  • First time ever building a Tamiya kit. Wow what an experience! I worked on trying to develop some skills I have learned from other modelers here on TH-cam. This was a great learning experience! I will definitely be building more tanks and more Tamiya kits! Fantastic build for beginner modelers!
Here are the links to some of the products I got for this build! This stuff is exactly what a beginner needs! Pros probably use these too!
Vallejo Model Air Color Set - WWII Ameican Armour & Infantry amzn.to/3wxWwf6
Vallejo Rust & Chipping Effects Colors amzn.to/3wxWwf6
    Tamiya Extra Thin Cement amzn.to/3uvMqsF
Excel Hobby Knife with Green Rubber Grip amzn.to/3ixdli0
    Tamiya Model Stand amzn.to/3tDPLXc

One reason I like Tamiya kits ,I live in Japan from 1992-1999. Lots of awesome model kits in Japan.

Nice work, yeah those tracks could be a pain. Tamiya, I think is one of the best model companies. Try 1/35th scale Tamiya tanks, rubber bands tracks, a lot easier in my opinion. I don't know if you did this, but wash your kits in warm soapy water before you start, it will remove release agent's from the manufacturer's process. Again nice work and above all enjoy yourself and have fun. Have a great weekend and stay safe and healthy.

I just bought a 1/35 Tamiya M1 Abrams for the stash. Not sure when I will get to it but I am looking forward to it! Thanks for the kind words! Stay safe and healthy as well!

Thanks! I'm going to call this a win. For my first time building a tank and using pigments and oil paints, I don't think I could have done better with the little experience I have now. Next one should be even better. Thanks for watching!

@@JustFishing111 Thanks! The people on TH-cam are such great teachers, there is no way I would be anywhere close to this level without hours and hours of watching other people first. I think watching others build and show techniques is almost as fun as building it myself. Almost. :)

I think the inside of the shermans were white. I paint inside as beat as i can my tanks their interior colours.

I've never built a tank, only watched videos -- this looks great! The weathering looks really good, and it's obvious you studied other builders to make it pop. I admire your attitude of approaching this as a hobby -- this looks cool so I'll try it even though it may not be accurate. I quit a local hobby club because they were history buffs that expressed that love through modeling, and I just wanted to build things because they looked neat.
Did I briefly see another airbrush besides the Iwata? I have a Harder & Steenbeck airbrush I got just so that I could use a smaller needle, which is great for really close detail work. I'm not proficient at the airbrush either, but Genessis Models' YT channel taught me about light misty coats first, then going in with heavier coats.
    Thanks again for sharing!

Ha you caught that! Yes I got a used H&S Infinity on ebay just to test it out since I have heard a lot of good things about it and I have seen a lot of videos of modelers using it. I tried it out and I couldn't get it to work well but I think its because it needs some maintenance and lube and I am not really familiar with how to do that yet. It might just be broken too. I'll mess with it some more because it is really comfortable to use. It is heavier than the Iwata and I actually prefer that. Maybe I'll buy a new one if I cant get it to work. Thanks for watching!!

Nice video, turned out great. The electropop is a little much though, no offense. I just found it a little distracting. But some may like it...I dont know.

Hi, amazing work. What kind of cement/glue did you use to put the tracks on at 25:30? How did you make sure not to wash off the paint when applying cement/glue. I always ended up washing off some of the body paint when fitting small accessories on the body 😂

Hi there! Great question! It is a superglue that is designed for acrylic nails. I can't find the exact brand I used but its basically this stuff: amzn.to/43xx2Lw hope that helps! And thanks for watching!
