Nice job. No question that Tamiya is one of the finest, if not THE finest, model company out there. Too bad they're letting their brand down w/inferior decals. I love those fairly new Eduard decals with the removable carrier film. Anyway, once again, you did an excellent job & the video production was on point as well.
thank you mate!! I agree, tamiya are by far the finest model company out there… once those decals are sorted they will be unstoppable!! I think it’ll take me a little while to get used to those eduard decals as they are a bit fiddly for my liking! thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it!!

Excellent work, this is beyond all work I ever seen in China! Although this paingting is not allowed to show in my country because of Japanese mark, I still love it.

Excellent build of my favorite model kit. I have built six of these kits so far . The forward fuselage belly panel is the only ill fitting part on the entire kit , so it wasnt something you did wrong. As reguards to the new eduard decals i quit trying to peel the carrier film off because it kept chipping the decals. Now, i just spray a flat clear top coat and the carrier film just disapears.

Nice build looks great👏 ....you are absolutely correct about the decals ....built this kit a while ago and everything was fantastic except the decals.The Sundowners livery looks nice on the phantom and Tomcats Happy scaling 👋.

This is becoming a very tempting kit. I'm currently working on the tamiya F-14A, which is a blast to build.
I'm debating getting this one or waiting for a possible F-4EJ from them in this scale.

Great work! I know how you feel about Tamiya decals. I ended up buying after market decals from Furball Aero-Design for my Tamiya F-4. Printed by Cartograph so you know they will be good. If only Tamiya would start producing better decals they would make the best kits on the market unbeatable.

@@machmodels yes Tamiya has very thick decals, you can stumble on them if they lay on the floor. 😀 😂
I know everyone has preferences for paint brands, but i havent found vallejo as durable as the alcohol or lacquer based acrylics (mr hobby/Tamiya)
To be honest with you, in my recent builds (Hellcat and the Sea King) Ive been using lacquers and I am really starting to enjoy them! So potentially I’ll be converting over

I bought this kit late last year and I have pretty much ruined it with the paint. I used ak and mr colour and Vallejo paints with a paintbrush because I didn’t have an airbrush. Has anyone got any tips to get the paint off so that I can carry on. I pain £90 and that plane has really put me off my modelling but I would like to finish this kit
Well if i was in your situation I would personally get a cloth soaked in thinner (probably the mr colour levelling if you have it as it’s pretty strong) and simple try to wipe it off. I think that should work?!

Use another primer, preferably lacquer based,and your paint won’t lift when removing mask.

Is the Tamiya Decal really that bad? OMG😢
you may have better luck however the general response to them is that they where pretty darn hard to get down!
