“I’d like to take this moment and the powers vested in me to grant amnesty to whoever needs it” I bet the restrictees all voted for him! What a man of character, gone too soon.

I was so fortunate to live during the brief period of the Kennedy administration and actually saw him pass by me in a motorcade not more than 10 or 15 feet from me as he traveled to San Diego State to deliver a commencement address in the summer of 1963. How proud we were of him and what a terrible tragedy befell our country just a few months later.

I was in 1st grade in Catholic School....in every classroom there was a picture of JFK and next to him the Sacred Heart of Jesus....lol When his assassination was announced the nuns shut down the school for the day! They next morning when I walked in to the kitchen, i saw my mother crying sitting at the kitchen table! That made a real impression on me!! For the next few days we were all watching on tv. Very sad time!

Nice speech, and I'm sure Kennedy enjoyed appearing at the USNA. Here he was, the ex-Lieutenant (jg), USNR, now the Commander-in-Chief. The junior officer was now in command!
When Kennedy was assassinated, I was nine years old and in the fourth grade. I remember the lying in state, the state funeral, and the like. I also remember the enormous outpouring of grief from around the world. JFK was okay. He treated other nations with respect, he handled the Cuban missile crisis skillfully, and he signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. A forward-looking fellow.

why is it kennedy was lying in state when he was in wash dc which is not a state at all its in the district of columbia. when reagan kicked the bucket he lay in repose in the state of calif and when he was moved to wash dc again he was lying in state when not in a state at all........ you could say he was in a state of vertically challenged capacity. another difference was when jfk rode on a plane back to dc and maryland- he got to ride in the right forward luggage compartment...trippy

This is why he was a great president!
He was an American; he served, and in combat, and supported our nation's warriors.
He defied the rise of the Global Military Industrial Complex Contractors; former President Eisenhower's warning, today we see this happening before our eyes.
    He is missed...

Here is always hoping that someday, maybe within the next decade or so, a youthful, bright person with heart, vision and compassion will emerge, doesn't matter what gender, race, etc we need more youth to try and step into public service at all levels. There is a rather well known saying "Let youth be served" maybe be by watching some of these videos of Kennedy speeches, some one will be inspired enough to try.

I am a canadian, about 15 years ago I went for sugeries, shorthly after I had a lot of time on my hand. I always wanted to know why JFK was assssinated and since I had nothing but time I started doing research on him. I came across a the speech he did on 27 April 1961 called "the president and the press" that's how I started doing my research on conspiresies, that speech really opened my eyes as to what kind of world we live in. He tried to warned the public about those "world elites and the danger that laid ahead" The United States lost a great man that year. I still remember when my parents told us he had been assassinated. God rest his soul!
