Does anyone notice how very little talking Kobe does? He's trying to take in as much as he can hint. He know how to take coaching and learning from one of the greats.
San Hovy if there’s anything Kobe’s death teaches us all,is the difference from a man whom haters call selfish to a man who is probably the most willing learner
Fav story was at him and Garnett's first All-Star game, he took them aside to straight give them his defensive secrets, Kobe didn't say shit and Garnett, known for being a defensive genius always trying to become even greater, stfu for probably the first time in his life as The Glove shared every defensive trick he knew. Then they'd always call each other after they pulled them off in the game to see if the other saw, like they were part of some secret club.
Lol Kobe had 10s of millions of dollars and Hakeem had alot of $$ to, it woudnt surprise me at all , if he’s not even charging Kobe, and he’s literally just doing it to help him out, and even if he was charging him which I don’t blame him, that’s nothing compared to what Kobe has or makes, Kobe literally prob makes more then that for 1 normal practice or 1 single game or day LOL, I don’t think jones worrying about paying $ for a practice my guy
Kobe learn from all LEGENDS... Me seing a Legend: Ooo, picture, hand-shake, etc Kobe: U shom me urmoves i master them better andlater ikick ur ass with ur own moves...
Its so freaking true! And its fun to try to put them into your game! I do this particular move now as a Guard when I'm working in the post and it absolutely works!!!!
Hakeem seems to be in the same shape than in the mid 90s when he dominated everything with his combination of agility and power. fantastic sportsman. should be a NBA coach i suggest.
It's amazing that a 6'6 guard would be the one to master Hakeem's post moves the best out of all the centers and small/power forwards who he taught. Also, that class of 96' was the perfect class because all the legends from the 80's were older but still good enough to challenge and compete with the new school era. They were able to learn so much from them before they aged out and retired.
You can tell Kobe is really trying to learn the moves and has learned a lot of moves from Hakeem because we see it in his game when he plays. Other players who've learned from Hakeem like, Lebron, Dwight, and Stoudamire don't use any of the moves taught by argueably the best center to ever lace them up.
+jsong21 Kobe utilizes them the best and is easily the best post up SG/SF in the game....Lebron utilizes them sometimes not as much since he's still super athletic, Stat is starting ti use them more since his athleticism is going...Dwight doesn't ever use them like at all..his move is still just try to out power or running baby hook
+Ricky Adams Not really... Lebron, you can tell, dislikes post play. He wants to be a point guard, not a post player. Kobe WANTS to be in the post, so he studies every single detail taught by Hakeem and practices over and over and over until it's second nature. It isn't second nature to the other guys because they don't have as much desire or give the amount of attention that Kobe did to truly learn all that stuff. In my opinion, Kobe, Jordan, & Hakeem in terms of post fundamentals are the three greatest in that area (in no particular order).
For anyone watching this, these are two of the greatest legends! Kobe was a legend learning from another one. This is more than just basketball. It’s the humility of these two men being able to acknowledge and respect one another’s game. I wish was their to watch it not for the basketball but for the moment of what it teaches to so many other men and women about connection and humility.
I think Kobe’s willingness to learn from others that may be better at a certain skill than him is what separates him. He doesn’t talk at all during this and just absorbs everything he can from Hakeem
Thank you for updating the channel more frequently. If you have anymore of these videos, I'd appreciate it if you would upload more of them, I'm sure as well as other fans :)
compare this to the same video with dwight and the difference is obvious. Kobe WANTS to learn whatever, anything and everything he can. Mamba mentality all the way!
One thing, I do see the younger players of today using some of Hakeem's moves. They have to do it in their own ways and usually it's not a smooth, but they are implementing the basics of what he did with the Dream Shake, for example. Kobe was the one of the next generation after Hakeem that could actually COPY, what Hakeem did.
Hakeem Is a genius , his basketball IQ is out of this world , You can tell Kobe is Post moves got hell of allot better after 09 , Unlike Dwight who even after being taught by the dream can't use a single move but realize on his damn dunks.
Haha my go to move playing pick up. Once you hit someone with that spin, it makes it so much easier to get to the middle for your hook. The Dream truly is the post-up master, for every move he has a counter. His size, agility, footwork and touch was (by the looks of this video still is) too much to handle.
WOW!!! The Dream has so many moves it's ridiculous. Big men in the NBA today need to be at this camp every off-season. The coaches and management should make it mandatory for them.
You're kidding (I hope) ... Kobe's got great hands, save for that turnover in game 2 of 2012 semis vs. OKC, I don't recall him dropping many passes or mishandling the rock too often throughout his career; and Hakeem had awesome hands, too ... again, I think soccer laid the foundation for their footwork ... don't believe me, Google "A night of candor with Craig Hodges" ... peace
If you watch the players learning under Hakeem or any one else you will see that most players want to replicate it with speed. Because of that not only do they have sloppy technique. They also change of the technique in order to move faster. But kobe takes the time to replicate it slowly. Which shows he just doesn't want to look good. He wants to learn the move correctly I hope people understand that slower is faster sometimes.
Soccer sets the foundation for b-ball fundamentals ... playing soccer, you have to be able to dribble and shoot the ball with your left and right foot ... that carries over to basketball
I feel like Kobe had these moves before. But going to Hakeem gave him more refined practice and understanding of how and WHEN to use them. Another thing is other players won't integrate them into their game. They'll try to make it their own. Do it their own way. I think it's due to their lack of discipline to hone the fundamentals.
i love kobe, his game is unbelievebable but right now, bro rules, he may not have a complete offensive skillset like kobe does, but he dominates with his atletism and raw strenght
Though you sent me an IM, I'm gonna respond in public ... "ball" sports start w/good balance, which is predicated on good footwork (did you take 10 min. to read the Craig Hodges article?) ... think of the great shooters past and present ... most of them weren't great "athletes" but they had one thing in common, balance ... the BEEF acronym (balance, elbow, eye, follow-through) begins with "balance" for a reason ... you may not like Kobe, but he's been blessed with great balance ... peace
If Hakeem really lost some weight he can play in today's game. Especially since centers are weak. I say he can get at least 10 Points - 8 Rebounds - 2 Blocks a game.
Does anyone notice how very little talking Kobe does? He's trying to take in as much as he can hint. He know how to take coaching and learning from one of the greats.
Yeah thats what i'm saying bru. Kobe is m fav player so i know he works hard for what he's got and accomplished.
Yea cause he's paying Hakeem a crap ton of money for a session...I'd shut up and listen too!
San Hovy if there’s anything Kobe’s death teaches us all,is the difference from a man whom haters call selfish to a man who is probably the most willing learner

Hakeem looks like he could still own most centers in the league today
definitly!
Deante Daniel prove me wrong bitch
Are you serious? Are you really truly serious? Because if so, then I don't even want to have this conversation.
Deante Daniel yeah we are done, you have no prove to back your argument, i do, i win
No you haven't proved anything at all. I'm not engaging in this argument BECAUSE we can't prove it.
the best among all the hakeem's students
Just because he was thirsty to learn
True indeed.
Not really hakeem moves favor bigger players Kobe functioned more in the high post
Damn right!
No one utilized my post lessons better than Kobe Bryant - Hakeem Olajuwon
Kobe learn from all LEGENDS...
Me seing a Legend: Ooo, picture, hand-shake, etc
Kobe: U shom me urmoves i master them better andlater ikick ur ass with ur own moves...
If you love playing basketball, you can't watch this and not get excited.
agreed
Its so freaking true! And its fun to try to put them into your game! I do this particular move now as a Guard when I'm working in the post and it absolutely works!!!!
Hakeem seems to be in the same shape than in the mid 90s when he dominated everything with his combination of agility and power.

You know youre a legend when you are a center teaching one of the greatest guards of all time footwork.
It's amazing that a 6'6 guard would be the one to master Hakeem's post moves the best out of all the centers and small/power forwards who he taught. Stat uses em
jsong21 You can see Hakeem's teaching shown in Kobe's game fasho. Look up Kobe dream shake Wade. LOL.
jsong21 lebron using them its just he doesnt use them unless the game is critical then he pulls out the hakeeem moves
+jsong21 Kobe utilizes them the best and is easily the best post up SG/SF in the game....Lebron utilizes them sometimes not as much since he's still super athletic, Stat is starting ti use them more since his athleticism is going...Dwight doesn't ever use them like at all..his move is still just try to out power or running baby hook

and also Hakeem enjoys teaching him because Kobe looks so fluent and smooth with it.
2 of the best footworks the nba has ever seen
+King Magno Yepppppp
Kobe looks like a small Hakeem, so smooth
I love Kobe's reaction to the simple most on the baseline, he feels it.
i was watching that as well as comparing how him and dwight differentiate when being engaged and actively listening
Kobe is a good student, no wonder why he is one of or could be the Best player
Rest Forever In Paradise Kobe. 🙏🏿
I could watch this all day long
Kobe is always improving his game. So inspiring
These moves are so natural for Hakeem, there's no split second lag or body hesitation, just one smooth flow ;) Hakeem "The Dream"!
Watching them is like watching two great painters ... their moves are so liquid ... absolutely love it
Watching a GOAT train a GOAT...Outstanding footage
How can there be more than one GOAT?
How good was Olajuwon? Good enough to teach Kobe and Lebron how to play basketball 🏀
Best Center
A big LIKE from me
And dwight, webber, melo, smith, chandler, etc. His footwork, high or low post moves is unmatched by any player of all time. Second best Center Ever
Kobe thought Olajuwon had the best spin move and he did
Pretty sure that both of them already knew how to play basketball
Hakeem: The Master Teacher
Kobe: The Master Pupil
So Beautiful to Watch!
Dwight Howard's head exploded after watching this.
I think Kobe’s willingness to learn from others that may be better at a certain skill than him is what separates him. He doesn’t talk at all during this and just absorbs everything he can from Hakeem
This video warms my heart
“LEGENDARY MOMENTS IN SPORTS HISTORY”.....KObE Implemented all of this in his game..#MAMbALIVES
The most respectful, thankful and FOCUS student Hakeem ever had... 😌😌😇
Kobe has always had mad post game.
My two favorite players.
Thank you for updating the channel more frequently. If you have anymore of these videos, I'd appreciate it if you would upload more of them, I'm sure as well as other fans :)
Seriously, Kobe is the only player I see who took what he learned from Hakeem into the game. Melo, Dwight, Lebron dont even use the moves.......
you forgot *shaq voice* JAVALE MCGEE!
I seen melo so it
+gothatway09 nahhh you never did.
Patrick Charles melo does. Observe.
Lebron uses it to what u talking about
thanks for this move..I will use it in the game
Kobe was the first to do this
R.I.L KOBE ❤ NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
Hakeem is a great teacher he explains well
All the great players of this era and the previous Kobe, LeBron, Dwigth, Camelo, etc all took post game lessons with Hakeem. It says a lot!
compare this to the same video with dwight and the difference is obvious. Kobe WANTS to learn whatever, anything and everything he can. Mamba mentality all the way!

Great footage of the Dream and the Black Mamba
Of all the players that Olajuwon taught his moves to, seems like kobe's the one actually using it on a regular basis.
Notice how much better Kobe looks in these Hakkem Practice Videos compared to Lebron & Dwight
In an interview he told that being the best-shotblocker of all-time helped him develop his own moves which were almost undefendable..
its like the 2k legends training camp in real life
Hakeem would easily school any centers in NBA these days.
Before kobe never played in the post. He went down there and now he's one of the best post players in the league.
It's odd that the Dream is not well appreciated by most NBA fans, but most future legends n superstars consider him as their mentor
they disrespect him for curry and dominant center guys like shaq and timmy d
How smooth and fast Kareem is. Damn
I love how excited kobe is getting lol
Rip kobe already missed you :/
2 of the greatest..
Hakeem Is a genius , his basketball IQ is out of this world , You can tell Kobe is Post moves got hell of allot better after 09 , Unlike Dwight who even after being taught by the dream can't use a single move but realize on his damn dunks.
So Smooth hakeem, so great! U'r game is like a poesia !
Hakeem looks like he could still start for most teams in the NBA
Rest up Kobe great student
Kobe tenia demasiado talento para esto, aprendía muy rápido, comparado con otros que he visto aprendiendo de O´Hankeen.
Kobe is the best player in the NBA so far and he will always be the best
Haha my go to move playing pick up. Once you hit someone with that spin, it makes it so much easier to get to the middle for your hook. The Dream truly is the post-up master, for every move he has a counter. His size, agility, footwork and touch was (by the looks of this video still is) too much to handle.

damn kobe learns quick!
Damn the big guy IS SMOOTH
Hakeem is and was the best post player ever. Kevin McHale second. Their post moves are second to none.
You're kidding (I hope) ... Kobe's got great hands, save for that turnover in game 2 of 2012 semis vs. OKC, I don't recall him dropping many passes or mishandling the rock too often throughout his career; and Hakeem had awesome hands, too ... again, I think soccer laid the foundation for their footwork ... don't believe me, Google "A night of candor with Craig Hodges" ... peace
Because he's the only one with enough talent to use them INGAME
kobe is really the only one that uses these post moves the majority of time
best center player of NBA history
If you watch the players learning under Hakeem or any one else you will see that most players want to replicate it with speed.
Because of that not only do they have sloppy technique. They also change of the technique in order to move faster.

Hakeem is the goat!!
this tells champions are not born but made
I can't believe kobe is actually dead.
That is crazy man
Nice
hakeem doing sg moves in the paint
That soccer background helps.
看了他那麼多學生 , 雖然Kobe本就是技術最全面 最好的一個 , 態度似乎也是最認真學的一個
If the camera could move a little bit to the left this video would be perfect
Hakeem still look like he could go 25 and 15 and Kobe just the G.O.A.T
Soccer sets the foundation for b-ball fundamentals ... playing soccer, you have to be able to dribble and shoot the ball with your left and right foot ... that carries over to basketball
Lol
from Japan
Hachimura should learn this move from Hakeem at once
Some bigs do look good doing it. Depends who it is. Just need good footwork but Kobe is the best thats why nobody can stop him.
Grandioso
No wonder why Kobe has a great footwork...
Rip kobe 😭
I feel like Kobe had these moves before. But going to Hakeem gave him more refined practice and understanding of how and WHEN to use them.

RIP KOBE...
RIP Mamba
Both of these dudes played soccer. You can tell
Kobe is still a good passer and I think is on par with lebron in terms of passing. But other than that I agree with everything you say.
How they get to this training camp
Kobe is the best PURE Basketball player in the game.
The Dream teaching the best how to play with technic best of all time how many NBA player ask Jordan to show them a move
r.i.p.
i love kobe, his game is unbelievebable
but right now, bro rules, he may not have a complete offensive skillset like kobe does, but he dominates with his atletism and raw strenght
this video is from 2009...
This is to depressing...maybe in a couple of years. #24/8/2
He did the same for Lebron, it seems that Hakeem like helping the ones with great potential
Though you sent me an IM, I'm gonna respond in public ... "ball" sports start w/good balance, which is predicated on good footwork (did you take 10 min. to read the Craig Hodges article?) ... think of the great shooters past and present ... most of them weren't great "athletes" but they had one thing in common, balance ... the BEEF acronym (balance, elbow, eye, follow-through) begins with "balance" for a reason ... you may not like Kobe, but he's been blessed with great balance ... peace
is easy for kobe to adapt with hakeem footwork because they both played football growing up
so it's like a pivot and drive?
+mike villa It's the most effective post baseline spin possible.
Check out my workout vids on how to improve your jumpshot with simple training workouts!
If Hakeem really lost some weight he can play in today's game. Especially since centers are weak. I say he can get at least 10 Points - 8 Rebounds - 2 Blocks a game.
