🪑 its oddly comforting to watch booktubers not based in the states because i can relate with the book inaccessibility AND the insane book pricing for english books 🥹 (as a reader from The Philippines) 🤍🤍 loved this vlog!
same in sweden
Bella’s influence on getting so many people (myself included) to read the count of monte Cristo is truly iconic! I hope you enjoy it Mel !
The way I immediately knew you were talking about me when you said one of your patrons really loves Fairy Tail before you even said my name.
Taste 😌 I love fairy tail too! Can't wait for the 100 year quest anime.
“I’ll get it for $5” me too, me too( I totally would do that 😂)
Fairy Tail is one of my all time favorite manga/anime series 🥰
As a reader from Uruguay, I SO relate to the inaccesibility of books and the kind of outlandish pricing :"D
The Plated Prisoner series is one of my all time favs! The first book Gild is really hard to read and really dark but you gotta get through it to get our main characters backstory, but books 2, 3 and 4 are fantastic!
12:36 yes yes yes!! this was my first longest classic that i read last year and enjoyed it so much, thanks to bella as well!!! 😁🪑🪑hope you enjoy it as much as we all did!!
I just typed book haul into the search bar and this was the first video that popped up and I'm so glad it did!!
12:21 omg I knew it
The moment you said Bella I knew it was gonna be the count
😂😂😂😂
I hope you enjoy it because I actually did like it
Persuasion is my favorite Austen novel followed by Pride and Prejudice.
Oh I LOVE fairy tail ❤ highly recommend
🪑 Love a good day of book shopping!!! I randomly toss that option into any and all plans for the day 😊
perfect timing! I need 30
minutes to kill before i go to the bookstore!
Please read the plated prisoner series. It is soo good. The first book Gild is a little hard to get through but her writing gets so much better with each book.
Becky Chambers is amazing, I hope you will enjoy it :) I loved the Monk & Robot series, its one of my alltime favorites
Same problem here in Switzerland! The books are about 20-25 for a paperback and for a hardback at least 30. Also the variety of english books is lacking 😅
Every time I see that you have a new Vlog, I have to watch it immediately!
Just found you're channel i'll be back. Loved going with you to the store and just enjoyed you're vibe. Plus the book haul was fun.
Always love a book shopping video! 💕🪑
I will be interested in your Gild journey. I enjoyed books 1-3 but after that it took a big step down in quality and story telling. I didn’t even bother picking up book 5 that came out.
I love Emma and have that exact edition you got. I think you will absolutely love Emma. It is one of my favorite.
just read the second book of the stolen heir series and the first book of the plated prisoner series this month! i honestly liked stolen heir and prisoners throne. the character dynamics were interesting and the plot advanced quickly in my opinion. gild was good but a hard read. not much happens until much later but i understand it’s more of the back story so not much romance yet. definitely intend on continuing the series tho!
Ahhh love seeing fellow panameñas on booktube🇵🇦🇵🇦much needed representation!!
Great vlog and haul 📚🥤
Omg your videos has been on my recommendation for so long and I didn’t know you were from Panama🫶🫶
I think you will love a psalm for the wild built ❤ I really fell in love with Becky Chambers when I read it
Thank you for sharing your experience, I live in Sweden and read books in both english and swedish and can relate to the prices being higher for english literature, especially current ones. 🪑
Loathe to love you is so so good! 🪑🪑🪑
I really like that the books are cling wrapped, there have been so many times my bookstore only has 1 copy and it's so messed up 😢
love your vids so much! just subbed to the patreon! 🪑🪑🪑
Seems like it's chenging for the best! Happy for you, hope it get better and better.
The Stolen Heir was decent! For me, it was a little slow at parts but picks up towards the middle and carries over into The Prisoner’s Throne (very similar to my experience reading Cruel Prince, a little slow but then it got more interesting in Wicked King)
I think we all got The Count of Monte Cristo because of Bella 😂
i love the count of monte cristo.
🪑
I wanna go on a full rainy day to bookshop too! But alas no stores around here. And also I'm broke 😮💨
Classics hardcovers are always so so pretty!
I loved a silent voice movie soo much.
The stolen heir was such a disappointing. This coming from somebody who LOVES Jurdan
Just curious, is there a reason all of the books are plastic wrapped at the store? Is it to keep out humidity?
🫶🏽 Emma! 🪑
Emma is really good! Have you read Persuasion? That ones my favorite Austen novel ❤️
I’m sending you love❤❤❤
AAAA moriarty the patriot💗
ps: It's Marie Skłodowska-Curie not just Curie, she was quite proud of her name as a polish person💖💖
The barbarian alien is so good.. yet so bad 😂
Mel and Bella crumbs I am livingggg ✨✨✨✨✨
🪑🪑🪑
Here in Egypt, the book accessibility is really bad and really expensive 😢
Book rec I think you will enjoy if you can get hold of it.
The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer. This book had me stolen after the first chapter that was a page and a half long. The book cover is stunning. This book in brief is about a Death Doula called Clover, she lives in NY and comes across a feisty old woman called Claudia who has one last wish…
I would love to hear your thoughts on this, you really need it on your tbr xx
Ayyyee the count of monte christo! that book took me a while to read, but I have faith in you!
and omg penguin clothbounds are so pretty!! I also bought Emma, but I chose the penguin English library edition (I love floppy books and the clothbounds can be so heavy ahahah) 💺 🪑
Emma remains the only Jane Austen book I haven't read. I definitely plan to one day, but I have a thing with secondhand embarrassment, and I know that one is going to be full of it.
I noticed many of the books in the stores looked like they were wrapped in plastic..I would be so annoyed to not be able to flip through the books when I’m shopping! Typically only naughty books are wrapped in the stores lol 😂
Love on the brain is my favorite Ali hazelwood ❤ 🪑🎉
I have the fact that books are so expensive. Because i cant buys much books because i have other things to pay for but i really wanna read those books. And i know incan go to a library but in the Netherlands librarys are quite boring. And dont usually have good books in my experience. Soo does anyone has some tips please😢
❤❤❤❤❤
🪑when am I NOT book shopping would be the easier question lol
🪑
Becky Chambers groupie here! I just wanted to say I hope you enjoy the Monk & Robot series and if your vibing after the read please give the Wayfarer Series a try. Chambers writes wonderful multi POV character driven stories and in my opinion the embodienment of Sci-Fi Hopepunk. Thats all! 🪑💕
🪑 🪑🪑🪑🪑🪑
Is there a particular reason why you prefer buying books in English instead of Spanish?
Can't speak for Mel, but as someone who speaks several languages, I usually prefer reading books in their original language if I can.
Do you know why book stores shrink wrap all of their books? That is not really ecological. But love your videos!
I tried to watch Emma last night and it, unfortunately, was boring af 🥴 The book is so pretty but I don’t think I will ever pick it up now 🥲🪑
