Out of the 15 or so Yamaha's iv owned. Its never been the starter etc. It's always the carb, fuel filter and check valve. Bring a battery and compression tester with you. Check for spark and compression numbers over 120 to about 150 (new) and you'll have a solid runner! 701cc is the best one to find.
It’s funny because they’ve been using the same engine sounds like about the 90s I have a 650 mine has a completely different color and body but yeah the stock carburetors are black nobody rebuilt your engine
@@dorianalexander6960 Where do you live I live in Costa Mesa California mine runs great if you’re anywhere close you can come down and we can ride together I just rode mine recently even though it’s pretty cold I seen a bunch of like fish down there and cool stuff pretty close to the shore mine doesn’t have a very big gas tank but I can ride for about three hours about or maybe more
Haha it happens all the time. I rebuilt the starter switch and put a battery in it and had a lot of fun. A lot of people just get tired or don't know how to fix anything so they just go buy a new ski.

All of them are black. I have two of them I’m trying to get running.
Are these 2 stroke? Just mix 50/50 in the tank? Or does it have a oil injection?
Pre 2002 skis are all two stroke. The mix ratio is more like 50 to one. 50 being the gas.
