Hopefully they make a Resident Evil 2 HD and Resident Evil 3 HD. I got Revelations for PS3 and I got to say it's better than RE6 and RE5. My favorite is RE3. They should do a RE Trilogy HD for PS4 and Xbox 1.
Completely agreed, dude. I absolutely can NOT wrap my head around the level of needless bitching about this from certain gibbering morons. It's just an HD facelift of a remake you *already like* - what's the problem, here? As an aside? I'd be more interested in an HD Remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis than 2, personally. Think about it: Tank controls aside, RE2 has held up remarkably well. Especially the higher-def versions on N64 and Gamecube. You'd basically just be polishing up some textures. RE3, though? While it's a great game, it had some gameplay issues, some sections that could have been tightened up a bit... I think the opportunity to remake a game with issues... into a 5-star classic is there.
Matthew J. Boone The fixed camera angles I think allowed them to make shit a lot more scary since it became more cinematic like a movie. You weren't always sure if you were alone and what was around the corner.

I would LOVE a Resident Evil 2 remake. It was my favourite in the series because you were actually in Raccoon City and got to see events on, what felt like, a much larger scale. The thought of a remake - using today's lighting and particle effects, voice acting, sound design and so on - gets me foaming at the mouth with excitement! :D

I was 12 when the REmake originally released, and I was so mad I only had a PS2 lol. I wound up getting a Gamecube specifically for the REmake years later and I have to say, still the scariest game I've ever played. This coming from someone who's played The Evil Within, Outlast, and most other horror games that have released recently. I'm beyond excited for this, and am totally getting it on steam when it releases. Great video, man - I (obviously) completely agree with your opinion. Should have been done ages ago.
You'll definitely enjoy it I've started from the very beginning since it first came out and when the remade or on the game cube and added some more features I jumped for joy ooo and the crimson heads scared the fuck out of me but I still played
the kids nowadays need to know what a scary game actually is; what it feels like when your helpless, limited on ammo, limited on saves and health. theres not a lot of zombies in one area but they still have the capabilities to fuck you up if you dont manage ammo and health. its a true survival game that scares you even with the environment; giving a fixed angle where you have no clue whats behind the next corner or whats down a flight of stairs. countless moments of "fuck that" or "no way in hell im going in there" or "OH SHIT DOGS CAME THROUGH THE WINDOW!". no mini map that shows where monsters are or auto lock on ability. your in a confined space of narrow hallways and corridors from the mansion and typewriters are a godsend. people who bitch about this remake finally coming to next gen consoles can fuck off. or would you rather want them to go and make a "RE6: more explosions and zombie t-rex edition" game?

I specifically said "kids need to know" and i was referring to the experiences of younger audiences when the game first game came out, not everyone, so instead of rolling your eyes your should try using them to read better. i never disagreed on the bad control setup, but they are giving both options in the hd version so you got less to bitch about.
gamemastermatt It just annoys me when someone says "Kids these days don't know what hard is" especially when naming Resident Evil of all games which is mostly hard cuz of the awkward control scheme....if someone names Contra instead I would understand cuz that game has good controls and is hard at the same time...but Resident Evil? No...just no I'll probably give the PS3 version a shot when it comes out...if it will have new controls...cuz I absolutely hate those awkward tank controls...they make navigating the game extremely frustrating...how Resident Evil got away with it back in the day I'll never know...other games with terrible controls got bashed by reviewers at the time but not Resident Evil There's no excuse for these kind of controls...they don't make the game scarier either...just frustrating as hell

Don't forget about the unlockable costumes from Resident Evil Remake....that probably have to be unlocked with your money in the remastered version. :l
People who are reading my comments, if you haven't played the remake of RE, you're in for a big show because this is a game that really scared me... even more than RE4. But as a game, it is THAT good. I'm actually sad the remake didn't get more exposure, this is probably the best game by Shinji Mikami. If you never played it... when it's out, go buy it! If you can't wait, buy a Gamecube or a Wii and try to pick it up... or just find the Archives Edition if you got a Wii U. And yes, it MUST be on the Wii U because having the map on the GamePad would be amazing... If there's one game per franchise you need to play, REbirth is THE Resident Evil game. Yes, the second is good but the REbirth is everything you need... but better. Oh and I want Chris and Jill's heads to be cut off by the Hunters like we see in the good old ads.
I do imagine how it would have been to navigate the inventory in real time... and if you don't pay attention, then you get slaughtered by a Hunter... It would be like "holy shit"! It would add so much to the already amazing atmosphere. RE4 is good but the TPS mechanics have been improved, just look at Vanquish (also directed by Shinji Mikami). I'm not sure if I'll buy it just for the sake of seeing the final results but REbirth (I prefer calling it REbirth), even if it's recently because of Revelations, had such a strong impact on me as a gamer and when I heard it was on the Gamecube, I was like... this is from the console that gave me Metroid Prime (aka my favorite game of all time)? But yeah, I totally agree: REbirth aged so well in terms of visual (and sound) and giving the options for the controls will help the new comers... plus giving the old-school tank controls (and I'll use the tank controls) is indeed something the fans will enjoy. I can't wait to see Yawn, the spiders and, of course, Lisa Trevor.
What I mean is before I actually play REbirth, I didn't know it was on the Gamecube and I was lucky enough to buy it alongside RE4 (also on GC)... and yes, I wish it would be on the Wii U but we never know. We have better ideas than everyone else in the business for the Wii U...
We're probably the same age but I wasn't too sure about horror until I turn 20... even if I saw the goriest of Phantasmagoria and snippets from Gabriel Knight so yeah, I've a little backlog on horror games. And I'm 25. I didn't have a chance to play SotD but I'll try to find it but I understand why Vanquish is not long: it's an arcade game... but it plays so well and it's so polished in... every detail. Okay, now I want to play REbirth. :-)

it was meh since i played the original one on the ps1. most of it are basically the same, the only thing they change is how the story structed and they added Lisa Trevor but the rest of it were basically the exact same thing even the jump scares were at the same exact place as the original.

No I don't think PS3/360 games need an HD-Remake, and I am borderline on the gen previous to that. Obviously it does have a remake for gamecube as stated, but originally its a PS1 game. And if you do Nintendo shopping in general you know they just LOVE to keep their games as high as price as possible. Honestly this HD remake is only about $15 -20 more to buy than a complete copy of the Gamecube version, and looks astoundingly better.

Myself, I would like to see a RE trilogy game. My fave game was always RE 3 because of how scared it would make me with the nemesis, though I still loved the first 2 games as well. At least I'll be happy with this remake! Lol
I think this was well needed. This has always been one of my favorite resident evils, in fact, this was how I became introduced to the first one. Before it I had only played re2 and 3. But this game, as a kid, terrified me! But I loved it! I am totally looking forward to this port, although, like you, I'd love to have a physical copy of it. Great video!

The Evil Within has Shinji Mikami working on it, almost eveything he does is enjoyable at the very least. The remake, RE2 and RE4 are his best, other games like god hand and vanquish are flawed but VERY enoyable. You have nothing to worry about.
Don't worry Shinji Mikami is the god father of survival horror and a damn good producer, you have nothing to worry about. Although I would advice people not to do into the evil Within expecting an old skool Resident Evil feel because this will be completely different, but a very good survival horror experience by the looks of it. Anything by Shinji Mikami and Suda 51 will always be amazing (I know Suda 51 has nothing to do with the topic but I just thought I would throw that part in)

i am a RE fan since the first game in 1996 and i love this series to death and this remaster made me happy because there are quite some people didn't own the GC which is a shame cuz the system is amazing ,, i bought it just for the RE series since i knew after Zero and the remake the 4th game will be also on the GC ( after that i knew games on the system that changed my life like Tales of Symphonia
I'm not really happy about this. I am happy that they are re-releasing this so I can once again tremble in the hallways, but, RE2 is what most of us - in terms of remaking and re-releasing - is what we were looking for. We need RE2 remake.
They're probably using this to test the waters. If they decide to, they can see how to use the tech properly and what people want in a remake. My theory anyway.

I agree I would like RE2, RE3 and RE4 remakes as well. But this move from Capcom is to call fans bluff. If the sale of this game don't meet expectations future RE games are going to continue the action oriented RE. So fans are going to have to choose to call their bluff or not.

I want a damn remake of SILENT HILL! It has been 15 years and there has NEVER been a remake of any of the games in the series. Come on KONAMI get with it. Also I will be happy if they start actually making remakes of the old games and not just remasters or HD collections because I don't really care about that. I want to see the horror games I loved as a kid remade with the new graphics, motion abilities, larger worlds, more story... basically all the things the older consoles could not do because they literally could not handle it.

I am very excited about this. The game was a commercial failure because it was only released on gamecube. Neither Capcom, nor Nintendo had a benefit out of this contract. I even go so far to say the game would have been a gigantic success without Nintendo. It's Nintendo's fault that a whole generation of games doesn't even know it exists. Now everyone on this planet will be able to experience the game, which Nintendo Exclusivity ruined for them in the first place.

The same exact bloody game that was released on the cube but in "Durpdy durp high resolution prestine HD' Yeah.....couldn't care less, unless there's new additional gameplay, elements and unique control schemes(ect) thrown into the mix ala Wind Waker HD for the Wii U. Otherwise, meh. I don't care about playing the same exact game all over again in higher resolution. I've already beaten it twice, and the PS1 original 4 times(which i enjoyed much more) don't want to go through the remake again....Besides i don't plan on getting a PS4 or XBOX1 so i'm screwed anyways

You want better graphics, 60 FPS, Ambient Occlusion,Anti-Aliasing, Multiple resolutions not to mention the price WILL be less on steam. Better off with the PC version. I gave up console gaming because of 1 reasons. The cost of games.I would buy a game for my 360 for 60 dollars only to see it on steam for 20 2 months later.

Japan got a physical copy and even a sweet ass limited addition that came with a blood pool shaped pillow....fucking metal. What did we get? A dinky digital download. Bullshit.

RE remake is a testament to how remakes should be made. It was the first RE game I ever played and it scared the living fucking shit out of me. Especially the cover art on the back of the case. Also I too was the only one in my group of friends who had a GameCube.
Unfortunately it's fucking lazy from what I've seen. It's exactly the same as the GameCube game, from the screens I've seen playing the GC one on Dolphin can sometimes even look better. There's a thread on neogaf with a lot of information. They could have have better rendered backgrounds and shit like that but no, it's as lazy as it can be. Not exciting as it was when we got the REmake back on the GC.
This is my favorite game of all time. An absolute masterpiece and beautiful work of art. Finally it might get the recognition it deserves. I've played through it close to a dozen times over the past twelve years and I'm still going to download this remastered version day one.

When I saw this announcement I was so excited. I was one of the lucky few that had a Gamecube and bought the Resident Evil Remake, so I am completely with you on this being a remake that DESERVES attention. I only hope that after its release that they consider the same treatment for Resident Evil Zero. That one needs the love and exposure it deserves.

I couldn't get the original series on PS1 but the remake was the reason I got a gamecube just for for it. It is still hooked on my tv and I occasionally play the games just for the nostalgia. Since, I moved on to PC gaming and the idea of getting and updated version makes me quite happy.
as somebody who had an N64 instead of an original Playstation and skipped the following generation of consoles this is right up the only RE game I have not played, I've finished all the other main resident evil games from 2-6, with RE3 I played at a friends house, so while I find it funny that they will HD-up the GC remake instead of making a complete remake this is right up my alley, I really want to play this HD re-release
I agree with everything this guy says. I remember the first time my eyes laid on biohazard for the PS (rectangle console) I was scare to play it. I would only play not passed the dogs breaking the windows and only then I would turn off the console and play gex (demo version) because I would shit my pants. I agree that same feeling capcom is trying to pull on the new generation of gamers. In my opinion it is a brilliant tactic. Real RE fans and original owners of the first gen ps console should feel honored for this. My girlfriend still plays that game for the psx and keeps dying while her Xbox one is collecting dust, can you imagine if that game comes for newer consoles? The idiots ranting for something such as "remake" or a cash in are idiots who do not know any history of the game and you can notice them from 4 miles away. Resident evil is pure masterpiece and is a legend for LIFE. Althought lately the dynamics have changed to a more of an action theme, I hope RE7 goes back to its core that made them awesome.

Day 1, REmake cube release owner here, and I agree it is a very underrated game. Glad to see that it is going on current gen as well as next gen. I will try to move funds around to make sure I can get this. (and Tank controls for the win!)
This is awesome news!! I remember the first resident evil game i ever played back in middle school was the 3rd one and since that game i fell in love with the series. I really hope this is successful so that hopefully one day we can see resident evil 2 and 3 remade.

I am so excited for this. The REmake was such an amazing game and I would LOVE to see a possible RE 2 remake as well. Especially if they added some of the great new story elements like the Lisa Trevor sub plot from the first one, which served very well in adding an even more sinister level to Umbrella.
I am super excited! And I am sure they will release it for 360 and PS3 for marketplace at the least! But I think they are re-releasing Resident Evil remake to see if there is anymore classic Resident Evil fans. Because remember Capcom said "Our classic fan base don't play games anymore". I'm excited Alpha. I remember Resident Evil 1 Remake being one of the first games I've ever owned on the game cube and that was my 2nd console. I started off on the N64 and had RE2 and always have had a soft spot for it. But RE4 was the first one I actual played all the way through on the Game Cube and beat as well as understood. I was about 8 or 12 when I first beat it properly and same goes for RE1, RE2, RE CV (fucking nightmare) and of coarse Resident Evil 6 (not my favorite) I want this and thankfully we might get RE2 Remastere. That's all... ~bro7 out~

AlphaOmegaSin, Brother! You really are speaking my language! When it comes to "The Classic" generation of Resident Evil, the essentials (0-3) were the true definition of Survival Horror. I grew up as a kid playing RE2 on the N64 and that game was ported through cross consoles Lord knows how many times. Lol I'm looking forward to play this game for the 100th time because I love the gesture that Capcom is doing, listening for a change. If there is one annoying factor about Capcom that has left my relationship with them on thin ice for a very long time, it's their lack of presentation and effort on their products. When RE5 first was released, I bought the collector's edition hoping to find a killer Chris Redfield figure...only to be saddened by the poorly cheap plastic figure that was inside!!! Same happened with ORC, I was devastated of the poor storyline of a sorry excuse of a Resident Evil game. It broke my heart of such a good potential of a game that went to waste. Capcom with this gesture may bring warmth in my heart to love them again. All I ask now is to remake RE2 & RE3. I'll settle for an HD version too. 🎮❗️
I started playing the RE games in 2011, and I'm very used to modern controls.... BUT... When playing the RE Remake I chose to play the original tank controls, and I gotta say they feel better than the new control scheme for some reason for me :D

I absolutely agree that Capcom is testing the waters with this release and I believe that Capcom saw better sales with Resident Evil 4 compared to the remake at the time of their respective releases. I think that was the reason we saw Resident Evil 5 and 6 as the type of games they were. I've talked with a few people who recall that Resident Evil 4 was their first Resident Evil game, and that they only later played any of the earlier games from the series after playing 4. I'm hopeful that if sales are positive for this re-release, we may yet see a return to the original survival horror game play and possibly, with some luck, a remake of Resident Evil 2.
***** Don't think that I could agree with you more on this. I am a huge fan of the original RE (guilty pleasure I guess. I've played through it at least 30 times (and I'm not bragging. I really have.)). The REmake, blew my mind. It managed to capture the full essence of the original game, while at the same time adding tons of new content, and upping the scare factor. I also agree with you about the "tank" controls. I hate hearing people bitch about it. Once you get used to it, it's actually intuitive. One thing they don't realize about it when they tout RE4, is that RE4 has "tank" controls too. The camera is simply moved to over the shoulder. This is totally awesome, I have been wanting Capcom to bring out an updated version of Resident Evil (since the GameCube remake) to another more current system. Also thanks AlphaOmegaSin for talking about this otherwise I would have been in the dark about the release.
Few months before they announced the RE Remake HD was announced i introduced the RE Remake to 3 of my friends and they played the game half way and REALLY loved it! Now they can buy it on the PS4 and finish the game when it is released.

As an aside? I'd be more interested in an HD Remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis than 2, personally. Think about it: Tank controls aside, RE2 has held up remarkably well. Especially the higher-def versions on N64 and Gamecube. You'd basically just be polishing up some textures. RE3, though? While it's a great game, it had some gameplay issues, some sections that could have been tightened up a bit... I think the opportunity to remake a game with issues... into a 5-star classic is there.
I hope Capcom is testing the waters, so that if this sells well, which it will, maybe... just MAYBE, we might see REmake 2.

I would LOVE a Resident Evil 2 remake. It was my favourite in the series because you were actually in Raccoon City and got to see events on, what felt like, a much larger scale. The thought of a remake - using today's lighting and particle effects, voice acting, sound design and so on - gets me foaming at the mouth with excitement! :D

I was 12 when the REmake originally released, and I was so mad I only had a PS2 lol. I wound up getting a Gamecube specifically for the REmake years later and I have to say, still the scariest game I've ever played. This coming from someone who's played The Evil Within, Outlast, and most other horror games that have released recently. I'm beyond excited for this, and am totally getting it on steam when it releases. Great video, man - I (obviously) completely agree with your opinion. Should have been done ages ago.

the kids nowadays need to know what a scary game actually is; what it feels like when your helpless, limited on ammo, limited on saves and health. theres not a lot of zombies in one area but they still have the capabilities to fuck you up if you dont manage ammo and health. its a true survival game that scares you even with the environment; giving a fixed angle where you have no clue whats behind the next corner or whats down a flight of stairs. countless moments of "fuck that" or "no way in hell im going in there" or "OH SHIT DOGS CAME THROUGH THE WINDOW!". no mini map that shows where monsters are or auto lock on ability. your in a confined space of narrow hallways and corridors from the mansion and typewriters are a godsend.

People who are reading my comments, if you haven't played the remake of RE, you're in for a big show because this is a game that really scared me... even more than RE4. But as a game, it is THAT good. I'm actually sad the remake didn't get more exposure, this is probably the best game by Shinji Mikami. If you never played it... when it's out, go buy it! If you can't wait, buy a Gamecube or a Wii and try to pick it up... or just find the Archives Edition if you got a Wii U. And yes, it MUST be on the Wii U because having the map on the GamePad would be amazing... If there's one game per franchise you need to play, REbirth is THE Resident Evil game. Yes, the second is good but the REbirth is everything you need... but better. Oh and I want Chris and Jill's heads to be cut off by the Hunters like we see in the good old ads.
I do imagine how it would have been to navigate the inventory in real time... and if you don't pay attention, then you get slaughtered by a Hunter... It would be like "holy shit"! It would add so much to the already amazing atmosphere. RE4 is good but the TPS mechanics have been improved, just look at Vanquish (also directed by Shinji Mikami).
I'm not sure if I'll buy it just for the sake of seeing the final results but REbirth (I prefer calling it REbirth), even if it's recently because of Revelations, had such a strong impact on me as a gamer and when I heard it was on the Gamecube, I was like... this is from the console that gave me Metroid Prime (aka my favorite game of all time)?
But yeah, I totally agree: REbirth aged so well in terms of visual (and sound) and giving the options for the controls will help the new comers... plus giving the old-school tank controls (and I'll use the tank controls) is indeed something the fans will enjoy. Obviously it does have a remake for gamecube as stated, but originally its a PS1 game. Honestly this HD remake is only about $15 -20 more to buy than a complete copy of the Gamecube version, and looks astoundingly better.

I think this was well needed. This has always been one of my favorite resident evils, in fact, this was how I became introduced to the first one. Before it I had only played re2 and 3. But this game, as a kid, terrified me! But I loved it! I am totally looking forward to this port, although, like you, I'd love to have a physical copy of it. Great video!

The Evil Within has Shinji Mikami working on it, almost eveything he does is enjoyable at the very least. The remake, RE2 and RE4 are his best, other games like god hand and vanquish are flawed but VERY enoyable. You have nothing to worry about.

Don't worry Shinji Mikami is the god father of survival horror and a damn good producer, you have nothing to worry about. Although I would advice people not to do into the evil Within expecting an old skool Resident Evil feel because this will be completely different, but a very good survival horror experience by the looks of it. Anything by Shinji Mikami and Suda 51 will always be amazing (I know Suda 51 has nothing to do with the topic but I just thought I would throw that part in)

They're probably using this to test the waters. If they decide to, they can see how to use the tech properly and what people want in a remake. My theory anyway.

I want a damn remake of SILENT HILL! It has been 15 years and there has NEVER been a remake of any of the games in the series. Come on KONAMI get with it. Also I will be happy if they start actually making remakes of the old games and not just remasters or HD collections because I don't really care about that. I am very excited about this. The game was a commercial failure because it was only released on gamecube. Neither Capcom, nor Nintendo had a benefit out of this contract. I even go so far to say the game would have been a gigantic success without Nintendo. It's Nintendo's fault that a whole generation of games doesn't even know it exists. Now everyone on this planet will be able to experience the game, which Nintendo Exclusivity ruined for them in the first place.

Wait so let me get this straight.....People are jizzing in their pikmin undies because an 'HD' version of the remake is coming out? The same exact bloody game that was released on the cube but in "Durpdy durp high resolution prestine HD' Yeah.....couldn't care less, unless there's new additional gameplay, elements and unique control schemes(ect) thrown into the mix ala Wind Waker HD for the Wii U.
Otherwise, meh. I don't care about playing the same exact game all over again in higher resolution.
I've already beaten it twice, and the PS1 original 4 times(which i enjoyed much more) don't want to go through the remake again....Besides i don't plan on getting a PS4 or XBOX1 so i'm screwed anyways

You want better graphics, 60 FPS, Ambient Occlusion,Anti-Aliasing, Multiple resolutions not to mention the price WILL be less on steam. Better off with the PC version. I gave up console gaming because of 1 reasons. The cost of games.I would buy a game for my 360 for 60 dollars only to see it on steam for 20 2 months later.

I think Steam service is good but for some games I prefer to have the disc even though the price may be higher than digital downloads

I fucking despise Capcom for how they treat the states and even PAL regions. They pulled this same shit with Ace Attorney 5 (great game, btw). Japan got a physical copy and even a sweet ass limited addition that came with a blood pool shaped pillow....fucking metal. What did we get? A dinky digital download. Bullshit.
That still kills me that they only got a digital release of it....one of the many reasons why I never rushed out to get it and still don't have it :\
AlphaOmegaSin I know, I had the same feeling. I'd still recommend it by all means, its one of the best 3DS games if you're a fan of the series. It's just a kick in the nuts when you have to dole out like, 25 bucks for only a download.

RE remake is a testament to how remakes should be made. It was the first RE game I ever played and it scared the living fucking shit out of me. Especially the cover art on the back of the case. Also I too was the only one in my group of friends who had a GameCube.
Unfortunately it's fucking lazy from what I've seen. It's exactly the same as the GameCube game, from the screens I've seen playing the GC one on Dolphin can sometimes even look better. There's a thread on neogaf with a lot of information. They could have have better rendered backgrounds and shit like that but no, it's as lazy as it can be. Not exciting as it was when we got the REmake back on the GC.

This is my favorite game of all time. An absolute masterpiece and beautiful work of art. Finally it might get the recognition it deserves. I've played through it close to a dozen times over the past twelve years and I'm still going to download this remastered version day one.

When I saw this announcement I was so excited. I was one of the lucky few that had a Gamecube and bought the Resident Evil Remake, so I am completely with you on this being a remake that DESERVES attention.
I only hope that after its release that they consider the same treatment for Resident Evil Zero. That one needs the love and exposure it deserves.

I couldn't get the original series on PS1 but the remake was the reason I got a gamecube just for for it. It is still hooked on my tv and I occasionally play the games just for the nostalgia. Since, I moved on to PC gaming and the idea of getting and updated version makes me quite happy.
RE remake on Gamecube is hands down the best of all RE games. Nice vid Alpha.

as somebody who had an N64 instead of an original Playstation and skipped the following generation of consoles this is right up the only RE game I have not played, I've finished all the other main resident evil games from 2-6, with RE3 I played at a friends house, so while I find it funny that they will HD-up the GC remake instead of making a complete remake this is right up my alley, I really want to play this HD re-release
I agree with everything this guy says. I remember the first time my eyes laid on biohazard for the PS (rectangle console) I was scare to play it. I would only play not passed the dogs breaking the windows and only then I would turn off the console and play gex (demo version) because I would shit my pants. I agree that same feeling capcom is trying to pull on the new generation of gamers. In my opinion it is a brilliant tactic. Real RE fans and original owners of the first gen ps console should feel honored for this. My girlfriend still plays that game for the psx and keeps dying while her Xbox one is collecting dust, can you imagine if that game comes for newer consoles? The idiots ranting for something such as "remake" or a cash in are idiots who do not know any history of the game and you can notice them from 4 miles away. Resident evil is pure masterpiece and is a legend for LIFE. Althought lately the dynamics have changed to a more of an action theme, I hope RE7 goes back to its core that made them awesome.

Absolutely right. I think the new generation of gamers might not like it simply because it's more difficult compared to say RE4, RE5, and RE6. If only RE2, RE3 and RE outbreak came to next gen :(

Day 1, REmake cube release owner here, and I agree it is a very underrated game. Glad to see that it is going on current gen as well as next gen. I will try to move funds around to make sure I can get this. (and Tank controls for the win!)
This is awesome news!! I remember the first resident evil game i ever played back in middle school was the 3rd one and since that game i fell in love with the series. I really hope this is successful so that hopefully one day we can see resident evil 2 and 3 remade.

FINALLY some of the old school resident evil games getting some love and the remake too?Maybe capcom's starting to get it's head on straight?Alpha was totally on point when he said this will introduce the RE series to a younger generation.I am a part of that generation and this makes me really happy to see that some of my friends who have never even heard of resident evil's 0-3 can now experience the glory of this amazing franchise.

Totally agree with everything in this vid. The REmake is by far one of the best resident evil experiences ever. Hopefully capcom Hasn't revealed all and is planning a trilogy of REmakes that the more experienced audience craves. Love your vids bro.
I am so excited for this. The REmake was such an amazing game and I would LOVE to see a possible RE 2 remake as well. Especially if they added some of the great new story elements like the Lisa Trevor sub plot from the first one, which served very well in adding an even more sinister level to Umbrella.

But I think they are re-releasing Resident Evil remake to see if there is anymore classic Resident Evil fans. Because remember Capcom said "Our classic fan base don't play games anymore". And if this is successful we might see a Resident Evil 2 remake! :D
really excited for this , for a gamer that has grown up with this franchise and Resident evil being one of my favorite games as a child, having it remastered , is an amazing feeling. If they remake Resident Evil 2 I will be in heaven!!

I'm excited Alpha. I remember Resident Evil 1 Remake being one of the first games I've ever owned on the game cube and that was my 2nd console. I started off on the N64 and had RE2 and always have had a soft spot for it. But RE4 was the first one I actual played all the way through on the Game Cube and beat as well as understood. I was about 8 or 12 when I first beat it properly and same goes for RE1, RE2, RE CV (fucking nightmare) and of coarse Resident Evil 6 (not my favorite) I want this and thankfully we might get RE2 Remastere. That's all... ~bro7 out~

Brother! You really are speaking my language! When it comes to "The Classic" generation of Resident Evil, the essentials (0-3) were the true definition of Survival Horror. I grew up as a kid playing RE2 on the N64 and that game was ported through cross consoles Lord knows how many times. Lol
I'm looking forward to play this game for the 100th time because I love the gesture that Capcom is doing, listening for a change.
If there is one annoying factor about Capcom that has left my relationship with them on thin ice for a very long time, it's their lack of presentation and effort on their products. When RE5 first was released, I bought the collector's edition hoping to find a killer Chris Redfield figure...only to be saddened by the poorly cheap plastic figure that was inside!!! Same happened with ORC, I was devastated of the poor storyline of a sorry excuse of a Resident Evil game. It broke my heart of such a good potential of a game that went to waste.
Capcom with this gesture may bring warmth in my heart to love them again. All I ask now is to remake RE2 & RE3. I'll settle for an HD version too. 🎮❗️

I started playing the RE games in 2011, and I'm very used to modern controls.... BUT... When playing the RE Remake I chose to play the original tank controls, and I gotta say they feel better than the new control scheme for some reason for me :D
Hey, did exactly as you said and just happen to click on your video for the hell of it. I absolutely agree that Capcom is testing the waters with this release and I believe that Capcom saw better sales with Resident Evil 4 compared to the remake at the time of their respective releases. I think that was the reason we saw Resident Evil 5 and 6 as the type of games they were. I've talked with a few people who recall that Resident Evil 4 was their first Resident Evil game, and that they only later played any of the earlier games from the series after playing 4. I'm hopeful that if sales are positive for this re-release, we may yet see a return to the original survival horror game play and possibly, with some luck, a remake of Resident Evil 2.
***** Don't think that I could agree with you more on this. I am a huge fan of the original RE (guilty pleasure I guess. I've played through it at least 30 times (and I'm not bragging. I really have.)). The REmake, blew my mind. It managed to capture the full essence of the original game, while at the same time adding tons of new content, and upping the scare factor.
I also agree with you about the "tank" controls. I hate hearing people bitch about it. Once you get used to it, it's actually intuitive. One thing they don't realize about it when they tout RE4, is that RE4 has "tank" controls too. The camera is simply moved to over the shoulder. Great video.
*edit* This game is why I bought a Gamecube. Code Veronica is why I bought a Dreamcast. Damn you RE for forcing me to buy consoles.
oh man so awesome! i am wicked excited for this now because i played RE on the gamecube and i loved the shit out of it! i remember doing an all nighter just to finish the game because i could not put it down and the crimson heads really did scare me because you can hear them coming before you see them sometimes haha awesome video Alpha and sweet RE collection you have going and i also hope crapcom sees when this port comes out and it sells like crazy that maybe they should take RE back to its roots gameplay wise and i am excited for people who did not get to play it on gamecube and are discovering it for the first time
This is totally awesome, I have been wanting Capcom to bring out an updated version of Resident Evil (since the GameCube remake) to another more current system. Also thanks AlphaOmegaSin for talking about this otherwise I would have been in the dark about the release.
Few months before they announced the RE Remake HD was announced i introduced the RE Remake to 3 of my friends and they played the game half way and REALLY loved it! Now they can buy it on the PS4 and finish the game when it is released.
