Today on the channel, we are back at it with the legend Prince performing a medley of some of his tunes. He hits "Play In The Sunshine," "Housequake," and "Little Red Corvette." This performance was so much fun and I loved the musical decisions and stage production that creates such an EPIC experience! Prince was also hitting some wild dance moves on this one! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #prince #princereaction #princelive #guitarsolo #livemusic #musicreactions

The more I see/hear from Prince, the more his artistry amazes me! Such a LEGEND! 💜
Prince always said you can't f*** with this band.
He was telling the truth
Prince almost never slept and loved nothing more than writing and performing music. He’s notoriously known for staying in the studio recording for 24 to 48 hours straight at times. He would play live for 2 to 3 hours at an arena show and then hit a local club where he’d play another hour or 2. Then he and his band would head back to their hotel room where they would watch back video of their performance so they would know where they needed to improve.
Wow!!! I guess that obsession led him to be the genius he became! Such a LEGEND! 💜
Anyone who didn't see him in person really missed out on some funky fun💜💜
He was so amazing live 🔥🔥🔥
Exactly
@@VinceRowland-e9b yesssss he was
Saw him three times live 1984, 1988 and 2004 I think I didn’t make it to his Last one in Detroit because that was my daughter’s birthday
My family planned our vacations around his tours and got a rental for his vegas shows.. you would leave the shows half deaf without earplugs but it was a life changing experience to see him live
I've always said that Prince is the greatest of all time with as much objectivity as a human can provide on such topics. I've never seen an artist be so gifted while also not being put into a box. If he was *just* a pop artist, he'd be a GOAT. If he was *just* a guitarist, he'd be a GOAT. RnB? GOAT. Rock? GOAT. Funk? GOAT. Listening to his discography is like getting 15 different artist in one.
Great point! Absolutely UNREAL! Thanks for the insight!
And Housequake is still one of the most funkiest jams around. 🎵 We gotta rock this mother.....🎵🕺
Thank you, you said it! Prince, live, was an experience! He was immaculate with transition, no dead air at his shows. I was fortunate to see him over 10 times, from 1980 - 2004. You will never hear of a bad Prince concert. Those shows were well rehearsed but Prince was in the moment too!
Love how Prince said "Not bad.... for a girl" about Sheila E. Too funny! My standing "joke" when people want to remember my name is I tell them "Just think of Sheila E, but one letter off cause I'm Sheila F." 😊
This entire musical film is stellar. Enjoy!
Don’t care how good you thought your band was. Prince in a different universe!
💯
This is from the Sign of the Times concert DVD. I was lucky enough to see Prince at Wembley Arena, London when he was touring the Lovesexy tour. A round stage in the middle of the auditorium. Awesome!
When this DVD was released I watched it every Sunday morning for weeks and weeks! My housemates thought I was nuts.
This is what WE call black Excellence and do not let the good rock vibes fool you. There is alot of Blackness in this song! Prince was beyond being a musician.
Yikes!
Another great reaction!!! Thanks so much for doing this one. That’s Levi Seacer, Jr. on bass. He is primarily a guitarist, but played bass in this band for Prince because Miko Weaver was on guitar. I love that you gave Sheila E her flowers as a drummer since she is mostly recognized as a great percussionist. She killed it on drums as well! I’m still loving this deep dive into Prince and look forward to what’s next 💜💜💜
Appreciate it and thanks again! This was so awesome and Prince always blows my mind! Yeah, Sheila E is an absolute powerhouse! Such a fun performance from everyone on stage! 💜
@@setonhillstudiosYeah, Levi was playing in Sheila's band before Prince reeled him in for his crew. You can see it all come together on Prince and Sheila E doing "Love Bizzare" live. Add that one to your growing list 💯
Prince was a musical genius he could play every instrument and had only the best musician's play with him.
Another great one. You mentioned the transitions, he was the best at that. Other concerts the band plays, the song ends, the band stops and crowd cheers, but not prince ,his songs would transition into the next with no break, just 1 big party
💜PRINCE💜
Such a legend! 💜
it is calculated and organic at the same time. A true gemini...he is
You must watch the entire concert film Sign O the Times. You will have your jaw on the floor! 💜
That's the Becker brothers on the horns the SaxophoneThese guys are professional jazz musicians
The lyrics he is spitting on Housequake are not adlib, actually part of the studio album version of the song on Sign O the Times.
That band is thr Tightest in the Land.
Levi Seacer Jr. was the bass player in this. This is taken from the Sign O' The Times concert movie. I got a chance to see him live on the Lovesexy tour, and all I can say is that he wasn't human when he was on stage. He was just a ball of energy that never seemed to dissipate!
Levi Seacer, Jr. on bass! Absolutely crushing it as usual! Levi switched to rhythm guitar in the early 90s when Miko left the band, and he kills it on guitar too. And you're spot on - every time you watch a Prince video, my day is automatically brighter too! Thanks for this. 💜
Housequake has a special place in my heart because there was a party at Paisley Park in 2014 where FKA Twigs performed, and then there was a dance party in the soundstage area after her performance in the smaller room. Prince wasn't planning on performing that night, but I was doing the Housequake dance over by the DJ booth since I had just been talking to the DJ who was a friend of mine. And for some reason, the DJ was set up on the left side of the room close to the stage instead of back by the soundboard like usual. Prince was playing a game of billiards on that side of the stage, and his drummer Hannah tapped him on the shoulder and pointed at me dancing to Housequake. And Prince abandoned his game of pool, walked over to stand like 3 feet from me to watch me dance for the first verse, the chorus, and into the 2nd verse, then motioned to the DJ to cut the song, and then got up on stage and played Housequake for 15-20 minutes just with the drum loop and him on keyboards. I have so many stories like this, but listening to Housequake specifically reminds me of that moment every single time I hear it. 💜 P is so missed every day.
What?!? That is so rad! I would be tripping out! This was such a fun performance for sure! I believe Hannah is from Kentucky where I’m from! She is also an incredible drummer! Thanks for sharing and have a great one! 💜
this is so fucking awesome
It is so Funking refreshing to see that in 50 years from here Prince will still be the GOAT
I think it was James Brown who said that Prince’s bands are so well rehearsed that even the mistakes are practiced. 😂
Haha 😂 Love that!
In case no one has said it, that's Levi Seacer, Jr on bass. He went on to play rhythm guitar in the band when Miko Weaver (seen here) left.
Prince is the GOAT! He's my all time favorite artist! Sign O'The Times is my favorite album! Thanks for this, can't wait for other reactions of Prince!💜😊
@@cyndigarcia1431 Very few live Performance was Prince ask to jam with in fear he might Play it better.
I wore this VHS tape out back in the day.
One of the things that first grabbed my attention about Prince was the jazzy horn runs. Growing up as teen in the UK there was nothing like it on the radio. It seemed like a whole new alien music world opened up for me when I saw Prince's Lovesexy tour on TV.
A lot of people were put off by Prince's public persona. He didn't like giving interviews and came across as very serious and quiet. You only have to see videos like this and other live performances and official music videos that Prince had a great sense of humour and was a lot of fun. Saw him 16 times in London and the performances were usually a riot!
Keep the Prince coming, you got plenty of tunes to go🙂💜
Dude! You are on a roll!
Yes! Price always has the best song transitions...his live shows were so exhilarating...leaving the electric vibes lingering in your body for daze...weeks..maybe even months. Prince's music is life💜
A MUST SEE is While my Guitar Gently Weeps with Prince, Tom Petty and Steve Winwood among others . Prince plays an incredible Solo.
Yes this is from the sign of the times concert movie.
If you haven’t seen the whole movie, make sure you do. It’s the best damn show I’ve seen. Unfortunately I never saw Prince live, but back in 84 I ran into him at First Avenue. He was with his body guard Chic. Looked like he was scoping out the ladies. I was 20 at the time. I walked up, said hello, we shook hands and that was it. He didn’t act like he was to cool to say hello to a fan. There are many Prince eras with different bands and musicians. He was ever changing all the time.
That is a great memory... Prince in Real Time was unstoppable.... I saw him live once in 94 and i remember it as if it were yesterday...easy game 2 play
Bass was Levi Seacer Jr. he was formerly in Sheila E's band and on the next tour would switch to rhythm guitar and later became the musical director for the band.
Prince also had the revolution practice ballet god damn
Levi Seacer Jr on Bass (Oakland). Later played back-up guitar for him.
Thanks so much! Such a great player!
Levi is a fantastic musician. His guitar work on Diamonds and Pearls as well as the symbol album are incredible, not to mention all the times he played bass for Prince.
I have to admit that Prince was never my favourite even though everyone talked about how great he was.
After watching this, it gave me a whole new perspective of his talent.
What an absolutely brilliant performer! This is going to make me go on a deep dive of his stuff with a new and (long overdue) well-deserved appreciation! Amazing 🤩
This comment makes me so happy! One of the reasons I request all these Prince performances is with the hope that someone who wasn’t really into or aware of him would get sparked to check him out. He really was a true musician and genius in every way. I’m excited for you to explore more of his performances and music. 💜💜💜
Enjoy your trip down the Prince rabbit hole. Keep his memory alive💜💜💜
This is the best comment on this video and makes me so incredibly happy. As highly rated as Prince is, he is still somehow completely underrated in so many ways. I think it can be overwhelming to begin a deep dive into his work because there is just SO much, and it's hard to know where to start. But I'm so glad this reaction video was exactly what you needed to get started. 💜
Yessss!!! You made my day! He is incredible and I am on my journey as well! The more I see, the more I am mindblown!Amazing artist and legend! 💜
@@setonhillstudiosthis is what is so great about reaction videos. When you find someone you gel with and like, you go on a discovery journey with them. I would never have watched a Prince music video myself.
The most exciting thing about reactions is the possibility of finding an artist you either hadn’t even heard of or dismissed as music you didn’t like.
Thank you for your genuine enthusiasm for music and introducing myself and no doubt many others to music they would otherwise have not engaged with.
I saw him three times and you nailed it: his shows were always just so much pure fun. It was impossible to not have a good time.
WHAT❓❓❓❓❓❓🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💜
It’s just another day in the office at the house the GOAT built (PP)
People talk about greatest concert films. Not one of the other ones includes a singular human capable of doing all the things he did in this film.
And by the way he directed it.
💜💜💜♊️♊️♊️
Great reaction! Thanks for sharing. 💜
Thanks so much! This was such a great video and Prince was on 🔥 Have a great one! 💜
Great selection and reaction my man!!!👍👍
Appreciate it!
As Prince matured, he got even better. Check out Alma Awards from 2006(?), it's with Sheila E. as well. It's amazing. Alternatively NAACP awards from 2006/2007.
For sure you should watch this whole concert film. Particularly, you should react to the solo section for the band “Nows the Time”
wow! amazing with the gymnastics on stage😂
He also has another guitarist player, and they step in at times😊
Great point! I never thought about the difficulty in finding frets, etc, when you're also swinging the guitar and dancing! Even more kudos to Prince's massive abilities.
Morris day always said prince does love practice it
I'm sure you know of the great drummer John Blackwell, who played with Prince, starting in 2000 for about 10 years. John was the drummer on Prince's Musicology album and tour. There are some great videos of John doing his thing with Prince. Worth watching.
No doubt!! I checked out another Prince video and he was killing it! I think it was Shhh! Dude was a beast! 🔥
@@setonhillstudios -- Also, you can briefly see Prince play drums on the song "It's Gonna be a Beautiful Night," from the Sign O' the Times video.
Housequake is probably my favourite of Prince's party jams. One night when I was bartending I asked the DJ to play this (the album had just been released and I was already playing it to death at home). He said he didn't play album tracks. I knew the busy bar would like it, so I got one of the very attractive female regulars to go request it. That worked and he played it. As I was working behind the bar, and dancing away with the female bartender, I was watching the crowd. Bit by bit people were grooving to it more and more. Not just on the dance floor, but over by the bar and up by tables. Soon people's arms were up and their hips were swivelling. By the halfway point the whole place was jamming to it. How could they not? 😁💜🎶
Another great reaction ! 😊
Can you imagine being a Mike chat?
God damn
Great video
Shella E has a a lot of history with George Duke.
A year or too older than this....but...check out his live version of America in France. I want to say it was during filming of Under the Cherry Moon
Wow all I know is I need to watch that again particularly the where he does the splits!!😂 Prince is always so much fun!!
"On the drums Sheila E! Not bad for a girl!" 😏

His band could play with anybody.
Prince bae Prince ban with jazz musicians. He already told you. Can't f*** with this Band
I wish this Sign O Times concert movie someday will be available on DVD or blue ray.
It is. Ebay has it. Walmart has it on their online store. I bought a Japanese edition blue ray a few years back. Well worth the $
The concert video has a story line that runs through the concert; thus the conversation parts. “I could never take the place of your man” video is a continuation of the story.
Levi Seacer is on bass
Bass: Levi Seacer Jr.
When you play guitar long enough, you get used to playing blind without seeing the fretboard.
So wild!! Such a Legend! 🔥
Thanks man , appreciated Jamie parks studio
Yes shirley e father play percussion for santana
With The Sign o the Times tour, Prince unofficially introduced his new band line up, The New Power Generation, who effectively replaced his band, the Revolution. On bass, we have Levi Searcer, Bonnie Boyer on organ and backing vocals, his dancer Cat Glover also on supporting vocals.
I think the name may be spelled Levi Seacer, for anyone who wants to Google him. I would also add Miko Weaver as the other guy on guitar, Dr. (Matt) Fink on the other keyboards, and I believe Wally Safford and Greg Brooks on BG vocals.
Man, I'd love to see your reaction to Tesla-Comin' Atcha Live 2008
Housequake is about a dance called The Housequake. That Shelia E performance on Letterman was from a drum week where 5 drummer we spotlighted. Find those videos. Great week. Meko Weber was on bass
Miko Weaver was on guitar, Levi Seacer is on bass.
💜 PRINCE 💜 you've got to react to 🔥2007 SUPER BOWL FULL PERFORMANCE🔥💯 🎯
It's only 10 to 11 minutes long but it is

Not so great reaction.... when u watch a Prince concert, u musn’t blink, or speak.... u missed the ”not bad 4 a girl” famous quote.... too bad 😊 Levi the bass player is a guitar player...
🤷🏻♂️
I love how your face went when you didnt realize how athletic Prince was when people thought he was soft...all the spins and splits and leaping off objects
This is more of an amazing movie than Purple Rain... Sign O The Times was filmed with shows at his paisley park studio and his tour of Europe and they were edited together... Prince has more concert films google "Beautiful Strange" and "Undertaker" good stuff ... so much more concerts coming from the archives when they get his estate in order
