Hot Mustard sauce at McD’s has been around for decades in the States. They took it off for a couple years and brought it back by popular demand. Also, we have spicy McNuggets as a limited time item like once a year if we’re lucky.
The Big King exists here stateside as well…😂
I'm 35 and don't think I can remember a time where the McDonald's here in Hawaii ever stopped carrying hot mustard, but then again ours are a bit different than the ones on the mainland. We have a bunch of stuff only available here and the apple pies are still fried
I was REALLY REALLY happy when I found out pies were still fried in HI McDonalds!!! I wanted a cherry too but, they said they only carried apple😢
That's my favorite sauce at McDonald's or the buffalo.
We have the big king xl here in New Zealand and it doesn’t have the middle bun like that one you had did! They actually advertise it as having “no unnecessary middle bun” haha 😆
Canada used to have the Big King XL, but recently, now they just have a Big King Jr. - a smaller version. So weird they took the XL off the menu but reference it in their description of Big King Jr. lol.
In the US we used to have the big king but i got discontinued because no one ordered it. I know because i used to work at burger king a few times and I only ever made it like twice.
There’s no reason for a middle bun, just unnecessary simple carbohydrates for no reason other than to bulk out the product!
In italy we have both
In Australia we got the big jack that had the middle bun, Macca's tried unsuccessfully to sue them (The big jack itself was a stab at Miccy d's for also unsuccessfully trying to sue Hungry Jacks!) which then led to a whole ad campaign over why the big jack was different (and better) than the big mac!
Diet Coke has zero calories, so it cancels out all the other calories. Makes absolute sense! So that’s the secret how Sonny lost so much weight! 👏🏻😁

That's the secret. After I ate my fifth burger, and cleansed my palate with gravy and ice cream, I would end it with a diet coke.
Your body uses calories to swallow, too, so technically Diet Coke becomes negative calories!

Bro I work for BK and the one I work at does not have a broiled seasoning 😂 you put the patties into a broiler grill and the lines you see on the chicken and burgers are real. So yes enjoy authentic grilled meat!

Hungry Jacks (Burger King in Australia) came out with the Big Jack about 2 years ago which was exactly the same as a big mac. It worked out well for both them because everyone had to test them both side by side. Big macs were becoming less popular and then boom the big jack had them back in Mac business.
The story behind it is a funny one, maccas tried to sue hungry jacks over stealing their recipe but lost, so hungry jacks came out with the big jack, then maccas tried to sue them over that, and lost, then hungry jacks ran those ads about how the big jack is different and superior to the big mac...
Really love this series (McDonalds / fast food in foreign countries). You should visit Japan again and compare the Mos Burger/ Lotteria to their McDonalds.

It's so good to see that employees worldwide strive to get all the ingredients into the box before they serve it up. It may not be in the same order every time, but it's (usually) all in there.
Normally I feel like fast food isn’t worth any money at all but it’s cool to see it in other countries where they still care and take pride in their work

in Cyprus they even have the epic "double bacon king" ----> Two flame grilled 100% beef patties with double melted American cheese and smoked bacon all on a warm, toasted, sesame seed bun.
and the "crispy chicken bacon king" ----> Seasoned and Breaded crispy chicken fillet with melted American cheese, smoked bacon and creamy mayonnaise on a potato bun.
Do this with domino’s Vs Pizza Hut, KFC Vs Popeyes and five guys I believe all those chains are still in Lebanon

Domino's crushes pizza hut in every way (especially the dough and the crust)
Popeyes now a days is way better than KFC cuz KFC is just not as good as it used to be, its so bad
We have the Big King and Big King XXL here in Germany for as long as I can remember, but we don't have that middle bun here and also there are onions on it and it tastes completely different from the Big Mac, way better.

Burger king uses a gas flame broiler to cook their patties. You get that smokey flavor from the fat that the burger drips down onto the hot surface. I hated cleaning that machine at the end of the shift but I think it brings more flavor than the Mcdonalds flat top press.

I used to work at Hungry Jacks and surprisingly, yes, the 'flame grilled patties' are actually flame grilled in the back room in a machine called a broiler.

Lol ya, we've had the Big King and Spicy Nuggets in Canada for a while now, not sure exactly when they started (I could google it but meh lmao) but its been at least more than a year on the menus😆 Once again GREAT VIDEO!! 100% right with your comments on the price. Something simple like a cheese burger here in NZ used to be $2. Now, it’s more than double that at $4.50. Imagine how much the larger items have changed 😖 McDonalds have completely changed their purpose.

Basically, back in the day McDonald's used a lot of questionable techniques to get their prices down. Even now the cost is low compared to other food options...

True McDonald’s used to be so cheap and affordable and now it’s basically expensive to a point where you can actually go to a real restaurant and get a better deal.
indeed yes, I remember about 20 years ago in Dubai/Abu Dhabi, I used to get a McChicken meal for just AED 16 (about USD 4.5) upsize combo meal back around 2005-ish, nowadays if you order the same combo meal it is double the price now at AED 32 (USD 8.75).
As a Lebanese living in the states, I have tried the Burger King in Lebanon and I can honestly say it tastes better and fresher in Lebanon ❤
because Lebanon is a super high IQ country with the best organic farms in the world!

That mushroom swish cheese one looked orgasmic! They used to do similar swiss cheese burgers around christmass time in Slovakia and Czech Republic.. and they are super delicions as well. Not sure if they still do as I haven't eaten mcd in almost 3 years.

I'm definitely a Burger King gal, but sadly there's only two where I live. Even though it's more expensive than McD's it's definitely a LOT tastier! I'd definitely take BK to a desert island with me.

@7:23 nope.. the mushroom and swiss burger is from the early to mid 2000s and was my favorite burger they removed. they also removed my favorite breakfast item to steak egg and cheese on a bagel.. but luckily they brought that back.
Anything with their signature Sweet N' Sour Sauce makes everything 100% more amazing 😂 love that stuff

The Big King has been out for many many years in America, although we don't have the middle slice of bread, which is great because I always ask for no middle slice of bread if I ever get a Big Mac 🍔
What you do is swap that bread for another quarter pound patty my friend lol actually it is over kill but 2 bucks more and its worth it if your real hungry.

Dunno about the USA but we've had Big King in Burger King for as long as i can remember here in Sweden and im turning 34 this year, we even have the Steak House burger so its actually very similar.

Dairy Queen used to have the best M S burger but took them off the menu. I think Hardee's still has one, but they closed the one around me down. That one Sonny ate from B K looked so good, maybe we'll get that here someday.🤞🏻😊

i swear i've seen the swiss mushroom burger before and there were 2 other new variations apart of the promotion. i rarely even go to mcD's or fast food places in general. Never heard of hot mustard being discontinued and i always get that if i get nuggets. great with fries too.
Over in asia we get monthly special promos from the big 3 US fast food chains. Keeps people interested in a limited time menu offer. The BK nacho cheese menu was awesome!
Agree with your comment about prices. Maccas use to be cheap but they are so expensive now. The soft serve use to be 30 cents for a long time now it’s $1.10 in the space if a year. And feeding a family costs $50 nowadays which isn’t cheap.
We have the Big King XXL here, even bigger than that one. It's way different but I love it so much more!

Most of the menu items have been on the menu for quite a while. The "chicken whopper" use to be called a "BK broiler".
I loved a mushroom and Swiss cheese from Burgerking in the UK back in the day, but I don't think they have done them for years sadly....

In Lebanon, the best Swiss cheese and mushroom beef sandwich I had was from Hardee's (AKA Carl's Jr). They didn't seem to still be around during my last visit to Beirut last year.

BK actually did have a chicken whopper in the US at one point. The Big King exists and has for years and I believe the Steakhouse is still on the menu.
The curly fries are also called twister fries in The Netherlands and we also have the Big King for a while now.

Yeah, we do have Hot Mustard dipping sauce in the US. The spicy nuggets get brought out every couple of years when they decide they need to run a promotion they know will sell well.

Yes,BK here in Florida, USA has the Big King and it's definitely better than McDonald's Big Mac. You get the grilled taste and the BK we go to ( one of my sons works there) they put the same things on it as a Big Mac but much more ,almost to the point of sloppy wet. But who likes a dry burger.
Menu TV's!!! Micro breweries are starting to use them and it makes me anxious too! Listing 15-18 beers of different styles, trying to read them, and it changes 15 seconds later!!! Aaahhhhh!!!!
The MacD's sandwiches are definitely bigger over there than they are in Canada. Everything just looks like it's better quality overall.

Hot mustard sauce has always been a choice. It’s the only one I use. Spicy nuggets are a limited run in my area (north east)
yes there are flames in the Burger King! there's a machine that has a metal conveyor belt that they put the raw patties on and it goes through an enclosed box that has a gas grill inside it. as the patties emerge from the opposite end on the conveyor belt they are fully cooked. Ive seen it many times while standing in line. you will see the flames inside and smoke pouring out the 2 ends. I agree that the big taste difference is the smokey grilled meat at BK. McDonald's also has a fake synthetic taste - especially on their lettuce as it is sprayed with some sort of chemical to stop it from going brown.
Ya we have the big king at BK in the states but I swear it tasted waaaaay better when it first came out, I feel like every time I get it now it’s just a double cheeseburger with melted cheese on top.
I think the crew at my local BK doesn’t know how to make it properly because it isn’t advertised well.

I'm from Colorado, and we've had hot mustard at McDonald's here for a long time. I don't eat there often, but when I do that's the dipping sauce I get.
