Thanks for sharing! I finally hooked my quest 3 and did some vr gameplay. But unlike assetto corsa, there was no mirroring so I couldn't really record or go live gameplay with vr mode. I will test this later after work!
I manage to get the split screen issue solved by doing oculus mirror plus a pin window app and lowering as max as possible the resolution in the game. Whenever I played it shows full screen to stream for other people watching. Some menus does not work so is not full functional but is a good way to show full screen in your monitor/TV while playing the game on your VR headset
i've saved you tutorial to watch later, i tried so many times to make this work, i've got the PSVR1 last month and got shoked that i could not play GT7 with it and that this hardware are so limited, as it is very expansive to get the PSVR2 here in my country i feel obligated to make it work somehow.

@@BeatzCreations I dont think it has any affect on performance, positive or negative, it's just so there is something on screen while you play and for me the image helps light up my room a bit which helps for recording. That's the only reason for editing the config file
best video that explains how to do this, but with my oculus rift im still not able to get vr working, ive done all the steps, starting ets2 vr and all i see in my vr is the oculus home, cant get the game to show on there, and the config file does not have the oculus parts,
Did you definitely select the oculus beta in the steam properties? Try pressing f11 on the ETS2 main screen, when the vr is active this toggles between vr mode and regular mode. If I think of anything else I will let you know 👍

Have you tried pressing f11 to switch between vr and flat? Also make sure to set up a button to recentral your vr view. I use an Oculus Rift S so I always have to have it wired. For the stuttering try removing some mods, I've found this to be the best way to get good performance l, also turning down certain graphic options like smaa and shadows. I hope this helps
The Oculus Rift S has been discontinued so I recently got myself a Meta Quest 2, its clearer and better than my Rift, I'd recommend a Quest 2 unless you can afford a Reverb g2 or Valve Index 👍
Hello thanks for the video, unfortunately for me I am still struggling to have single full screen to show in the mirror. Mine is still showing split and when changing to OBS I cannot do anything since when I click the ETS 2 app it change to split screen. What is the setting you have in OBS to be able to play in single screen to show in the monitor or TV screen? Thanks!
When I do it this way the game still appears split screen on my monitor, but in obs I have it set to record from the oculus mirror window, that way I can have the game on in vr and obs records the mirrored window. Make sure obs is recording a game capture and select Oculus Mirror as the game you want to capture, I'm finding it hard to explain but I hope I've made sense. I am thinking about making an updated video about this 👍

How do you get the sound to work? I've been trying really hard for hours on end to get the sound to work using oculus mirror. When i share oculus mirror in discord there is no sound because oculus mirror doesn't have any.

how do you set the resolution to 3840x2160? iam playing on a Quest 2 and ingame the max. resolution is 1920x1080 can you integrate a custom resolution?
My monitors native resolution is 4k so my max resolution is 3840x2160 then I have Oculus mirror on full screen so it keeps the resolution the same for the video.

I just got the Oculus Quest 2, been trying all the settings, still not working for me, if I go to config, I dont see the Oculus line in there so Im guessing ETS just didnt launch with VR mode despite all the right settings, going over the internet it seems I might be the only dude having this issue, any ideas how to fix it?
Are you selecting the oculus + openvr beta on Steam? This has to be downloaded for the vr mode. The oculus mirror line in the config file only appears once you have started ETS2 in vr mode for the first time, if it isnt there on your pc then that means the vr mode hasnt been active. Make sure you have the correct beta installed so on steam it will have changed the game to "Euro Truck Simulator 2 (oculus) the only other thing I can think of is once you start the game try pressing f11 to see if you are able to switch between normal and vr modes👍 hopefully this has helped you, let me know how you get on. it didn't work for me. Is your gaming laptop connected directly to the network cable or is it wireless? This is really frustrating and disappointing that neither Oculus or ATS or ETS have proper documentation on how to enable and get VR working for its customers.
My pc has cabled internet. The main steps really are making sure you have the correct vr Beta installed and either type -oculus in the launch options or -openvr for none oculus headsets. Doing this should enable the vr mode. Some actual instructions from SCS on the vr mode would be greatly appreciated but I think while the vr mode is still in beta we wont get any. Hopefully it wont always be in beta 👍
I have rendering scale at 100% and my refresh rate on the highest. I have oculus mirror locked at 60fps for smoother recording. My control panel settings are all set to default apart from power management which is set to max performance, g-sync on for playing and off for recording (makes smoother recordings)
@@8BitDriverGuy thank you for the detailed reply 🙏 My native screen is 49" g9 odyssey which is a big screen to have 2 images + VR (quest 2) in ATS i tried different approach last night, resolution slider full right in oculus app, an display monitor setting in game set to 1920x1080p (same as i use in assetto corsa for VR) all other graphics settings set to high/ultra vsync, dof, colour correction,sunshaft off.. was able to get a very similar smooth picture quality in HMD as i do in Asseto corsa VR. So for now i feel better to play it but appreciate your reply.

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. I’m able to see the screen on my vr but not in full screen, nor I can move my head and it moves the screen.

Is setting the mirror mode in config file necessary? Can't you just use the oculus mirror app ?

In the control options you can choose what to press to center your view, I use one of the buttons on the side of my mouse.
