As someone with very sensitive skin, the best advice I can give you is to simply stop changing up your skin and make-up products. Find something that fits to your skin and basically to do as little intervention as possible. And please go to a dermatologist, independent of a brand pushing product!!!!!
I also suffer from Psoriasis and I use CereVe cleanser and CereVe lotion, not oily, light, super simple. I do as little as possible to my skin as sometimes during flare ups in my hair I have to use Steroid lotions. It’s a constant balance but using less is definitely a winner for me and my Dermatologist fully agrees.
You are completely correct! I have sensitive skin and I only use Cerave products. My dermatologist said to use simple products and just stick to that. He said he sees so many women with skin issues from using a lot of different products with ingredients that just irritate skin, fragrance, etc… like most things in life, keep it simple.🙂
@brontec9769 came here to say the same thing! Acne and psoriasis are treatable conditions, and you're SO much better off having them treated by a medical professional than by a brand "expert" whose ultimate goal is to sell you a set of specific products. I know seeing a dermatologist is out of reach for some people, in the US in particular due to insurance issues, but if you are struggling with your skin and you have the option of a dermatologist, pleeeease take it. I know firsthand how acne can affect your self-esteem, and there are so many options out there that are more effective than trying to navigate skin care products on your own.
I was listening to your video as I was preparing my baby's crib, as it tonight will be the first night she'll sleep in her own bedroom. I've been watching your videos since the Vivianna does make up days, we kinda grew into our adult years together and you have been an inspiration for me in many times, albeit you may not realise it. So thank you for being so consistent throughout the years, always uploading on Sundays, always bringing some joy into my weeks. Hope you and your family are doing great. ❤️
Hey Anna, could you do a closet maintenance video? Products you use to debobble, tips for how to maintain shoes, ironing / steaming tips, or anything like that? Your clothes always look so clean and polished, I would definitely love any tips!
So glad that you're one of the TH-camrs who stuck around. I've been subscribed for years and adore your content! Thank you for giving a real slice-of-life mixed with beauty insights and just being you.
Anna, you were the person that got me into youtube! Also hilarious story - it was because i was obsessed with your blog (bloglovin days lol) and you had your embeded youtube videos in it. I was so confused for AGES because you would say "i will link everything below" but obviously the description box wasnt in the embedded video so would spend more time than i would like to admit scrolling around and googling what that meant. I love how you've grown up with us - from sitting in uni rooms talking about make up for nights out (same) with poker straight hair (same) then to now reno'ing your house (same!) and embracing the waves and eyebrows (same and same!) - and i still look up to you for style and tips and advice!
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder, as someone also struggling with something similar something that really helped me was cutting down sugar, vegetable oils and processed foods as they can really cause a lot of inflamation. The sugar was harddddd because its so addicting but i tried to replace a sugary bad treat with a piece of dark chocolate or a date and that helped ❤
Gut health, diet, immune function, hormone function - these are all intimately related. It can be quite a journey to figure things out and make positive health supporting changes. Great job kicking the sugar, vegetable oil, and processed foods. It’s not easy to make these impactful changes, but so worth it.
Would love to see your wedding makeup recommendations and if you would change anything from your wedding day makeup! 😍💞 Thinking of doing my own, would love some tips and tricks 🙈❤️
Having had severe acne for several years as a teenager (~25 years ago), I’ll never forget the negative mental/physical impact it had on me. And I appreciate your disclaimer that you’re not a skin expert/dermatologist & that what works for you might not work for others! Kudos Anna 💜
Omg Anna I loved every second of this! Thank you for being so transparent with your skin journey. Would you be able to share what probiotics and omega oils you take please?
I subbed to your channel when I was a uni student and just getting into makeup back in 2014, and now I'm still here for all the lifestyle, beauty and fashion content! I am hitting the dirty thirty this year so feel like I've matured along with you :)
Thank you so much for sharing your skin journey ! Had similar issues and solved it with gentle exfoliation and a lot of moisture, my skin was just finally so dehydrated that it was producing a lot of sebum that was turning into cystic acne…
Yes girl! Another 10 year sub here. Maybe even longer. Been here since the Vivianna Does Makeup days! You had a baby about two years before I had my first and I actually went back and rewatched those videos once I got pregnant! I feel like I’ve been grown up with you! I’m 33! It’s been so nice to have your videos throughout the years.
Not sure how many years but when I joined you were growing out your brows. It was a journey. And as someone with sparse brows at the best of times it was awesome to watch.
I am just coming out of a similar situation with my skin - hormonal, cystic, acne all over chin a jawline. I did exactly the same thing, changing things to try and fix it and just making it worse. I’m also a really bad skin picker - I can’t leave any blemish alone so lots of scarring. I’ve gone back to a simple routine and it seems to have settled down now 🤞
Bless you I’ve been thru it to I’m 53 and in menopause w rosacea and eczema and a year ago I broke my barrier w over exfoliating w hormones my totally resilient skin became so sensitive so I went simple and I’m back on track it took months so I know your pain your skin troubles are probably hormonal w child birth and into your 30’s I know it sounds crazy but I know what hormones can do I find that diet and regular exercise really help I just wanted to share 😊
Yesss! I've been watching you forever Anna, and I love this old school style of vid. Am currently getting ready for work, with you keeping me company 🥰 definitely support a what's in my bag 🤣
I also got perioral dermatatis in november (along with tiredness++). Mine is a lot better now, and almost gone. 🙏🏻 Felt like zinc oxide (Lyonsleaf Zinc and Calendula cream) and sulfur (Elixir SOS Paste) did it for me, in addition to a truly simpe skincare routine. 💕
I had psoriasis all around eyes, in my ears and along the hairline. Finally got doctor to prescribe Humira. Best thing ever. Still have one small spot under my right eye but the rest is gone
I think I’ve been subscribed since like 2012 or so? 😆 You’re such a joy to watch Anna! You radiate happiness and have such an infectious personality. Not surprised I’ve been subscribed for this long 🤭 love your videos!
I know how discouraging skin issues can be for sure. The La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Therapeutic Cream healed perioral derm and truly repaired my skin. I always keep a tube in my vanity in case of another breakout. And I used to get psoriasis on my face all the time. All through my teenage years…it was so embarrassing. My derm told me to get my face in the sun for 5 minutes a day without sunscreen. This was back when I was a teen. And it worked for me. And I haven’t had it on my face since. I realize that’s controversial, but just wanted to put it out there because I know when you’re searching for answers and remedies every testimonial helps. ♥️
I like to drink tea once it’s completely cool. And I mix peppermint tea with other medicinal herbs that aren’t as tasty. Ginger is also a good flavor to mask others. ❤
My brother tried EVERYTHING to clear his psoriasis…cutting out sugar, tomatoes, different supplements and the thing that finally worked for him was cutting out gluten. Once he did that, it cleared up and he’s back on sugar and tomatoes 😂
The housewives addiction is real. Can relate 😂 I would recommend Salt Lake City as it’s quick to binge, only a few seasons but WOW the drama. And I love New Jersey!!
Yes, I have been here for years, almost since the very beginning ;) I remember watching your old videos of you raving about Guerlain Lingerie de peau (or something like that) foundation and your first "top ten MAC eyeshadows" video🤣 Hugs from Italy
I‘m one of those that has been here since the all that glitters and loreal telescopic days. You‘re actually one of the few youtubers I still follow from back in the day. And now I basically rip off your makeup and style 😂
I am so into TH-cam! Long form has been my choice of content for the longest time. I find it so much more relaxing to consume. I have loved the journey of your channel over the years! X
i feel like i've matured with you, I'm 32 and feel like I subbed in 2012 or so? but now I also have a child, own a home and matured in myself. It's really nice to reflect on that in your channel and content
Anna, I love how positive and smiley you are. Would love to hear what you do to maintain a positive attitude! Thank you for the hair video, I’ve been waiting for this!
Gutted that they have said they can't treat my skin 😢 I have suffered with eczema my whole life and now have had a bit of a flare up with that and i *think* a bit of perioral dermatitis, too. I thought skin and me would be the thing that helps after seeing your, and others' journeys. It seems not!
Been here since 2012? Maybe 13 and have loved growing up together! ❤ Also I watch adamantly on my own TH-cam account, I love that it shows I’ve watched a video so I can see what I’ve missed. We’re both the same type A type of person 😂
I’m a TH-cam girl for sure. Basically replaced reg TV for me 😂. Then IG for a quick lookie see. When I want recommendations on quick skin or makeup looks. TikTok is for comedy, politics, & discovering new music.

I can only second that! 👏🏼

Yeah I agree. I made my skin worse with new acne products (benzoyl peroxide)and I'm working to manage that after seeing my GP and dermatologist.

Yessss! Keep the “old school” videos coming. I love the chats, what’s in my bag, monthly favorites 🥰

Since the Vivianna does makeup blog days🎉
I'm confused- youve been using skin and me 2 yrs but your skin got terrible during that time?
The Missha BB cream is amazing on dry texture skin. It looks so nice and skin like. Covers redness, eczema and acne very nicely 😊
Of course we are still here. I love your channel Anna! Hugs from Spain.

We need the "what's in my bag" videos to come back in 2024!

Would love to see your wedding makeup recommendations and if you would change anything from your wedding day makeup! 😍💞 Thinking of doing my own, would love some tips and tricks 🙈❤️
I’d also LOVE to see this! 😍😍 I’m getting married in April and am also doing my own make up 💅
The latest season of New York is one of the best seasons!
Having had severe acne for several years as a teenager (~25 years ago), I’ll never forget the negative mental/physical impact it had on me. And I appreciate your disclaimer that you’re not a skin expert/dermatologist & that what works for you might not work for others! Kudos Anna 💜

I reckon I’ve been here for 11 years… not a frequent commenter but I’ve been watching quietly for years. Thanks for so many good videos. X
Also still a Mac soba regular user because of you!
Thank you so much for sharing your skin journey ! Had similar issues and solved it with gentle exfoliation and a lot of moisture, my skin was just finally so dehydrated that it was producing a lot of sebum that was turning into cystic acne…
Do you just use the daily doser at night?
Here for the old school TH-cam videos! ❤
Just wanted to say I have been loving the deep red nail polish on you these last few videos! Very chic and classic.

Love the old school you tube videos! It feels like home ♥️
which cleanser and moisturiser do you use along with your treatment, Anna? and are you able to share what they updated in your formula? X

Oh and yess for a favourites video!! 🎉
Skin and Me wouldn’t touch me as I had one blemish on my face due to sensitivity 😢
My mom told me that pregnancy can kind of “flip” your hormones and really affect the skin. She had acne before and then super nice skin after.
PLEASE do a 2024 what’s in my bag!!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love the old school vibes!

What’s the red spot on your hand?
Could be psoriasis, which Anna often talks about
❤❤
