic team time to finish the game, instead of sega rushing them like crazy

This is a hot take, but I think the warehog stages were good. Yes, the levels were unbearably long. But, if you ignore that, you might think the levels are good. In my opinion, if they made the levels half the length they were, the warehog stage would be even better.

Hey, "Sonic the Fighters" / "Sonic Championship" is a pretty good game. Plus, it inspired most of Sonic's Smash Bros. moveset. If you wanted another misstep from that era, you should've mentioned "Sonic 3D Blast" instead.

Nope, me and many other people are the same. In fact sonic unleashed is my favorite game period, and while I enjoyed the day time levels much more, the night time ones were fun and a good change from the speed
