I have a 7.5" rough country lift with 37s on my 2015.5 denali 3500. Its built heavy duty and very nice. Ride is great. I have 12,000 miles on it with no problems. Also, you are comparing a 1500 gas to a 3500 diesel truck. Totally different suspension system and stock ride heights. Anyway, great video with alot of factors to consider
Yes sir a 6 “ will fit a standard garage door. If you don’t want to break your pockets purchase the rough country lift kits . They are pretty good and a very smooth ride .
not to sound pretentious or anything, but whats the point of doing anything? Some people like modding their cars, whether its adding bolt ons, or getting your engine fortified to sustain higher torq or HP or lifting it like crazy. Some people just like how it looks. It doesn't have to have a purpose always. tried to be as respectful as possible brotha!
HOLY CRAP @16:08 you changed my life haha. When I bought my truck it had those metal things on the side and I had no clue what they were for. When you explained what they were, even though that wasn't even the purpose of this video, I looked them up and sure enough I learned that I have brackets for swing cases on both sides! Thanks brotha!
both trucks are dope . I build show trucks for fun and for a living , I tend to stay in the 8" and up myself mainly cause I've had so many 6" suspension 3" body lift trucks that I got tired of doing body lifts , nothing against them good way to clear some bigger tires .
I just like Nice things that I paid for. Riding a 15 2500HD LTZ Z714x4 running on factory but just put ATX Grabber on him to have factory before I lift. Thinking 4.5 or 5 because I still tow and haul on my Ranch. Love the channel.
Good things to consider! I am struggling with the decision between 4" and 6". A little embarrassing after watching this. But it is a lot of money, and I'm old. Inches matter!
thanks for the info. i just put a 2/5 leaveling kit on my 4wheel drive 2017 Ram 1500 blacked out . i love it . its a huge difference . i am about to put 33 inch tires on the bad boy with led halos lights. and change the taillights too. cant wait . keep up the good work and cant wait for the next vlog.
I randomly came across your channel a month ago and already am realizing how popular your business is. I’m assuming you operate out of California. I’m in Washington State and have seen 2 or 3 trucks in this past month with Work For It apparel. I like it. Good work!
You need to compare apples to apples A 1/2 ton truck is going to ride smoother than a heavy duty truck to start with a lifted 1/2 ton will ride closer to a stock height HD truck
2021 Silverado 1500 RST stock tires 275/60/R20 Bridgestone Dueler. I am thinking of doing a 2" lift so about 3 1/2 in front and 2 in the back. What you think???
hows the handling with 35s? i had a 2000 wrangler with 36 on a 5-1/2" long arm lift and it floated around above 40. maintaining a lane above 50 was straight scary. had hydraulic assist steering too. now i got a 2017 chevy colorado and wanna fuck with it but dont want it to be like my jeep. its my everyday driver here in brooklyn but offroad on weekends
I don't know what to get either. I have an 89 Silverado 1500 and want 35s or 37s. At least a 4" lift but prefer the 6" can I clear 37s on a 6" lift? Just normal driving and turning.
I have a 00 Mercury mountaineer rwd 5.0, I want to lift it. I have options of torsion twist, add a leave, shackles, spindle, I think an axle over leaf set up, or body lift. I want to put on at least 31-33 tops, but be safe. Which route do you think I should go? How do I know what size wheel and tire to get to make the tire flush with the wheel well too? I usually drive cars, this is my first suv. Thank you for your time and if you reply ty again.
I have the 2021 GMC at4 with the 2” factory lift. Does that mean i need a 4” lift to get it at the height as the black GMC? Or did your buddy’s truck had a 2” as well.
I know the video is almost a year old now I have a 08 Sierra Crew Cab short box for before I'm interested in putting a 5 or 6 inch lift what would you prefer I don't want to screw up the drivetrain too bad
I thought I heard you say you had flagpole kits on your website, no? If not, where is a place to get a good truck flagpole kit that doesn't consist of bailing wire, zip ties, and duct tapping...and won't destroy my truck?
I personally would only get about a 4 or so inch lift maximum just for bumper clearance and so forth and for looks. This way I can also get by with running stock wheels. Another big reason is because I live in Minnesota and snow blazing never gets old and plowing snow with any lift will be easier than stock ride height. Another reason being that when you get extreme lifts on any vehicle it can be hard on some chassis related things since you are putting things at angles that they were never meant to be at. Just my opinion good vid though.
What about making a left U Turn at the stop lights?I have a 7inch lift with 20x12-44's on 33's I have to drive a little to the right first then turn full crank to barely make it. How about you guys??
I have a lbz 2500 with a 6in sub frame lift on 35s I am either going lower it down to a 4in lift woth 33s or just take it down to stock with a level kit , i bought it with the lift a few years ago and i am wanting better ride and better fuel
I have a 2002 Ford F350 4x4 long bed (non dually) that has all around leaf spring suspension from the factory. Is a leaf spring suspension easier and lower cost to lift than other types of suspension systems?
Love video just bought a tundra 2018 going to put a lift kit on it not right now but later on and you guys addressed a lot of things that I wondered about especially the garage. I did think it was funny that Chris didn't trust you enough when pulling into the garage that made me laugh very good video I will subscribe to your TH-cam channel for sure.
Hey I got 2017 sierra 1500 what are your suggestions about lift and what wheels not too much but not too little and sound too and lights what are your suggestion and safe for the truck
I ran a 4inch with 35 kelly safari tires they rubbed bad so went to 8 inch but then i bought 38.5 ground hogs they rubbed a little so i went to a 18 inch with 44 inch boggers no rub loved that truck short box chevy high siera 1978 it was a bad ass truck wish i wouldn't have sold it but i did now i want another one. They all had rancho suspension lifts all spring lifts last one the 18 was custom made loved the RS 9,000 and 12,000 adjust 5 ways on the fly.
I am trying to lift mine I will have fat boy tire it's currently rubbing when you turn the tires are 285/70r/17 I want to lift it but don't know if i should go with 4 or 6
I have a 2003 Nissan Frontier. I want to put a 3" body lift kit on it what kit do I need to buy? What would be the max height to put a 2003 Nissan Frontier?
For the same reason those who can afford buy a Lamborghini or Ferrari. They probably never gonna run it at max speed on track mode but they still get them
j CT203 What offset, wheel/tire size were you running? Also did you ever off road? Iv had two fabtech lifts and just Bought a 17 sierra that the dealership lifted and they used a RC lift. I do know the off set has a lot to do with most of the broken tie rods. If I had a choice I would have went with a BDS.
Jon 88 i have 2" wheel spacers my rims are offset im not sure how much theyr a little deep, theyre 245/75 15 tires they rub a little. everything was great for the first year and after that everyrhing keeps breaking over and over im actually getting rid of it you interested? lmao
I have been thinking of lifting. I have a 99 f350. Thinking of a 4 lift. Just the bigger leaf springs all the way around. Do cheap lift kits tend to break parts?
Are your pickups Asphalt Queens? I respect if that’s it. I think you should take your truck out and see what your limitations are. Having fun but also taking care of your ride. Agree or Disagree?
Hey guys, thanks for the video and all the great info. However, is it possible to do a 6 inch lift kit and still pull a fifth wheel with a super duty diesel truck?
Hey man. Did you change your front end. In the towing toy hauler pic the truck had a chrome grill and black mirrors and your truck has painted grill and chrome tow mirrors. Did anyone else notice that
I have to ask, when u have a crew cab with 6 ft bed on a half-ton-framed truck is it unstable? Meaning is the smaller frame of a 1500 truck strong enough to hold it?
Vince Vansanten id be afraid it would start rusting and split someday, i got a regular cab short bed and im starting to rust out bad, we have a 3500 regular cab long bed that rusted and snapped in half :(
What's a safe lift or part to install on the gmc as they have AWD option and keep the front differential at a good angle. Alot of the kits say not for awd.
I gave this vid a thumbs up, you took the time to shoot it, edit it, and upload..and as a life long truck guy support anybody's vision of what they want in a truck...HOWEVER...I've building race cars and street performance cars and trucks all my life since the age of 16. We NEVER do something for looks, every suspension change, shock replacement, wheel off-set and such is designed to improve the performance either road racing or desert running so installing a vehicle lift that makes any or all of that worse just doesn't make sense to me at all...My personal truck a 2wd dessert prerunner is run within its designed capabilities and is still in great shape after so many desert trips I've lost count along with pitting/chasing for Baja racing motorcycles. Thanks for the vid, wish you nothing but good luck!
Jared Burke to me, 20’s only look good on 37” tires or bigger which would require a decent lift. That’s just my opinion. It’s your truck though, build it the way you want!
When you put bigger tires than the stock tires you end up putting your speedometer off so like you might see the speedometer saying 50 but really you might only be going 30mph it depends on how far off from stock size
I am confused about something. I have a 2001 2500 with 5.9L 24V. I am 5'8" and my top of bed and door handle are at my chin height. Yet my truck is stock. Yours doesn't seem that much higher in comparison to your height. What gives?
Well glad to see your back at it. Hope you found your dog and I hope all is well bro! Next lifted Chevy you need a bed slide. Makes loading lifted trucks sooo much easier
hi, Nice comparison, by the way =) I plan to lift my 2011 F-250 but i really don´t like if someone drives behind my truck and my rear axle sticks out... I don´t like the gap between the axle and the truck ... do anyone know how far i can get that that woun´t happen ? I live in Germany ... lifted trucks are extremly rare and i dont have any comparison . Best Nils from Germany
I feel your pain... Car washes: Nose - in back - out... Low Brige in Sector = Plan your route around it... Low - bar Wal-Marts :Drive Around Drive thru = walk up Some Malls are Impossible... hey man what are some good lift kits to get such as brands to go with I just got a new truck but have been dying to start making moves to make the truck look better
Congrats on 50k man, huge inspiration to me as i just started and have been making videos on my lifted dodge dakota and dirtbikes. Keep it up man your content is as good if not better then channels with 500k!
im looking into getting a 4-5' lift but i dont have enough money to get tires and rims at the same time do you think i would be fine with stock for awhile ??????and what brand do you think would be the best to get ???
Gold standard
6”=35 tire
8”=37 tire
12”=40 tire
End of day your choice just helpful info
My ram fits 35 x 12.5 leveled
ChrisCG rams typically soak up bigger tires a lot better than other trucks
What about a 4?
2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD fits 35 inch tires w/ minor trimming
3/4 inch lift? (Dumb question, but I'm new to trucks lol)
Why does Chris look like he going to punch him.😂😂😂😂😂
yessten123 hahaha hell yeah i was thinking the same
Prolly got a lip in lmao
yessten123 ✌🏻
😂😂😂😂😂
Yessten318 at 9:45 when he says “with those 35’s he’s gonna lose some power” he turns right around and glares lmao
Hit him Chris. Do it.
Lmfao
I have a 7.5" rough country lift with 37s on my 2015.5 denali 3500. Its built heavy duty and very nice. Ride is great. I have 12,000 miles on it with no problems. Brad King any problems with your kit? ive been thinkin of buyin a 6 inch kit from rough country as well for my gmc sierra
Haha same question for ya, really looking hard at the 7.5 for 2011+ 2500HD.
Still going strong? Any regrets, would change anything?
Yes sir a 6 “ will fit a standard garage door. If you don’t want to break your pockets purchase the rough country lift kits . They are pretty good and a very smooth ride .
Do u have any insight on the ruff country 7.5” lift?
They got the Jay and Silent Bob thing going pretty well.
6 inch lift is perfect. The 12 is just too much. Looks bad IMO.
James Christoff I think 12 is Perfect I have an 8 inch now I like it but I wish I went a lot taller
@@legofeak12 whats the point in going that high anyways?
not to sound pretentious or anything, but whats the point of doing anything? It doesn't have to have a purpose always. tried to be as respectful as possible brotha!
My 350 is a 12 inch lift and my excursion is a 6 inch lift.
But yes 12 inch is a pain especially to find parking
One thing you didn't mention is fuel mileage. How much do you lose by going with a bigger lift and tires? And can it be mitigated by tuning?
Black truck better
I’m torn between a BDS 6 and 8 inch. I feel like 35s would look goofy on an 8. It’s a 2018 Silverado 1500. But feel like 6 won’t be big enough 🤣
Do the rear tires on the white duramax look bigger than the front?
Yea I think lol,the ones in the back look bigger than the front ones
HOLY CRAP @16:08 you changed my life haha. When I bought my truck it had those metal things on the side and I had no clue what they were for. What 10 inch lift do you recommend
I just like Nice things that I paid for. Riding a 15 2500HD LTZ Z714x4 running on factory but just put ATX Grabber on him to have factory before I lift. Thinking 4.5 or 5 because I still tow and haul on my Ranch. Love the channel.
Dude you were just lift shaming him the whole time
Good things to consider! I am struggling with the decision between 4" and 6". A little embarrassing after watching this. But it is a lot of money, and I'm old. Inches matter!
I am in the same situation. Can’t decide between 4 or 6
What did you guys go with ? I’m struggling between a 4inch cognito and 7inch cognito
Ryan, you can run a fifth wheel set-up but you have to get an independent fifth wheel hitch that hooks up to your normal hitch
It looks like that dude behind you is pissed .
The bounce is what I look forward to every time I get in my truck bro.
thanks for the info. i just put a 2/5 leaveling kit on my 4wheel drive 2017 Ram 1500 blacked out . i love it . its a huge difference . i am about to put 33 inch tires on the bad boy with led halos lights. and change the taillights too. cant wait . keep up the good work and cant wait for the next vlog.
ive got a 4 inch lift and 33s on my truck
Same bro👊🏼
Gonna get those next tires
Aiden Carpenter nice!
I think 35s would look better on a 4 inch lift
I know I'm late but what kind of truck?
I randomly came across your channel a month ago and already am realizing how popular your business is. I’m assuming you operate out of California. I’m in Washington State and have seen 2 or 3 trucks in this past month with Work For It apparel.

My 12.5 rims use to rub a lil so I put on 3 inch wheel spacers. Now no more rub.
Great video thanks for the info. I have an 08 Chevy. Can’t wait to get a new truck I’m thinking about getting a diesel.
2021 Silverado 1500 RST stock tires 275/60/R20 Bridgestone Dueler. I am thinking of doing a 2" lift so about 3 1/2 in front and 2 in the back. What you think???

Im picking a stock 09 or 16 chevy silverado 1500 crew. Putting a 9 inch lift with 37 12.5 x 20s
The gmc looks better...
This really did help I’ve been deciding what I wanna do and now I feel 7 inch kit won’t be to crazy on 35s

Heck yea! I wanted 37” tires so I got a 7” max trac for my 04 dodge 1500

dude. the flag on your driver's rear window. PLEASE tell me where you got that. it's amazing.
Cameron Rice he made it in a previous video
Okay, thank you. I'll go digging.
Did you ever find a flag detail like that?? I really want it😂
Bearbait01 it’s the “will this stop me from getting pulled over.” The thumbnail is him pointing to the window.
Whats the best lift kit for a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4wd I have some 22x14s to put on the truck
I have a 2003 Nissan Frontier. I want to put a 3" body lift kit on it what kit do I need to buy? What would be the max height to put a 2003 Nissan Frontier?
What's the point in getting your truck lifted with mud tires to never take it off-road
Some like the way it looks. Same difference as buying performance parts for a car and not taking it to the track.
Bet you feet dumb now huh
Umm maybe because he what’s it that way stupid
Well after blowing up and destroying my trucks off road.... if its not a beater my truck will go no where near the skitters
For the same reason those who can afford buy a Lamborghini or Ferrari. They probably never gonna run it at max speed on track mode but they still get them
Diff gear change with large tires? Correcting speedometer with big tires?
I do Garage doors for a living if you have the height just go for a 8' door when you build or buy a house :D
i had 35's on 20in wheel on my 2016 F250 with 4.5 lift went to 6in 4 link and 37's... on a ford the 35's look small. keep the videos coming bro!!!
What about a 6.5 bds coilover with 375/45r22. Would trimming stop all rubbing
i went rough country... break tie rods ends every month and change tires and axles every 6 months.
j CT203 same here
j CT203 What offset, wheel/tire size were you running? Also did you ever off road? Iv had two fabtech lifts and just Bought a 17 sierra that the dealership lifted and they used a RC lift. j CT203 haha man I'll have to pass on that one!
I have been thinking of lifting. I have a 99 f350. Thinking of a 4 lift. Just the bigger leaf springs all the way around. Do cheap lift kits tend to break parts?
7-9 mcgaughy's set at 8" rolling on 35x12.5r22 is what I got
What's the brand of lift kits you guys are using? Trying to lift my truck
Are your pickups Asphalt Queens? I respect if that’s it. I think you should take your truck out and see what your limitations are. Having fun but also taking care of your ride. Agree or Disagree?
Best of both worlds... 7.5 inch on 37" 😎
Damn his truck loook bad ass .. does he have a chanel
Hey guys, thanks for the video and all the great info. However, is it possible to do a 6 inch lift kit and still pull a fifth wheel with a super duty diesel truck?
Why doesn’t the black truck look lifted? It looks like my stock 08’ 2500 HD 4x4
I have a stock 97 2wd 2.3l Ford Ranger... I just want it to sit level with beefy tires, but I’m a noob lol
Benjamin Masters
I have the 2016 silverado double cab lifted 1500 with 6.5 bed and everything fine, even with 8" on 37s
Vince Vansanten id be afraid it would start rusting and split someday, i got a regular cab short bed and im starting to rust out bad, we have a 3500 regular cab long bed that rusted and snapped in half :(
How many mpg do you guys get on your trucks? And also what mods have you done to improve gas mileage?
24NeverGameUp7 the merica flag
Mike Molina didn't answer my question. I was asking. @DMAXRYNO
24NeverGameUp7 He said in a video. It's titled "how I get such great gas mileage."
Cody Robinson I saw that vid already
24NeverGameUp7 why
What's a safe lift or part to install on the gmc as they have AWD option and keep the front differential at a good angle. Alot of the kits say not for awd.
I'm sitting on a 3.5 and clear 35s, could go 37s with my flat fenders without rubbing
I gave this vid a thumbs up, you took the time to shoot it, edit it, and upload..and as a life long truck guy support anybody's vision of what they want in a truck...HOWEVER...I've building race cars and street performance cars and trucks all my life since the age of 16.

Can you show/make a video showing how the truck scrapes???
What would be a good lift kit for a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins, I want to put 20 by 12s on it not sure the tire size I want nothing huge.
Jared Burke to me, 20’s only look good on 37” tires or bigger which would require a decent lift. That’s just my opinion. It’s your truck though, build it the way you want!

Glad you’re ok bro. Just watched the accident video and just wanna say thanks for wearing your seatbelt and not drinking.
I currently have a 5” lift. If I replace it with a 7” lift will it be a significant difference?
Does having bigger tires and bigger rims make your truck higher?
I am confused about something. I have a 2001 2500 with 5.9L 24V. I am 5'8" and my top of bed and door handle are at my chin height. Yet my truck is stock. Yours doesn't seem that much higher in comparison to your height. What gives?
can you put a 6" lift on a 2017 silverado LT 2x4 truck or does it have to be 4x4? thanks for the help!
Can you raise the truck via airbags with a Max payload?
how much did your rims cost you and where did you buy them. Im shopping around for the same ones.
Well glad to see your back at it. Hope you found your dog and I hope all is well bro! Next lifted Chevy you need a bed slide. Makes loading lifted trucks sooo much easier
@dmaxryno soooo when would you ever consider/recommend a 7.5 rough country lift..? Or just simply never..?

Low Brige in Sector = Plan your route around it...
Low - bar Wal-Marts :Drive Around
Drive thru = walk up

Tires = 22.5 low pro or it gets harder... × 18 Wheels...
Getting in = the rule is a 3 point Contact for getting into a "Big Truck" especially on ice. You might look into getting a grab bar on the passenger side mounted between the dash and the door... frame...driver's side too...
And then there's Tire Chains ...
