Love this reaction. One of my good friends in college tried out for the Blue Man Group in Chicago in 2003. He got to the final auditions but didn't end up getting chosen. Been a fan of their creativity and entertainment for a very long time.
Really enjoyed the insight. You nailed the concept of the sliding pvc tubes, the Blue Man Group calls that instrument the drumbone, and they didn't do it here, but during the shows they even connect the two halves to further change the tone of the instrument.
Their performance was amazing, and your reaction is so cool and interesting. The only negative aspect I pointed at when I first saw the video on the Drumeo channel is that drumset is mixed louder than the elements they use, so when the use all the floor toms I don't hear it very well. A french viewer / drummer.
It'd be interesting to see a drum cover of Underoath's "Writing on the Wall". It's one of those unique songs that doesn't have any verse/chorus structure and every segment is completely different. I'm still trying to learn it myself just putting sections of it together, but I always like seeing how different drummers do their covers of it
Honestly, you should probably just check out more Blue Man Group in general. A lot of the things they brought out here are things that have entire songs focused on them, whereas here it was sort of a quick showcase of a bunch of their different instruments and sets
It’s truly an experience not a concert

That's so cool! I'll need to look that up!
