I am a legal immigrant and now a full-pledged US citizen, so my perspective is coming from that. What I have observed from US-born Americans is that, they can be kind, nice and smiling. They are also the most generous people on earth. Many would donate to just about anyone who needs help even if they are not rich themselves. But if their way of life, livelihood and existence are threatened, their enemies will know hell. It will not matter their creed, race, political affiliation or religion. They are not pushovers.

While our military may have been a bit over extending in foreign affairs at times for the most part we haven't been trying to destroy or take over the earth by military force. Preety impressive a global super power actually wants to make the world better instead of just forcing people using war. I think Russians and Chinese people actually see this and decided long ago to get on the earth team. Hopefully we can all continue to get along but my thinking is that future strain on global resources will lead to confrontation weather we like it or not and the entire world might fight over a few small resource rich areas which is a shame if it comes to that. The solar system is abundant with resources and energy if we only worked together we can reach those potential milestones which could set us on an intergalactic pathway. There is a math question here, are the chances we develop fast enough to achieve that goal in the realm of possibility before we begin being resource starved and fight ourselves to mutual death?

True. Even if the scenario is horrible, and a ground forces or bombing campaign could penetrate say, gulf coast Texas, i could maybe imagine car dealerships releasing vehicles to authorities to use for injured or elderly civilians trying to evacuate. I really do think in such a horrible scenario like that, common people would band together by barrios, neighborhoods, blocks, even apartment complexes to fight enemy forces. As long as we could have proper modern trained, skilled, military leadership to command the field. Say a regular Army Lt. with a Sergeant First Class, to direct formations and fire control. Air Force would direct civilian aircraft for mission priority etc.
Hell, as long as civilians have responsible military leadership, we can help, and fight. Assist in injured evacuations, supply delivery and guard post duty. Of course military and civil defence has already thought of these situations and has plans...I hope.

I read something in Chinese before that goes something like this: An empire does not collapse due to outside forces, it collapses from the inside. Even if it seemed like it's caused by outside forces, that is because someone from the inside opened the door.
I believe this comes from the Chinese's experience with the collapse of many seemingly indestructible empires.
Empires come and go, it is a natural cycles.
If someone were to destroy American Empire, they will guide American into self-destruction. Seems like it is on track, with the ever polarizing American society.

Most importantly for me: I like how your video puts the citations in the video next to the spoken statements. I finally saw these are linked in a Google Doc. I'd appreciate if these can go in the description itself too if possible but this is already great.
When using maps, wish you'd use something else that doesn't have the Mercader Projection distortions on area that makes Alaska look the size of half of the continental US. This was especially visible when you were comparing India and China starting at 8:42, saying China is slightly smaller than India while using a projection that makes China look much larger than India is jarring.
Finally, glad you mentioned internal divisions at the end, as I agree that's our weakest link. Anyone seeking to divide Americans does not have our best interests at heart.

having a high amount of armed civilians would only mean that in a eventual attack, the invaders would have less regard for civilian lives since they basically operate like an extension of the military, thus resolving to carry out airstrikes and bombings much more than they would if most of the civilians were unarmed. I'm out there and a player says, "attack the ball, run up and stand there and put your glove up to catch it just before it hits you in the forehead." Very cool. Another player came up and, like a ghost from baseball past said, "in the heyday of baseball, they would have a keg of beer at third. If you made it there, they would pour you one." - High school kid told me this! Still gives me chills to think about it and how much tradition is passed down on the field.

    • @DieuDeMort
      @DieuDeMort 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@dgillphotos Lmao, if you want to hear about tradition coming from HS sports, I'll oblige. I marched in the band in HS. I remember, freshman year, there was a guy playing bass drum, and he had to dodge me one day since I didn't know what I was doing. He pulled me aside after that run, "Look. Next time, I'm not dodging you. I'm just going to run you over, I don't fucking care." And that became my own attitude later on, telling that same line to the color guard and the like, but what he said straightened me out real quick.
I moved onto college marching, and I was told, "if anyone gets it your way, you run them over. It doesn't matter who they are, at that point they're just an obstacle." And my college was actually known for running over reps and preventing the team from playing if they came out early.
Then I went into the military. And at that point, the previous statement wasn't just a suggestion, it was law. If someone is in your way, you correct that manually. No formation breaking, no hesitation. If you have to physically walk over them, then that's what you do. Kinda weird getting to progress through that, and at the same time travelling back to the source.

Anything at this point can precipitate its total collapse. Empires aren't forever, especially something most damnable and intolerable, it ain't to big a folly to fail, nor too great a sovereign/God to be held accountable. Justice will catch up eventually, long overdue, with a vengeance. What's the rule again, what do Americans say about themselves? From my (German) perspective one threat was completely missed which is the destruction of the US by their own population. The US is a deeply polarized nation due to having only two relevant parties. Mistrust in the oposing political party and mistrust in the election process may one day lead to armed riots. If a state is heavily biased towards one party and doesn't accept a new president, I wonder if a fragmentation might then occure, where states who oppose the election results band together and the US breaks into two states.
It might also be that one of the parties becomes extremely unpopular because of big scandals or whatever. If this ever happens, then the popular party might get enough popularity and might to oppress the opposition. Building a one party state where elections are mostly just there to keep up the facade of being a democracy doesn't seem so far fetched if you realise how incredibly easy it is to control public opinion by simply owning the main stream media.

If you wanna bring other things into factor, if a man has 1 sidearm vs a man with 2 and they both have cover, trading shots, who do you think comes out on top. One has to reload, one doesnt. One can advance on you, while you have to maintain and reload ur single weapon, depending on training and how fast you can reload yeah this can be done, but vs an equal opponent he will most likely push you when ur clip is out, and he will keep you from pushing him and even peeking out by using the other weapon to just keep firing at ur position. He can literally just use the other firearm as a distraction, if he wanted to. Unless ur talking like some take 10 paces and turn around, 2 guns will always have the chance of landing a hit on you due to more bullets in the air coming at you, im talking sidearms here, nobodys running around with 2 ar's. What ur saying is true, but in reality if you were to play that scenario out 100 times with trained soldiers, and untrained. The person with 2 sidearms would win well over 50% of the time, id probably say 75% of the time, well that number would probably actually only increase with trained soldiers because they would know how to fire and hold a sidearm lefty and shoot it lefty, but this isnt hard really unless ur very weak or using a very high calibur handgun, the noise would be a bigger problem. 2x 9mms vs 1x 9mm. And thats not counting like ive seen ambidextrous people shoot before, its quite impressive i wouldnt want to ever get into a situation were id have to trade shots with someone like that, i mean its rare but, that person is literally putting twice the amount of led on target.

3:46 - The pipeline was never in any true danger, the operator of that pipeline shut it down, while they investigated their auxiliary systems, but the SCADA was not breached. Pipelines are the safest and most efficient means to transport product, while being well regulated via State and Federal offices and agencies.

You forgot the most important part. The reason it was shut down so long was a fear that the software controlling payment had been tampered with. The systems controlling the pipeline were never in any danger, but the company was in danger of not being able to tell how much people owed them.

I think in all past wars with major powers, none have ever had the ability to launch ICBMs. We wouldn't get shelled into oblivion with short-range artillery, but infrastructure could easily be targeted from anywhere with a big enough missile behind it. We've never once had to shoot down missles over the homeland. The balloon doesn't count, and honestly, it is what makes defense doubful in that regard.
