You REALLY need to check out the Status Quo Reunion Live shows AMAZING
Mr rock n roll, please check out status quo frantic four live from Wembley in 2013
The one and only Quooooooo
The one with the long blond hair is Rick Parfitt. Sadly no longer with us, but he was rhythm guitar, perhaps one of the greatest ever.
Francis Rossi is lead guitar, and a very underrated one at that. The original bass guitar was Alan Lancaster, again sadly no longer with us.
The original drummer was John Coghlan.
Together they were the original Quo, nicknamed the Frantic Four, and in the 1970s, were without doubt the greatest live band playing.
Fantastic live concerts, of which I saw many. Just brilliant nights.
The best straight forward rock-band ever! True to their style and origins for decades. And still going strong. Love them!
Totally agree
Look up ‘Status Quo Medley’ and react to that because its a 20 minute mash up of rock you would love!
This is Def the rhythm guitarist singing dude, the legendary late Rick Parfitt, RIP RICK 😢
All Quo albums are good, especially up to 1981.
Lusten to the 'Quo' album 1974. You'll love it.
57 Yr old from Glasgow here. Thanks for letting me revisit the music of my youth. Saw them in Glasgow as a 12 Yr old and never get tired of them live. Amazing. ❤
This band at effing awesome !!!!!! Been a fan over 50 years
I could never understand why they never made it in the states, yet loved everywhere else.
You were correct the first time, the singer (in this song) Rick Parfitt, played rhythm guitar, Francis Rossi plays lead.
A demonstration of what made Status Quo, the iconic band they were. Keep it simple and keep it rock and roll. The twelve bars that never let them down!
Thank you for respecting them and disappearing after two minutes to compose yourself. 😀
Loudest band in the world during 70s with their Marshall stacks
Band are as follows
Francis Rossi - Lead Guitar (no Hair)
Rick Parfitt - Rhythm Guitar (Long Blonde Hair)
John 'Rhino' Edwards - Bass Guitar
Andy Bown - Keyboards
Leon Cave - Drums
You would love 4500times... this was a fantastic gig. I was there.. totally rocked... long live the quo..
Yes, 4500 is almost like their flag ship! (more in older days than now,)
One of the BEST LIVE Bands in Music History !!!! Always a MEGA PARTY !!!!
Try "Night of the proms, what ever you want" Fantastic !!!
A real appreciation for the Quo! Saw them live many times...in my 60's now but still get off to them...sadly not the same since Rick Parfitt passed 😢
Same age here mate. However I think that after Alan left they lost something.
My favourite Quo song. Rick had such a great voice.
Talking of great voices, please check out another fantastic British band called THUNDER, too. You could start with Backstreet Symphony - Live at Donington 1990 or, to hear Danny in full flow, Don't Wait For Me from the same show is stunning.
Thunder! Love them
Seem to be an institution in Britain, rare everywhere else? Saw them in a club in Berlin
They are like a 70s band that was delayed a bit 😅
Just one word."Epic"
The best part of seeing your reaction is that youre reacting to a couple of guys who at this point are in their 70s. The song is from 1972 also. Youve got a lot of catching up to do!
Not sure if you dates/ages. RP was 68 when he died.
The full live version of 4500 Times is the one. The End Of The Road '84 version is good. Or Birmingham NEC in '82. (With Prince Charles watching!) RICK PARFITT ROCKS
Quo are incredible and over 50 years old. They were huge everywhere across thr world in the 70s but never America which is very unfortunate. Watch them in the 70s!
You need to do ‘4500 times’ live but make sure you have paramedics on standby!
You Should listen to Live at the NEC
This band is just unbelievable talent
Why this band and so many other's didn't make it into America is beyond me
Hi
My one and only band for the last 45 years seen them live over 100 times.
Please let's do the full the set you'll be blown away love it.
They are the12 bar boogie kings
My Dad has just discovered your videos, He’s been going to see the Quo for over 50 years, and your enthusiasm, love and appreciation has absolutely made his day 😂 Cheers from London! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Cheers from USA🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻tell your dad I said HEY!!!
Loving your reactions to the Quo, what an awesome band they were.
Rick Parfitt is singing lead vocals on this one. He was a rhythm guitar God. Brilliant Song. The whole album "Piledriver" is great. "The Mystery Song" is a close favourite with this.
I am a massive Status Quo fan! Thank you for playing their music. You Rock!!!
Nice to see an American bro discovering the Quo - absolute legends. Funnily enough they never really broke the States.
First saw them in a small club in London when I was a kid. My ears were ringing for days and it has stayed with me all my life 🤘PS. You need to check out a newer no nonsense band called Massive Wagons, who are big in the UK and who did a tribute to Rick Parfitt of Quo, called “Back To The Stacks” 🙏
I’m the guy they zoom in on at 6:06 What a day. Download Festival 2014. The last time I was there. Only problem was their set was shorter than usual because England were playing in the World Cup and they were showing the game on that stage’s screen.
RIP Rick.
The Quo is an incredible band, no doubt! It was actually the rhythm guitarist, Rick Parfitt, who was singing on this one.
Since Rick died, the lead guitarist, Francis Rossi, has done most of the singing.
Quo are the band back in 1974, that first got me into harder guitar bands, and so led me to Sabbath, Motorhead, Priest etc etc 🤘🤘🤘
Try "Little Blue Eyed Lady" from Live in Dublin 2014 which is somewhere on TH-cam posted by Damian Butcher. This was the legendary Frantic Four version of Quo in their final ever concert together - and talk about leaving us on a high! I'm struggling to think of a better live rock 'n' roll performance if you enjoy music hitting you like a blitzkrieg, as you seem to do. Four minutes of perfection with one of the most jaw-dropping guitar solos ever crafted in the second half of the song. Once seen, never forgotten!
Blue Eyed Lady, no Little!
I was at that gig at the 3 arena in Dublin. The whole concert was out of this world. I bought the live recording on the way out and it's still one of my favorite CDs. I still remember getting the lift down to the concorse and idiots were complaining that Quo never played anything other than the from the first six or so albums 🤣Well what did you expect from the original line up, playing stuff that JC and AL never had any imput into?
Dude. Rick - blonde hair - rhythm guitar. Francis - green guitar - lead guitar.
Actually both are rythm, but Rossi does the most solos... Parfitt only a couple
Never heard of status quo??? Jeez!
You must have lived a very sheltered life so
The Great Status Quo have done it again to me
Been a fan since 1974, seen them 5 times in Australia, amazing live so loud
Dear Mr rock n roll... I absolutely love your big hearted awesome reactions to the super beloved status quo songs. Fills my heart with joy watching you. Big love brother 🎉❤
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻better late than never I always say!
@@MrRockNRollLive bro I'm gonna subscribe because I wanna see if you find quo live 1976 apollo Glasgow double album track by track and survive it 😉😉😎🤠
Starts off with junior's wailing and 90 minutes later ends with bye bye jonny...what happens in between is monu fucking mental 🙆♂️🔥
I saw them in 76 as a 12 year old boy... Imagine that... !!!!!@@treebeard4873
Status Quo is going on tour in Europe this year, mostly in Germany, I hope also in my country, the Netherlands, the tourlist isn't complete yet.
Quo live performances, particularly when they were the Frantic four' did just keep on going, relentless boogie! no time to rest, bang straight into next song! As someone else also posted, if you want live video versions then watch 'The End of the Road' video, 30 years! before this and with the late great Alan Lancaster on bass!
STATUS "ROCK" QUO, YES MAN, NUMBER ONE!!!!!!!!!!!🤘🤘🤘
This was about the time I got into them. Great band in the 70s when I was lucky enough to see the “Frantic Four” live a couple of times
7:20 AM in the UK and I am now wide awake. Thank you!
Absolument magnifique sublime...l apothéose....je suis comme un fou sur cette chanson....
Totally agree! Attendig a concert with Quo...You`re high 2 weeks after without taking any kind of drugs. I became a fan when I was 12 years old in 1972 listening to Pilediver. I`ll never forget the first time I heard Dont Waste My Time: I was lost. Those were the days.......
RiP Rick. He was the real rocker of them, and most of his songs are the ones that slap the hardest.
And his hammering out the rhythm on his beat up tele is uncompared to me (maybe even before Malcom)
Looove this song, I remember seeing it live and me and my sis going nuts waving our foam guitars right up at the front and at the "say you need me" bit, Rhino (on bass) was interacting with me and my sis by miming 'I need you!' And winking at us hahaha always had so much fun at quo gigs! Also got to see Francis Rossis sons band Little Egypt support them!
Welkome to the family!!! Gladley You as my favorite you find my old time favorite band over 50 years , i am exited.
You are a fantastic promotor for this band, the deserve it
Something to remember about this band.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt both started in Status Quo in the middle sixties!!!
And at the time of this performance were both pushing 70!!!
BTW you should check out 4500 time's and the first hit single, Pictures of Matchstick Men.
Prepare for a face melt!!
awesome through the decades
Talking about good music and guitarists with a touch, Tony Clarkin was not only one of those but a bona fide compser as well. He recently passed and it's absolutely unfair almost nobody has reacted to his band Magnum, one of the most underrated bands ever! Songs like "Don't Wake the Lion", "The Spirit" or "Kingdom of Madness" did a lot for the rock prog movement and their most hardrockin' side is undoubtedly enjoyable! Songs like "Just like an Arrow", "Midnight", "Heartbroke & Busted", "Start Talkin Love", "Days of No Trust" and "Vigilante" are clear examples of this.... And for the record, somebody well-known in the rock scene (who can be traced by the initials RT) produced their Vigilante album and you can hear him doing backing vocals in the songs "Sometime Love" and "When The World Comes Down". MAGNUM, a band totally worth giving a try. Long live Tony Clarkin!
Rick Parfitt....RIP...rythmn guitars & lead vocals on this song.
Hi Mr Rock and Roll! The members of Status Quo (in this video) are
Rhythm Guitar (Blonde hair)- Rick Parfitt
Lead Guitar (Short hair)- Francis Rossi
Bass Guitar- John “Rhino” Edwards
Keys- Andrew (Andy) Bown
Drums- Leon Cave
Rock and roll n you you must play that by status quo mr rock and roll ❤❤❤❤
I watched this again now and I liked it as much as ever, and your reaction is great, almost silent at the end and Rossis's solo goin on..! I'll see them live here in Sweden again next Sunday, probably my last one since -92 ( they getting older and Rossi going on his solo chat-tour next year).. Oh boy, the are really magic live! Herd is the studio version from 1972.. th-cam.com/video/M4ioVPCMmEM/w-d-xo.html
Bye bye Johnny is another banger
One of their best versions... love them
Great great this is one of status quo classic i love your reacting mr rock and roll but listen also too rock n you also whit status quo i prommis you mr rock and roll you gonna love it its a great rocker on the last year ylu wont be dissoponted i prommis you that i love your ra reacting mr rock and roll mvh larsa❤❤❤❤
First saw Quo 1970, countless times since, best live band out there. It's great that you really 'get' what Quo are about. 👍
It was the rhythm guitarist on lead vocals on this track.
There's so many great live versions of this song that it's hard to say which is the best. Of course, the album version is the, 'standard', by which all are based upon, so is well worth a listen just as a comparison. 'Roll Over Lay Down', is another great one to listen to. You could always do, 'Mystery Song', but do the album version, (not the single version), and the live versions just don't sound the same. That's one that should blow your socks off.
We want more
We want more lol
QuoOoOO!
Great reaction as always check out what your proposing
Look up the frantic four version.
1976 Quo Live at the Glasgow Appollo 45 Hundred Times is GOD
Oh and the singer in this video is Rick Parfait Ryhem guitarist 😅
Hey Man love your reactions, the Quo was my first live concert as a 14 yo, I think I saw them 3 or 4 times live.
So in the vain of Quo another band for you to head bang to is an up and coming young Oz band from down under West Aussie band called the Southern River Band, check out their tune "Stan Qualen" for starters.
Mr rock and roll keep the great songs going 👍😀🎸
Watch blue eyed lady live at Wembley 2013
Just joined your channel and absolutely love it, your reaction to the mighty Quo is priceless, no nonsense rock'n'roll Quo at there best , cheers from 🇦🇺🎸
Mr rock and roll you must play rock and roll nyou by status quo ❤❤❤❤❤
The one singing is Rick Parfitt on rytham guitar, Lead guitar is Francis Rossi, co founder. Original drummer is John Coghlan and original bass and founder member is Alan Lancaster. Unfortunately Rick and Alan are sadly passed away
4500 times please next ❤
According to some, older Quo fans, this was/is "lightweight" Quo! Certainly not as raw and heavy as the original "frantic four" but still awesome live. Those frantic four puritans certainly won't like you complimenting the piano parts! Oh, BTW, the singer there is the Rhythm guitarist, Rick Parfitt, widely regarded as one of the best rhythm guitarists ever. Absolutely love that you've fallen for my favourite band. America lost out thanks to dodgy promoters and radio stations
I love this guy how he loves status quo brilliant because that's how I feel about them they made so many great songs like is there a better way, 45 hundred times, Caroline, paper plane, many many more plus he plays the same guitar 🎸 1968 till now wow they are amazing I wish they would come to the usa play in Vegas.
Francis Rossi- Lead guitar- vocals, Rick Parfitt- rhythm and vocals!!
4500 times live end of the road will flip you out 😂
Love watching Americans react to Rock bands. They're always more rock than the artists themselves.
Right uniforms, right tee shirts, right hairstyles, right headbanging and ott actions.
Only problem is, there is NO rock band look.
Every band is different, Every member of every rock band is different.
Full marks for effort though!
Rock and Greatness
Rick Parfitt rhythm guitar (white Telecaster), Francis Rossi lead guitar (green Telecaster) John (Rhino) Edwards Status bass, Andy Bown keyboards, Leon Cave drums.
Loving your reactions man. In 1968 they released the song pictures of matchstick men and it was a top 20 hit in the USA, give it a listen it's totally different and you'll not expect it!! After that try down the dustpipe and in my chair from 1970. Give paper plane and don't waste my time filmed in the marquee club in 1972 a listen. There is some great footage of them in the 1970s and early 80s of the original lineup , that recorded all the classics .Search out Stafford bingley hall or live at the NEC 1982 .Thier live double album recorded in Glasgow at the famous Apollo in 1976 is a Stormer you'll love it!!!
Loving your videos dude, I was raised on this music. The first band I was ever in was a Status Quo cover band with my dad and his mates 😂 My dad is also loving your videos, he's been a Quo nut since the 70's. Please check out Status Quo Doing There Thing, its a tv studio gig they done way back in the early days there probably only 18 years old, its so gritty man, you'll love it, especially Is It Really Me/Gotta Go Home, a monster of a boogie track, keep rocking my dude 🤘🤘
the singer was rick parfitt he played rythm, francis rossi plays lead.
I miss Rick but as he said at the last years of his life, he would love to have played live as usual, but he Could have died on stage and wouldnt have that affect everybody after that, so he stopped playing live!
rick was an all time great rhythm guitarist r.i.p rick
i like this men (france)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 they got you again
Best band ever mystery song is wild
Rick Parfitt blonde hair Francis Rossi lead singer
MR.ROCKNROLLL
Have a look at the end of the road version of this one - blows you away.
Roll Over Lay Down next dude...
YAYYYYYYYYYYY🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
have a look at DR Feelgood, a British Rhythm and Blues band whose lead guitarist played lead and rhythm on the same guitar at the same time. His name was Wilko Johnson. sung to find are Roxette, 20 yards behind, walking the dog, and Going back home .
You would have been better watching Big Fat Mama from the End Of The Road tour video. There's an even older version filmed from Wembley. Stay away from the Midnight Special version.
Check out the promo video for Mystery Song.
Green/white, lead guitar, Francis Rossi, Brown/white slide is Rick Parfitt r.p., Andy Bown on keyboard, the rest is knew for me
John " rhino" Edwards bass and Leon Cave drums
Best Quo song
Rick Parfitt (blonde haired guitarist) is rhythm guitar.. unfortunately he died in 2016.
Mr rock n roll look for a live version of 4500 times by status quo
