Glad to hear it's held up for you I've read too many reviews that they are not durable long term it's scared me away from investing in one I've had too many inflatable air beds and things fail I'm considering just doing a memory foam topper in the back of my truck so there's nothing to pop.
I love the hinged, lift-up cover/prep board. Even if you didn't want the extra cutting board, the way it gives such good sight and access to the items underneath is brilliant.
I’m late to this, but I do a lot of cabinetry because of DIY work. Eventually the weight on that cabinet at the kitchen will wear that runner. You might put some thing like a kickstand of swords underneath that they can fold out to support it at the end. Something like a folding table leg, that kind of thing. Just to give it a bit more support while you’re using it. To be honest, it looks pretty sturdy and I don’t think it needs it, but if you can fit one under there, it might not be a bad idea. Of course if there’s no left under the cabinet, it’s not an option, but! I’m super impressed with what he made, it’s really clever! And having it be one on one side, and one on the other is a very good idea.
Nice setup. You may want to consider a rear seat delete. I took the headrests and seats out of my tacoma access cab and added a low carpeted platform with some aluminum legs. Amazing how much more room it opened up. Have fun!
Love it. For pads that will still pack small we use Thermarest Mondo Kings in our van. Stupid comfy, self-inflating and still roll away. Better than foam used in many vans for moisture control
My husband and I originally slept in the back of our suv. We got a full size blow up camping mattress, it was "too big" but managed to blow it up to fit. Using a battery operated, hand held, pump. Worked well for us.
Hest foamy overland mattress. I have Bluetti solar battery. Depending on what your budget and power needs are. The Bluetti AC200L is a great option, with some suitcase Renogy 220w solar panels. Also EcoFlow makes great solar battery Delta 2 battery and they have bigger battery. EcoFlow has a charger that hooks up to truck battery and charging EcoFlow battery. Plus it will reverse charge so you can jump your truck battery so you don’t ever get stranded. Good luck 😊
Regarding the mattress: Look into tatami mats. Lots of affordable options and very comfortable if you like firm mattresses. Me and my partner recently started sleeping on one every night at home 👍🏼
So far the most we’ve done is 4 days but we are planning on doing an 18 roadtrip at the end of the summer!! We are planning on finally making a long video on it so if you have specific questions lmk!!
Remember in colder climates never go to bed with a full bladder so don't drink anything at least two to three hours before you go to bed it takes way more body heat just stay warm with a full bladder especially if you're sleeping in a truck box
I just recently reviewed the Exped auto and the Lost Horizon equivalent - I actually recommend the LH over Exped. The foam is more dense and it’s more of a mattress than an air mattress, but still folds up like the Exped. And it’s half the price. They make one that fits the 6’ Tacoma also.
Hey this is soooooo late but I use a Japanese futon (from JLife) mattress in my truck camper set up. It's thin and feels like a luxury in my camper. I initially got it just more my camper but loved sleeping on it so much I got rid of my western style bed and sleep on futons on the ground at home now 🫡
we used 2 inch thick thermarest mattress. We also go the small straps that keep them together. We have to bend them at the top but is not a problem as they were a bit long. We love it as they are super comfortable and no mold issues and light.
Aloha Dani, I am an adventure athlete getting ready to make new shirts for my YT channel. I love how you edit your video shorts. Can you share how you put your shorts together? Do you compile video first then voice over the story? Thank you for your inspiration ❤
Mattress rec - I got the exped megamat duo 5 years ago and it remains the best camping equipment purchase I have ever made!
Great rec thank you 🤍🤍

Exped Megamat or Megamat Max all the way!!!
Comfort deluxe from sea to summit
Love the set up!! If you’re thinking of getting a double sleeping pad, I would get the Exped megamat!!
Thank you!! And I’ve been hearing good things about it, will have to take look ❤

Yep agreed, cup of tea before bed is a must

That lift top idea was genius!!!
Awesome set up! I would recommend the Exped Mat. Comes in a variety of sizes. Most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on 👌
Jake knows what he's doing in this set-up. 🏕

4” high density foam! cheap and super comfy

Hest all the way! More comfortable than my bed at home 👍🏻
honestly id recommend just getting some foam cut to size and still using the pads for insulation

Good job!
Would love to see more about this! I have so many questions lol Like how many days can you guys go with your current setup before needing to resupply?

Camp dreamer is a lifesaving queen size mattress
Awesome.

Exped magamat duo is by far the most comfortable sleeping pad my girlfriend and I have slept on. Literally as comfortable as my bed.
How well has it held up for you and for how long I've read a lot of reviews that they aren't durable long term.

Exactly why i want a Tacoma. I think i’m going to go with a double cab for more space though. How do you guy’s like the access cab?
We really like our big Agness mattress
decathlon makes a double self inflating that is pretty great and like a hundred dollars cheaper than the exped.

what about toilet? don’tu freeze outside?
Very nice
Purple mattress rolls up really well and is super comfy. Only downside is they are really heavy
Ooooh how thick is it??
@@danimarielister it comes in different sizes I think
I saw a guy recently who had a solar panel on top of his.. have you looked into that ?
Exped for sure!!
Just Curious, How Tall Are You?
