YES I want to know everything about the audiobook journey! 80% of the books I read are audiobooks, so I'd really appreciate a look behind the scenes :)

I really appreciate your point about most self help books giving advice in a vacuum, as if the individual acts alone and is the only thing that matters. I live in the States, and often think about how self help advice in general acts as of there's no white supremacy, misogyny, homophobia, ableism, eco-anxiety, or anything else but your own attitude getting in the way of you living your "best life."
I flick through lots of the self help books in train stations, specifically the ones about becoming rich enough to retire at 45 and they seem so unrealistic to me! Maybe I need to engage more with them but feel like they make a lot of assumptions about readers’ lives and come from a big place of privilege or luck
Years ago, I worked for a micro-book publisher who was based in UK doing book cover design. I remember that I was not to talk directly with the author (even though I knew a couple of them) about the cover, but only with the publisher. I wasn't even to read the book, but make the design based only on the notes that I was sent. I didn't know why until now!

I am at the end of my PhD. Hopefully (😑) handing it in November but my supervisors keep moving the goal post. I am without a partner, without a new job, and over-qualified for most things except 2 year temporary contracts. Having to spend the rest of my life applying for grant money to have a job for another year. Until they terminate my contract so they don't have to hire me properly!! I need this book so badly 😂😂😂😂

I can't, I can't, and I live on the other side of the rock and should pick myself up and do something, but everything seems meaningless and I feel so powerless and no books at all explore how to exist in a world like the one we are right now. Pre-order is not as, or at all, helpful in South African publishing. It also creates a lot of headaches for our local publishers as the need from readers is legitimate, but the bookselling system is set-up around publication dates.

Look into the infobox under the video. There is a link to a website listing bookshops. At the end of the list there are bookshops that are shipping worldwide. You can also go to your favorite indie bookshop in your city and give them the isbn of the book, most shops are able to find a way to order with that.
I clicked on the preorder link and found I can buy it through amazon. I love your content but I'm confused as you did a whole video about amazon ruining the book industry. But you are selling through them? (Cant convey tone, not accusing you, more curious how your mindset has changed and why)
I can’t control where it’s sold sadly, it has to be available everywhere - that’s all publisher’s rules (from large to very small independents) but also I think maybe illegal in the UK to withhold sale of books to retailers?! Don’t quote me on that. My mindset is identical but the reality is it’s not my decision.

Doing things half assed is a fairly common piece of advice in the chronic illness sphere. If I did things 100% I wouldn't do most things
