I too agree with his review of this plane, I found it to be worth every penny that I paid for it. I also agree that it is the best GA aircraft in MSFS if not the best aircraft in MSFS period. Awesome product and thank you A2A and your team for bringing it to us. Hoping to see the beautiful accu-sim Cessna 182 Skylane to follow at some point down the road. I was excited to hear that A2A was back in the game and was not disappointed with the Comanche. Thanks again A2A!
I used to only fly this particular GA aircraft with P3D and I really think that this will be the same in MSFS. This is mainly because, even in simulation, a few planes have "souls" and A2A ones certainly have souls. The A2A Comanche has a shiny soul, the Bonanza a darker one 😃.Thank's for review sir.
Because you commented on A2A’s silence during the development process: That’s pretty much SOP for them. In the P3D abd FSX days (yes, they go back even further than P3D 😊), they often wouldn’t even announce what they were working on. E.g., with their Bonanza they just released preview pictures a few days before release, telling people “Oh yeah, this is what we’ve been working on for the last couple of years”
Yes I realised that I’d failed to mention FSX! Oh that’s interesting, we should really have been prepared for that then - it’ll be interesting to see what appears next!
Cold, hard nerd power :) Love your reviews so much. Thank you for investing the time into this one. A2A's Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory was my first 'modern' sim back in 2007 and the A2A B-17G and Spitfire, both FSX, are two of my all-time favourite pieces of payware for flight sim.
I bought this plane because I love study level aircraft in the G.A. area. I absolutely applaud A2A. Beautiful model, everything is crisp. I have bought 7 A2A aircraft previously and everyone of them I still use in Fsx and P3d. Their aircraft are second to none. Please guys and girls, buy this and help out the flight sim community and A2A.

Can't imagine what the luck has to be for that. They deserve more subs, but it's hard to keep them when you're grinding away 28 hours a day as an unpaid instructor while your mates are swanning off to exotic locations as overpaid jet pilots...
Hello Nathan here, I’m not sure what you could be doing wrong. You absolutely sure that it’s 23v? Also are you trying to start with the Avionics switch on? They really don’t like that so it could be modelled
Thank you very much, I enjoyed every minute of this 2 hour review! Just as a sidenote concerning the history of Shockwave/A2A: They did some coding in 2003 for the "Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator", until the publisher "Trisynergy" asked them to develop complete aircraft for the new FS9 (MS FS 2004). Around that time, they rebranded as "A2A Simulations", because of some irritation with the Online Gaming Service 'Shockwave'. They focused on warbirds at first, because they did the "Absolute Realism" add-on (predecessor to AccuSim) for the MS CFS before. So A2A didn't start developing for P3D, but for the Microsoft FS9 (the first version of 'AccuSim' came out 2008 for FSX and afterwards A2A began porting it over to P3D (P3D is based on the FSX and its core still is today). I know A2A from all the civilian AC, they did in FSX. My favorite then was the Piper Cherokee 180. Perhaps, because the Comanche is more intended to be a "cruising GA", the Cherokee is more the classic roundtrip type of aircraft, like for the weekend pilots getting a 100$-Burger e.g.. With the Comanche, you can really "travel" from A to B. After this release, proving that AccuSim works with MSFS, too, I'm looking forward to every plane they will release. That's for sure! I love the JustFlight Pipers, too. They surprised me with their really good quality ("study level"?) and the same goes for the C414 AW, my favorite MEP - BTW: There will be a Beechcraft Duke (piston and turbo version) coming to the MSFS. I'm excited to see these, because the Dukes from "RealAir" were my favorite MEP in FSX. I had to smile about your struggle to find negatives, but I totally agree with you, that it would be a great addition to adapt the wear factor (interior and exterior) to the general state of the aircraft. That would be a great enhancement. BTW.: May it be, that only 4 of 6 spark plugs were active in the video? It seemed to be every time you changed to the engine screen of the tablet, that only 4 cylinders randomly showed ignitions.
Thanks for the info! I realised after I made this that A2A go a lot further back than I initially thought. I’m very much looking forward to anything new they bring out from now on, that’s for sure! Yes I noticed the spark plugs when I was practicing with the aircraft. Not sure if it’s a bug since the cylinders seem to be burning fuel just fine, or if there’s actually a miss on those pairs of cylinders at low RPM. More investigation is needed I think!
Well - small world... I worked albeit briefly at EGBM where G-TALF was (still is) based. I remember well the full restoration that was done on the aircraft by the owners - it was beautiful! I left before it was fully in service. What a great review and great back story of your experience of an aircraft that I used to admire so much quite a few years ago! Haha, the price? I bought it as soon as I heard about it, I'd have paid more than £100 for this as to me accusim is more valuable than msfs itself. Passionate and accurate, I had all the A2A planes for fsx. I uninstalled msfs a while back, just bought this, still waiting for msfs to download again. A2A are the only dev I trust implicitly. Thanks for your opinion on their wonderful product. Glad to hear I'm in for a treat as I knew I would be.
a fantastic review of a magnificent aircraft. it sets a new standard that i hope others try to beat. the hot start aircraft would be a great addition too
Considering the price, it all depends on how much you would fly it. I bought it and so far it had cost me 2$ per hour... and counting - and counting down. Maybe the entry amount is huge but eventually, you have something that you will play with for a ling time without any additional costs, while the ones you have bought for half of the price are collecting dust in your hangar. Just a thought.
I really enjoy your Vlogs and reviews. Although I fly mainly Airliners in the sim I bought this off the back of your review and it is fantastic. When I do fly GA, I enjoy the Piper Arrow and Warrior but this seems to be on another level to them. Thanks for this
Having bought a haptic seat cover a couple of months ago, and as with VR quickly gotten to the point where the immersion is completely broken flying without it, I was crestfallen when I found that the initial release didn't fully support simshaker - the ancilleries worked, but the engine vibration didn't due to its being handled by an external program. I never had any doubt that it would be fixed pretty quickly, a2a said as much in their forums but warned that it wasn't the top priority and probably wouldn't make the first update. I made a few flights to confirm that it's otherwise pretty much everything I'd been hoping for (it is 😁), but otherwise confined it to the hangar until happier days. To anybody else in the same position that doesn't yet know, I'm pleased to report that v1.1 has now dropped with full simshaker support... and my cup truly runneth over. It only remains for me to watch the video, probably with the occasional interlude to fly a few circuits. Thanks for taking the time out of your own flying to make and upload this catman, I can only imagine that it must've been particularly challenging this time.
@@JohnVanderbeck - I've seen somebody in the a2a forums saying he'd just made his first flight in the Comanche using his motion rig and it worked better than ever. He didn't say what make the rig is, but I would imagine they all use the same data so it sounds like it'll be fine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and try to keep my jealousy in check.
@@FlyFromHome - Thanks Kitty, and thanks for the video which I've just finished watching. You mentioned that you'd managed to fix the freezing from your Bf109 video, which looked identical to what I've been having for months now. Could you give me any pointers to what worked for you?
What a great video... easily the best informative look at this aircraft out there. Subbed and liked and for sure checking out your videos in the future
It would have to be a bloody good model to beat my previous favourite of the Turbo Arrow, but this one has done it. I’m really racking up the hours in it during my around the world in steam gauge (no GPS) GA only aircraft….errrm slog, yeah I’m going to say slog. Brilliant work by A2A and an excellent review 👏
But let's make it clear, the JF Pipers don't even come close to this. Nothing does and it's logical because this beauty comes with AccuSim technology which calculates a million things outside of MSFS. That's why it feels so different, and it's probably the only aircraft in MSFS that actually makes you feel you're flying a real plane.
@Fly From Home: To add to what you said, A2A actually started with FSX before P3D (and as you mentioned, they also had their own sim and modules to improve the physics of other airplanes on FSX and P3D). Some of them are actual pilots, and one even owns a real Comanche 250. I don't think they were completely silent during all that time. They posted news in their forums, maybe other forums, and other platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Yeah a great aircraft! I have a question… it’s not in the manual. What are remarks? The yellow, blue and white light. It turns on sometimes but idk what it is
I've just seen that the one you said you flew (G-TALF) doesn't fly anymore due to a gear-up landing in the past, I also really like the look of the A2A one in the sim 👍
Yeah although I think somebody is rebuilding it now? Not entirely sure! Yep, she’s a looker for sure. Might have to pick up some flightsim.to liveries to get that ‘as new’ look for a change though 😂
oil coming out of the engine/prop system onto the cowling. Prop pitch is operated by oil pressure, so any leaks would result in oil on the cowling. If you loose your oil pump, you'll loose prop rpm control entirely.
Hm.. not so sure about the Agnes story... Yes, it is true that the hurricane meant the end to the PA-24 and -30 / -39 but apparently the production costs on these airframes were much much higher than on the PA-28 and therefore they didn't move them to Vero Beach. Your video, again, is just amazing, I really enjoyed it.
Interesting! Yeah I’m sure that had an effect on their decision making process, but it’s still sad that we lost such a great aircraft like that. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm about 20 minutes into this one, all we've done is look at the plane in the hanger, and it's already easily the best video about this addon I've seen from anyone. I've been looking forward to your video about it almost as much as I was looking forward to the plane - and according to my screenshots I was downloading it 5 minutes after Scott posted that it was available, so I was looking forward to it a lot ! :) Did the Comanche you flew have the two fiel taps or one single one ? All the real world manuals I can find just talk about "the" fuel tap, and having to choose which tank you want to use. There has been much discussion of "feed from both tanks or one at a time" in the forums, the consensus seems to be that while it's possible to feed from both tanks it's not best practise.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! I don’t remember changing tanks at all in the one I flew so I’m presuming we had the dual taps fitted, but it’s such a long time ago I might be wrong. The A2A documentation says to burn from one side at a time so I presume that’s the correct method as per the PoH.
Hope you enjoy it! Yeah that wet setup was never going to work in a dry race. Shame about Oscar too, but they came away with some decent points overall so I’m not too unhappy 😌
Great review of a great airplane model for FS2020. As of now, it's the best GA airplane for FS2020, not to say it's perfect for everyone. For instance, if I had to choose a personal pet peeve with the model, it would be the rather antiquated (if quite realistic) autopilot. The need for fiddling with trim to keep the autopilot happy at each airspeed change is a bit annoying IMO. The pop-up tablet already has an option (GPS) for modernizing the airplane. If it also offered the option for a more modern autopilot that could trim itself (like 99.9% of us use in real life and/or in flight simming), this would be the ultimate GA airplane for FS2020.
They’ve gone to an enormous amount of effort to model their specific aircraft, but like you say, an option for more modern avionics would be very helpful. Maybe it’ll come as an addon at a later date? Maybe as a Comanche 260 with the fuel injected engine? Either way I’m up for it! (The good thing is that it’s so nice to hand fly I barely ever use the autopilot!)
Anyone notice that on the engine monitoring page in the tablet that sometimes not every cylinder is firing. Is that also the reason that when you're leaning the mixture you're looking for the cylinder(s) that's got the hottest exhaust gas because that means most of the fuel is being consumed per power stroke?
That’s was a bug I think, I don’t notice that happening any more. And you look for the CHT of the hottest cylinder as there’s a safety imposed limit on the temperature, above which you can potentially get cylinder head/piston/valve damage. So you lean until you get close to that limit, then go back a bit for safety 👍🏻
I can’t comment on that because I’ve not tried the older versions! A2A have said that their Accu-sim technology has been updated to version 2.0, so I’d presume that it’s a step forward from the older sims.
Im trying to learn the different GPS options in this bird and am finding it difficult. Last time I flew GPS was still a tickle in a boomers pocket and renting a Warrior was $60/Hr including avgas.. Anyone point me in the correct direction? Hard to imagine a flood causing this plane to stop being made.
To start with you’re best off getting to grips with the default/Working Title Garmin 530 I’d say. The instruction manual is available online with a bit of googling, so give that a read through - most of what you can do in the real thing is implemented in the sim. Good luck!
I don't know if you can be bothered to show what you have set up settings wise, for a Alpha and Bravo, its just of all my aircraft I would like to fly this as close to real life as possible....Great Video hooked on your channel now.
The Bravo is just set up for a default complex SEP, so nothing special on there. Just make sure you got axes set up for throttle, mixture and prop and make sure the gear and flap switches are set up. The Alpha is set up with completely straight sensitivity curves for this aircraft, I don’t find I need any adjustment in that regard. I’d recommend making a profile just for this plane with those settings saved.
@@FlyFromHome Thank you done that now... Very much appreciated as I want to get it right....Look forward to more info in the future on products from you.
Your conclussion is absolutely WRONG!!! Not everything works! The sigaret lighter doesn't function!!! What a broken wothless product, unbelievable, how dare they!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I'm totally kidding, great video. Even if the sigaret lighter doesn't work... :p
Wow - how much did A2A pay you to actively endorse this instead of making an objective real 'review', lol? Funny how A2A's Facebook immediately posted this video right after it appears on TH-cam. Why do you guys do this?
I paid for this addon from my own pocket. I didn’t get anything from A2A and I’m shocked that they even know who we are given that we’re a paltry sub 5k subscriber channel. Is it so hard to believe that I genuinely find it a fantastic product? Perhaps an expert such as yourself can educate me on what glaring weaknesses I’ve managed to miss.
There is a discrepancy between your fuel management procedure and what is recommended in the A2A manual. You fly with both fuel valves open at all times while the manual recommends this on page 61 : "In order to keep the airplane in best lateral trim during cruising, the fuel should be used alternately from each tank." Since you've flown the Comanche in real life, which procedure is the correct one?
I suspect that the A2A info is straight from the PoH, so I presume that’s correct method. As I said, it’s been over a decade since I last flew the Comanche so my memory for these things is hazy, but I don’t remember us alternating the tanks.
@@FlyFromHome Not really important for the sim... I really love the Comanche and favour longer flights in the five hour range, like Rome to Amsterdam. The AP follows the flight plan quite nicely in LO TRACK mode, which minimizes snaking. You just have to give it time to do the turns whilst only banking 2-3 degrees!

Thanks for the info 😊
There's just one thing I miss and that is the option of a more modern autopilot which can be used for IFR flying
Yeah a great aircraft! I have a question… it’s not in the manual. What are remarks? The yellow, blue and white light. It turns on sometimes but idk what it is
They’re marker lights which correspond with marker beacons on instrument approaches. Very few airports in Europe or in the States use them any more.
Yeah it's good that they are still putting TLC into an amazing airplane! Yeah it's almost guaranteed you'll find it on there 👍
great presentation just wondering if you played with the sensitivity settings for your honeycomb yoke thanks!
I just used completely straight sensitivity curves, no adjustments required!
I'm gonna have to take notes to learn as much as possible from this! Btw 1:04:00 what are you looking at in the 2nd prop cycling ?
Three prop movements rpm, oil pressure, oil leak.
oil coming out of the engine/prop system onto the cowling.
That outro music 🥰😎🚁
Hello friend, thks for the stream, how you get green color on board in the cockpit please ? thks
It just comes with the livery. Different liveries have different interiors associated with them.
@@FlyFromHome thks thks sir ! very nice !
Did the Comanche you flew have the two fiel taps or one single one ? All the real world manuals I can find just talk about "the" fuel tap, and having to choose which tank you want to use. There has been much discussion of "feed from both tanks or one at a time" in the forums, the consensus seems to be that while it's possible to feed from both tanks it's not best practise.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video!
I don’t remember changing tanks at all in the one I flew so I’m presuming we had the dual taps fitted, but it’s such a long time ago I might be wrong. The A2A documentation says to burn from one side at a time so I presume that’s the correct method as per the PoH.
Yes! Just the video I need after a long shift 😊
Ps ... Bit of a shame about McLaren today... Glad Lando was able to grab a few points though
Hope you enjoy it!
Yeah that wet setup was never going to work in a dry race. Shame about Oscar too, but they came away with some decent points overall so I’m not too unhappy 😌
How did you convert mph to kts in your head? I only know how to convert between kts and kmph (times two less ten percent)
I’m a certified maths genius, it comes naturally to me.
(Not really, there’s a Kts scale on the inside part of the airspeed indicator 😂)
Great review.
Thanks!
@@FlyFromHome Got it.
Do you have to pay for the 750 navigation?
There’s a free version and a paid version with more features.
I'm interested to know, is the flight model even better than in the FSX or P3D version?
I can’t comment on that because I’ve not tried the older versions! A2A have said that their Accu-sim technology has been updated to version 2.0, so I’d presume that it’s a step forward from the older sims.
Yes I can confirm the flight model is even better then P3d v5.
Good luck!
@@FlyFromHome Ended up with the PMS GTN750. Very happy though I may try the ti version instead of pms.
Nice review, thx.
BTW, 414 is good, but the best GA twin is the Cessna 310 IMO 🤘.
Personally I much prefer the handling of the 414, but that’s just my opinion!
@@FlyFromHome Fair enough. It's also a fine plane.
The ingame 310 is more agile than several ww2 fighters, so yeah, I don't buy it :p. The 414 is a bit of a masterpiece.
@@Karibanu No it's not.
Had me in the first half not gonna lie 😂
Brilliant build on this plane but every time I fly it, it just pitches nearly straight up and I cannot get it to stop.
Try reinstalling?
I love trains
How are you so magnificent? Love your videos
😂 thanks!
Dash8 when?!?!?!?
Who knows… 🤔
you're talking a little too much
I’ll be sure to make silent reviews in the future 🤐
Wow - how much did A2A pay you to actively endorse this instead of making an objective real 'review', lol? Funny how A2A's Facebook immediately posted this video right after it appears on TH-cam. Why do you guys do this?
I paid for this addon from my own pocket. I didn’t get anything from A2A and I’m shocked that they even know who we are given that we’re a paltry sub 5k subscriber channel. Is it so hard to believe that I genuinely find it a fantastic product? Perhaps an expert such as yourself can educate me on what glaring weaknesses I’ve managed to miss.
@@FlyFromHome forget him that guy is a pure clown has no idea my friend what he's talking about brilliant aircraft!!!
Yep, the Comanche is brilliant for flights like that!
What a great video... easily the best informative look at this aircraft out there. Subbed and liked and for sure checking out your videos in the future
Thank you!
