No, I cannot agree with that. There is a tendency by some people to trash singers who are attractive, thinking that they got where they are on looks alone. But there are a whole LOT of female singers active today who are also very talented (for example, Dua Lipa, Ava Max, Norah Jones, Kacey Musgraves, Pink, … I could go on).

As a budding musician in the 60’s, I was attracted to stuff like this, even from childhood. Bacharach, Jim Webb and Brian Wilson provided other rich, harmonic delights. Goodness knows where a youngster interested in harmonic musical progressions in popular culture would go to nowadays.
People make fun of this tune and call it elevator music, but I seriously rate it among the best melodies composed in the 20th century.

Goodness knows where a youngster interested in harmonic musical progressions in popular culture would go to nowadays.
