    I've seen the other videos where Hakeem is practicing with Lebron, Melo, and Amare, and it's clear that Kobe's overall mechanics are much more fluid compared to these others.

    • @THEMANCURTIS
      @THEMANCURTIS 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I totally agree. Those players that you mention are not fluid players

    • @Daolmec
      @Daolmec 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct.

    • @isaiahthomas1649
      @isaiahthomas1649 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Hakeem was a 280 pound center and his post moves are far more fluid than LeBron, Melo, And Dwight

    • @THEMANCURTIS
      @THEMANCURTIS 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Isaiah Thomas
      You are correct. All these guys are not fluid in their moves. The just try to over power

    • @EnduringArts

      Isaiah Thomas He was only around 250 pounds.

    Kobe is smarter than other guys in learning skills.

  • @RenBush301

    Kobe is a student of the game. Look how easily he learns all these moves.

  • @theletterj

    Kobe is the closest out of anyone I've seen working with Hakeem to mirroring his footwork.

    • @roidfer
      @roidfer 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      agree, I like the smoothness of Kobe's move and footworks

    • @Sw0nk0
      @Sw0nk0 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea, and Kobe is 6'6 and Hakeem is like 6'11 7'0, that tells you how special he is.

    • @roidfer
      @roidfer 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hakeem likes the smoothness of Howard's move, but it is Kobe who mirrored more of his footworks, Kobe has great footwork skills

    • @andrjuska9556
      @andrjuska9556 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kobe is also closest out of anyone to mirror Michael Jordan's footwork.

    • @roidfer

      he advance more from Michael Jordan's footwork, he has the greatest footwork now on the NBA,

    Since pickin this move up I have been dominant against guards. I thought to myself how I could be dominant as a guard with a decent three pointer and decent handles and I found this vid and now it's been so simple to score against guards since they have no post IQ

    • @dsg3053

      Underrated post

  • @rakinruldude14
    @rakinruldude14 10 ปีที่แล้ว +40

    hakeems moves are not that hard to learn. what's hard is how he executes it. he is just so smooth, he makes everything look so easy and simple in one swift motion.

    • @seductivemistres8744
      @seductivemistres8744 8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      his falling away jumpers is so insane

    • @socalclippers1
      @socalclippers1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      rakinruldude14 it's not the moves themselves. It's learning how to set up counters and be ready to have like 3 to 4 moves before you catch the ball. Dream was just awesome at that. Just the simplicity he showed against Robinson. Wow.

    • @socalclippers1
      @socalclippers1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seductive Mistres I tried to master that step back fade away from the baseline falling out of bounds when I was young in Jr high. I worked on it so much I had it down. It was unstoppable and coaches couldn't believe a little guy like me(5'6 at the time) could get that move down over bigger guys. I felt awesome. Can't imagine what these NBA guys must feel.

    • @nigelchiwanga2501
      @nigelchiwanga2501 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    KOBE is Olajuwon's best student and he's a guard. Dwight is his worst and he's a Center. smh the NBA today would get Murdered by the NBA in the 90's

    • @rsingh5887
      @rsingh5887 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      you gotta remember though due to the new rules implemented by the nba a few years back gives more leverage to guard play than forwards/centers.

    The Dream is such a master. Just look at it! Even Kobe, one of the top 3 shooting guards of all time, learns from the most fluid center of all time! Hakeem still is the man in the middle! Gosh I hate the fact I'm so young I was barely able to see players like Olajuwon and Jordan to play...

  • @jayspur4083
    @jayspur4083 9 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    This move is soooo freaking difficult to do which makes it impossible to defend against.
    Hakeem is truly one of the best , if not the best Center to ever play the game.
    His moves transcends to every position in a basketball team.
    Even guards learn from him.
    Which begs the question- Where did Hakeem get these moves from?
    Genius? You bet!

    I couldn't stand Kobe as player, but he was an excellent STUDENT of the game. He gets it. He understood the way of learning, adding, and changing your game in a way that you don't use as much energy. Yet, you maintain the same EFFECTIVENESS. That was how the 80's and 90's separated themselves. They were supremely gifted in similar ways as these athletes today, but they were students of the game and coachable until their last game.

    If you watch closely hakeem all he says is to push suddenly with the toe on the front leg to make more space on the shot between you and the defender but suddenly and fast.your body must be leaning forward without showing that you are gonna fade away.foot and body must fade real fast and really backwards when you decide to shoot

      Demian Tello Nope you little kid. There were no video tapes back then and most of Dr J's games in the ABA are not available anywhere or where they aired. And Dr J did NOT have a post up game or a pull up jumpshot. I hate to see you apply this logic when you have to find a real job one day instead of your current $7/hr you have now.

      at1212 b Don't be such a goddamn moron. Kobe and all the stars in today's game know the fundamentals since at least High School if not in middle school.
      And way to assume what kind of job he has. To assume is to make an ass out of you and me. Don't make an ass of yourself.

    I bet that arab guy with the beard moves better than these new generation of basketball players, obviously he would if he's being taught by Hakeem.

    Dude, Hakeem has too many moves. All these videos show tons of variants and it's just the post game! Damn Michael Jordan. I was too busy watching him and missed a lot of Hakeem.
