Yes that is the case but she's still training to her highest lever so it makes me wonder if she has a bigger goal in mind. There is only 2 big Russian competitions per year and the stake is not very high.

I agree. I'm American, and I don't agree with banning Russian athletes. Competing neutrally could be considered an act of treason, and they can be sent to a penal colony. It's not fair to push people to make that kind of decision. Moreover, the Israeli flag bearer sent rockets to the Gaza strip, and Israel is not banned even after bombing Gaza and prolonging occupation. If a standard is applied, it should apply to everyone.

Well, there's more sports in the summer games than gymnastics. They aren't allowed to compete in any sport. Gymnastics should be no different. It's unfortunate because I don't think it's legit competition in gymnastics without Russia. They're always a contender for a medal.

I do feel for her athletes though. Heartbreaking and unhelpful to have someone refuse to take accountability for widespread doping and the invasion alike. I really wish the Russian gymnasts to attend this year Olympics regardless of the conditions and the potential judging from possible sources. I feel like the gymnasts themselves really deserve the opportunity to be able to earn the medals like other gymnasts in the world. As I am writing this, I do not take sides in the ongoing current events as my primary goal in writing this is purely for the gymnasts themselves.
