TALKI truth dream via Bengaluru Drama | Rangayana Kalaburagi | one Act Play Overview

Truth Dream Project:
Truth Dream Project was conceived by Chandni, the Director of Payana
Organisation in the memory of Payana’s founding member Reginald
Watts (Rex) in 2021. The idea was to create a platform where the dreams of
trans-community members can come true. After fighting for
their survival, rights, and dignity for years, their dreams often
remain unfulfilled. It is fascinating that the dream of most of these
transwomen was to become like their favorite film heroines which
is also their first identification with their gender identity. Payana
organized a photoshoot where 12 members of trans-community
who were over 55 years old dressed up like their dream actors and
actresses. The project was initiated with a photo exhibition and a
dance performance at Bangalore International Centre.
About Payan:
PAYANA is a community owned and managed organization which seeks
to highlight the involvement of community through a transparent process
in undertaking community development.
PAYANA works in tandem with society in its development processes. This
is done by providing forward and backward linkages to the community
and the society as well, leading to recognition, acceptance and inclusion
in the larger society. The sexuality minority community hopes to work
not only for their own empowerment but hopes to be instrumental in
removing all forms of marginalization from the society.
