Thats one solid Wagon.. I would love to have it. I have owned lots of wagons.. sadly the engine is a later 350 or something. 327's do not have EGR valves.
the 327 had the oil filler in the front of the engine too it was a pipe that stuck off the engine the 350's had them on the valve cover that's another way to know if it's a 283 or 327
You honestly make my day better every time I watch your videos, I've been working 40+ hours during this pandemic. It's helps me relax watching your videos and makes me happy you are still enjoying what you do!
Omg that wagon is awesome ! Actually bro chevy called the wagons with wood trim kingswood estate wagons my mom & dad had a 70 and remember riding in those back seats
thats truly the classic that you need brother, you cant get no more reliability then a small block chev. it migt be rusty but it wolnt leave you stranded, its a great famly road trip car, the mopar you g right now is nice and all but you couldnt drive it on long trips and count on it to get you there
You have never lived untill you have been laid in the back of a station wagon! Just think someone could walk up and see everything right thru those big back windows. exciting it was.
love the wagon, my dad had a 69 with ac and a big block 398 i believe, that used to unseat lifters, one of the first cars i drove , we would drive every year from L. A. to guadalajara mexico every summer till 1973, it was a daily driver, and a transport for my dads entire soccer team, the CLUB CHAPALA, good times, thanks for the video.
Randy snag that 66 Chevy. You got a gem in that dodge you got. Never pass up old cars. These wagons are not easy to find. Snag it man! The haters don't matter man
Love it. My wife's family had one just like it. The window has to go down, and then you can unlatch the gate from inside. What happened to the instrument cluster? They also added an option for FM Stereo that year. I don't believe that the gate could be opened from the side until later. My friend's family had a 1967, and it couldn't do that either. The engine appears to be from a later model. The alternator was mounted on the left side until 1968, then it switched to the right.
That 66 wagon is definitely cool. I’m about 48 and growing up in the 80s-90s, my Dad messed with and flipped a lot of cars like that and at that time they were plentiful and boring. Now they’re scarce and cool. And for what it’s worth, if it was cheap enough, I’d like to make that F150 whole again.
Dude I have never asked you for anything but please buy the old caprice station wagon. We had one of these when I was a kid and it reminds me of my Dad. My Dad passed away 2 years ago and I would love to see you work on this. Would be a good feeling to see this and you work on it. Bring back memories ❤️
Looks like they placed the 327 with a 307, or a 359. The plastic fan shroud is missing, but it has air cond, factory bumper guards, power windows and probably some more options. Love it!
@@charlesstull4582 My family had 3 Country Squires with wood on the side in a row. A 6? blue with small fins or gutters along the side, a burnt orange '74, and a maroon 79 that was the basis of the National Lampoon Vacation Family Truckster.
i love you channel...i prefer to watch you copart walkaround rather than watching a movie on Netflix ....i live to go car junk and walk around and find parts that i need :)
Another awesome video👍Such nice cars and trucks just sitting waiting for someone to save them. I would get the Lincoln and the Jeep for sure no problem. The old station wagon could be a cool project. All in all a great video. Have a great day Randy.👋🏼👋🏼
I really like that 1966 Caprice Station Wagon , that motor is a 1971 or newer 350 maybe a 305 , 2 barrel carburetor , that would be a good home for my 1966 396 big block , if you look that probably has a 12 bolt rear axle and maybe a turbo 400 transmission ..... Great video 👍 keep them coming. Dale Nickel
I'm pretty sure the Estate Wagon has a later model small block. In '66 these cars had points and a beer can coil. The oil filler was on the front of the engine and tall with a breather on top. I'd bet this one is a 70's 305 or 350. The little plastic oil filler cap in the valve cover screams 305 to me. You might get a clue puling a plug wire. If it's got 13/16ths spark plugs it's likely a 327. Later small blocks have the 5/8ths plugs. Somebody is gonna say I'm wrong about that. lol
The engine in the 66 I think is a 74 or newer small block, the a/c compressor was originally on the passenger side and the alternator on the driver side. You can also tell by the cto switch located in the thermostat housing and the long shaft water pump. It's a rare to have power windows, but still a cool car.
I grew uo with a 73 gm station wagon. To open the back of the caprice you need to insert the car key and turn it in the lock. The rust would scare me away foam buying it. It was cool to see. the fact that it still exists is a miracle.
My grandfather had one for yrs we drove it every summer I love it what a traveling car love to hit the road again in one easy to fix and cheap parts God lots of space and seat s in the back you have lower the window down
Tandy, you need the key to get the handle to pop out then you turn the handle and spin it to roll window down the reach in the handle is on the back side and it opens two ways
Country Squire & *Kingswood Estate* Most likely that engine is a transplant EGR & HEI didn't come until '69 & '73? respectively. I owned a '70 Kingswood Estate, Power Everything. A Great Golfing car for a foursome. LOL
Love the Chevy wagon. I learned to drive on a 66 Impala convertible. I still have the Impala horn center hung up on my workbench. Great to see cars like that.
My parents bought a 66 Caprice wagon new and had that car well into the 80's. It was exactly like that one but red. The ignition key had a square head though, the round head key opened the doors and trunk. The rear window was powered too. Okay, not exactly the same, we didn't have the third row of seats.
The Lincoln MKZ is a really nice car. If l lived in or near Oklahoma with the weather you all get i would make it my daily driver as there is a good chance it will get damaged again LOL. Keep a nice car garaged and try and drive it on those perfect weather forecast days. Appreciating though in Oklahoma there is never a guarantee.
The Caprice wagon is cool. I really dig 1960s station wagons. This one is a Caprice Custom Estate wagon with the faux wood trim, a step up from the Bellaire and Biscayne wagons.
That Wagon is awesome those wagons are getting collectable lot of people are into them and a 66 chevy it has the same tail lights and front end as the Impala and the 327 small block are great engines
1966 Chevy Caprice Kingswood Estate. Top of the line Chevy! You have to put the window down then the gate folds. Fords had a gate that swung and folded. The GM wagons in the '70s had the gate and window that disappeared, window up and gate down.
That F-150 looked like an electrical nightmare just waiting to happen. I agree with you 100% Randy. I don't even like aftermarket stereo systems. I like to keep it all factory.
@@kyleobrien5709 correct and there's nothing wrong with it. It's got good bones and as a used car it doesn't sell for a lot more than a used Fusion. My ex roommate got a 08 MKZ from auction about 6 years ago, he paid 3100 + fees, that car proved very reliable and had lots of features and power for the price. He just sold it last year
That engine's newer than the car. EGR is '70s. Air cleaner is '70s. It's got a one-wire integral-regulator alternator, which is later than '66. Also missing something else: There was also a huge recall on motor mounts on these, GM's fix was a cable "safety" to keep the engine from coming up too far if a mount broke. They'd break, engine would lift and bind the throttle linkage open. That recall "fix" seems to be gone.
On the Red F150 at the end... that switch was possibly for the light bar in the bumper. that loud beeping i believe may be one of those vehicle disable devises they do at buy here pay here lots

The family truckster brings back memories thanks Randy
The air cleaner on the ‘66 Chevy has the GM ThermAC system which was introduced in ‘73 .....suggests an engine swap at some point., also no EGR in ‘66
