everyone here seems to think Gelya is doing gymnastics as the main thing and is ready to go international competitions tomorrow
    NOPE
Since no international competitions, many older successful gymnasts are spending a lot of the time pursuing other endeavors, and don't spend as much time in gym as they did when competing internationally. Local competitions have also always been about trying different things and seeing what worked, rather than rehearsing the exact routine they'd enter for international medal contention.

Obviously, I understand why the world has shot the door for Russia, at the same time as I wish there was a way to get Putin and his government to suffer the consequences of their acts without involving the Russian people. I'm so glad she made the absolute most of that last season they got to compete internationally, and was awarded with a gold medal in both the Tokyo Olympics and Worlds that year..

I agree, but I’ll just say, the vast majority of the world either agrees with or is indifferent to Russia’s actions. It’s only most of Europe and Anglophone countries that disapprove. The unfair disproportionate influence of the West is what has permitted this discrimination against civilians based upon nationality.

America and other countries will substitute shells for Ukraine. They, in turn, shelled Belgorod before the New year on December 30. To the square where the children were. They are shooting directly at a peaceful object. We have killed more than 200 civilians. More than 1,000 people were injured. Thanks to the USA and other countries

America has killed millions of Iraqis, and they were never shut out of the Olympics....

If you say you “understand” you actually don’t understand even surface level. The US is corrupt and they have their hands all over the Olympics. This is just another tactic to sanction Russia. Somehow Israel is participating after killing 180k civilians! Something Russia has never done. It’s disgusting!

It’s not obvious at all. The western world hasn’t shut the door for Israel and USA. They will find the way to ban Chinese athletes soon they already treat them like trash and test them 10 times a day. USA is imperialist and will not tolerate anyone upstaging them.

She's a beautiful gymnast to watch but I've seen her perform way better than this.I d k what's going on with her but every single one of her tumbling passes was extremely short on the landing as in very under rotated. But her Leo was beautiful. Her Music Choice was excellent and her form.On the thing she was able to complete was very good

She’s hurt. She’s limping after the routine.

    • @justlina2769
      @justlina2769 หลายเดือนก่อน

She has upped the difficulty of her tumbling passes and that makes her more tired at the end in addition to being harder throughout the routine. Ain't exactly rocket science.

They may be unmotivated to train hard knowing they cannot compete internationally.

I was expecting better choreography from the Russians, and strength. Just a fan for decades, but she was lacking in something in her passes.

They are in a Neutral flag. But the news say they wont bcuz they are loyal to the country. Yeah right!? But some pro athletes are competing like on Tennis who are probably have residence outside outside Russia thats why they have no fear.

    • @PinoyMN

No - They have not competed in any of the Olympic qualifying events, so they cannot compete in Paris. There was a very narrow route created by the FIG and other governing bodies that essentially rendered Team Russia ineligible. A core guideline was that athletes refrain from endorsing or being involved with the military attacks in Ukraine. To name two examples: Angelina Melnikova's displaying a "Z" symbol at a military rally and Nikita Nagornyy's role in leading a unit of the youth army would have disqualifed them from eligibility. Knowing this, Team Russia did not even attempt to qualify.

The lady Gaga music is cute. Love the pink Leo but hated seeing her wince in those landings. I really have seen her perform beautifully but this wasn’t her best. If she is injured I pray she heals well. Her turns are extremely pretty.

The USSR no longer exists. Just Russia. The rest of those territories that were "annexed" were done illegally.

I wish they just compete as neutral. But I understand that they are afraid of being marked disloyal to Putin and the country. So sad the time flying and they will never experience Worlds and Olympica for the current athletes.

This wouldn't be competitive in NCAA meets, much less the Olympics. She's a very pretty dancer, but her actual gymnastics skills are weak.

try to think, is it easy to perform without competition, is it easy to find motivation to be on the edge
