From my small car experience, they all pick up power and torque with a set of headers and a 1-3/4 inch exhaust. I'm not sure if you have the 6 or 12 valve single cam engine but you can get headers out of Malaysia or you can make your own. I once did just over 1000 km in a 550 cc L60 Handi (Mira) over a two day period, the first 281 km was from the bottom of Tasmania to the top with an overnight trip on a large ferry ship and then the next day did the remaining 748 km over a 13 hour run. The engine was standard and unable to get over 90 km/h unless going downhill or following a large box truck. I understand your feelings on long travel but I would totally do it again too.
93 octane is not "better" gas. It will run better if you run the octane it is designed to use. GREAT videos. I really like the walking around the port videos. Keep up the great content.
@@Waybeforethefame When going from RON (EU/JP) to AKI (USA/CAN) you approximate it by just subtracting 5 (it's roughly x0.95). Found a couple forum posts from JDM owners years ago, they found regular gas in Japan is around RON90 according to JOMO Japan Energy, which is roughly 85-86AKI here.
Incorrect. The octane rating suggested is the ‘minimum’ octane the engine was built to take. You can use higher for slightly more power and a cleaner burn if you want. My Australian delivered 2003 MX-5 states on the fuel cap “minimum 95 octane”, but I’ve always used 98 octane for its entire 21 year life.
You might be able to find a clapped out Daihatsu truck or van with a good 4 or 5 speed transmission and do a transmission swap. There has to be a fuel injection conversion kit for it. You'd definitely have some video content.
MightyCarMods installed a turbo on their Daihatsu Kei truck a while back. Would certainly be one of your more-involved projects if you attempted it, but it's something to consider. I definitely think the transmission is the biggest thing holding you back though. 3sp is not enough to handle highways, especially with hills.

You definitely need the hydraulic seat like a big rig truck or air seat it will be way more comfortable sitting up like that you feel more bumps that's why the air seats are.in big rigs

Nostalgic for me. My first 4 wheel vehicle was a Jeep Fleetvan. U.S. Mail van. Right hand drive, 4 cyl F-head engine. About the same configuration, without the A/C and you primarily stood up while driving it. (It did have a seat to kind of squat on.) Did not have the windows, but the mirrors did a fine job in letting you know you were clear to change lanes. It ran on gasoline and STP (the pistons had very little rings left.)
😄 You do some great trips, look forward to more trips in the tiny cars from you. I use my little truck now and then on a 320km ( 200 mile) to the nearest city and back and once I became used to it I can switch from a 'normal' car and it feels ok. The speed limit here is 100kph ( 60mph) and for towing and trucks (90kph) so I just mix it with the slower vehicles. I even towed a broken down old Toyota Starlet all the way to the city one time and could do 50mph on the long flat straights.
Mine doesnt have a window. Its fine on regular driving its a problem when you back out of a spot in a parking lot. I learned how to use the round mirror after a month or two.
I think you are too spoiled, Road trips are not about the destination as much as they are about the journey itself. That Kcar has some potential to make it enjoyable, You could fit a cooler/fridge in it as well as a small bench/futon in the back. As for entertainment Put in a good surround sound speaker system with Bluetooth and you could jam to some tunes or listen to the latest podcast. For when you need some down time Maybe throw in a small TV that folds down from the roof in the back...like I said potential...just needs some imagination.
Ok now, could you set up a "camper" set up in it. set up where you can place a bed running down the legtht of it. that you can fold down and fold up, little table for cooking on, Butane stove, little buddy heater, store some food and water under the bed... LOL.

hello to you, and yes you have a 4 speed automatic, it's not made to drive at 100km/h on the highway. it's a city car and extra urban .. I would take some normal roads and sometimes the highway (saving time money), since it's a small engine and all I'm sure it prefers quieter roads .. than driving at +100km/h all the time, its engine must not like it too much, right?? .. I would enjoy on normal roads to see the cities and landscapes .. for me that's what road-tripping is .. I've already driven at 50km/h and that for 4 years, the time to be able to have the license .. but it's sure that if you had a 5-speed manual gearbox it would drive better and consume less and the engine would yell less, you would hear the engine screaming to death less vroooooommmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! to reach 100/110/120km/h ..... for your seat, why not buy a more comfortable seat with an armrest from a junkyard or second-hand (it just has to fit, you can always make modifications to make it fit.. I would like to know if you can sleep lying down in it, as there is no passenger seat could you install a small mattress or latex foam?? in one of my cars a Renault 4L F4 commercial I was able to sleep lying down in it, I travelled quite quietly with it, on one side I stored my equipment and on the other my mattress, I even made a canvas that attached to the roof and came to make like an ome in the back I could open the wing and be sheltered etc, it was cool at that time... have a good trip and have as much fun as possible.. bye see you later

Yeah unless you're driving a car with particularly high compression ratio (like a super/turbocharged engine), higher octane doesn't help.

I would take some normal roads and sometimes the highway (saving time money), since it's a small engine and all I'm sure it prefers quieter roads .. than driving at +100km/h all the time, its engine must not like it too much, right?? .. I would enjoy on normal roads to see the cities and landscapes .. for me that's what road-tripping is .. I've already driven at 50km/h and that for 4 years, the time to be able to have the license ..
but it's sure that if you had a 5-speed manual gearbox it would drive better and consume less and the engine would yell less, you would hear the engine screaming to death less vroooooommmmmmmm!!!!!!!!! to reach 100/110/120km/h ..... for your seat, why not buy a more comfortable seat with an armrest from a junkyard or second-hand (it just has to fit, you can always make modifications to make it fit..
I would like to know if you can sleep lying down in it, as there is no passenger seat could you install a small mattress or latex foam?? in one of my cars a Renault 4L F4 commercial I was able to sleep lying down in it, I travelled quite quietly with it, on one side I stored my equipment and on the other my mattress, I even made a canvas that attached to the roof and came to make like an ome in the back I could open the wing and be sheltered etc, it was cool at that time... have a good trip and have as much fun as possible.. bye see you later
This one is a 3 speed automatic. I do have another one coming soon that will be better for longer drives that ones 4speed auto
