    Speaking of Raytracing, have you seen Radiance Cascades? Its a new 2D and 3D lighting technique by the Path of Exile graphics lead.
    It uses a hierarchical structure of probes which have differing amounts of spatial/angular resolution (probes vs ray count) to satisfy the properties of penumbras. The closer to a light source higher spatial res, further from aource higher angular res. Its very intuitive.

    The power of Free and Open Source. The Godot game engine seems to be going this way of Blender as well.

    • @nosirve9458

      Free and Open source doesn't give power. People who contribute to the code, or donate, give power.

    • @GodotNoContext
      @GodotNoContext หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly, Godot *seems* to be going this way, but Godot is certainly *not* the Blender of game engines. Just because Godot fans frequently attempt to cling to the success of Blender, this doesn't make and will not make Godot successful. Godot is run by incompetent leadership who alienates professional game developers. The concept of Godot being the “Blender of Game Engines” originates from a catchphrase masterfully devised by Godot’s leadership, encouraging devoted Godot fans to propagate the message. Yet merely presenting Godot in the light of Blender does not make it so.

    • @Firgof
      @Firgof หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yep, certainly is. Ignore trolls who literally make money manufacturing dissent who run channels which exist only to generate ennui instead of useful critique. Not to say it won't be a long and difficult road for Godot, as it was for Blender. We're still definitely in the 'starship interface' era of Blender for comparison; the engine's still fairly jank in some respects and some parts are well-developed and detailed while others are far more simplistic and/or experimental. It's not a 'mature' engine yet -- but every new version it seems to be pulling itself towards that.

    • @nosirve9458
      @nosirve9458 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yup, I would say Blender is really good for small studios/hobbyists and stylized movies, etc; it's a powerfull software, but it needs works specially on uv's, cycles, and geometry nodes. In texturing I wound't even try, susbtance painter or mari are already too good on that. @@Firgof

    • @GodotNoContext
      @GodotNoContext หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Firgof The inability to accept criticism is another serious issue that prevents Godot from becoming successful. That includes labeling critics of Godot as trolls. Godot is literally more than 20 years old if you look at its closed-source history. Simply believing in success doesn't make Godot successful. Godot's leadership has created an environment where dissent is not tolerated, and its community is conditioned to attack critics. Multiple former maintainers, contributors, and long-term users of Godot confirm these findings. You state that it seems every new version is pulling itself towards becoming a 'mature' engine. But have you ever tried to use Godot in production yourself? Have you tried Godot's built-in physics in 4.0? Have you experienced numerous rendering artifacts, including those on mobile devices? If not, then I must tell you that what you see on the surface is mostly a façade.

      That's because of the changes. No changes - no addons would be broken. But no new features would be added.
      If you are annoyed at that - use LTS version of Blender ;-)

    @TwoMinutesPaper Karoly blender can currently do 3d modelling , animation and simulation. But there is too many ai tools that can do 3d modelling , and some motions by itself on text prompt arrived. is it worth to learn blender.

      Google "how Open Source projects survive".
      Lon story short: they have donations and a lot of big sponsors.
      Those sponsors use Blender for their work so they need those improvements.
