This song makes me cry and be happy at the same time
Malaika nakupenda ❤️🧡.. proud of Swahili love from Kenya 🇰🇪
Hello sir, do you think you can help me find a song i heard in zanzibar?
@@fafalnx9950 what song?

I think this is one of their best performances...... their composure, outfits and all were simply awesome....... even by today's standard.
They will always remain one of the best groups ever!
Nakupenda malaika nami nifanyaje nashindwa na Mali sina we ningekuoa malaika
Yea. This is full playback dude.

You are so right. Honey M was my favorite disco in 80’s. Their outfits were out of the world. I still have the old records. This group brought me back great memories.

The voice of the man is not his own, but that of the producer Frank Farian, mind that. And the voice of Maizie Williams is not her own. The instrumentation and the whole performance is also not their work, sorry even the clothes ...so you have to thank the people who did the job in reality .
Malaika... One of the greatest 70s classics in Kenya. Its awesome
+Sam Mwao that's a kenyan language?
+Giusto Civile (skizofren) Yes...it is Swahili
Sam Mwao very nice
No it’s Tanzania, listen to makeba
@@HenricPelegric Makeba is not 100% correct...i like to call it a Kenyan/Tanzanian song. it was written by a Tanzanian and sang by a kenyan but i dont know how the two had met. here is the original recording by Fadhili Williams in kenya:

This is my favorite version of that song, the harmony got me... I love African identity of how they harmonize with their kind of instruments used...

I was born in Uganda, and my nanny used to sing this song when she was putting me to sleep. Years later, and it makes me cry every time I hear a version of this song. This song is still played by expelled Ugandan Asians to remind them of a place they once called home.
ugandan asians? i didnt know asians immigrated or deported in uganda
@microwaveman7414 In 1972, the then President Idi Amin, gave Asians/people of originating from India 90 days to leave the country. They were being expelled because they owned the majority of the wealth despite being a minority. A lot of Indian young men like my forefathers were taken to Uganda to build railways in the 1920s when the country was under British rule. Many workers eventually settled there. The community build up wealth over the years and some would send their children to India to study and qualify as doctors etc. My family was wealthy because they exported textiles. They left with a small suitcases of clothes and were considered refugees. The Ugandan military brutally searched people at airports to ensure no-one was fleeing with valuables such as jewellery etc. My family gave away their possessions to loyal staff who had worked for them. Most refugees ended up in the UK because they were born under British rule and so they did not have an automatic right to settle in India. They then Indian Prime Minister, Indira Ghandi, was adamant that Ugandan Asians were British citizens. Many families like mine started small businesses like corner shops. Indians who left Uganda have always been referred to as Ugandan Asians.

One of the most beautiful songs in the world and this version by loved Boney M. is amazing.
Its amazing to see an European disco group like Bonny M doing a song in Bantu language, that tells us that music is indeed universal language.
Leonard Antonio: Although Boney M lives in Europe, its members originate from the Caribbean.
This wonderful african music crossed the oceans and conquered the world through one of the principal musical groups in human history: Bonay M.

Tears of joy. Why cant they sing like this today.
because they don't SING! tell you what Boney M was KING of the Disco era. ABBA was in there too. Awesome dance music. Nothing even remotely close to this era today not even close!
Fake band. Nearly all voices were sung by Frank Farian and his computer. A German band just for show. Everybody knows this in Germany.
This is an East African classic...I never even knew Boney m did a cover of this 🔥🔥

Malaika = Angel
Malaika is a girl's name of Swahili origin. Sweet and soulful, this gorgeous name means "angel." Whether you want to celebrate your faith or ancestral heritage, Malaika is an excellent choice for your daughter. With Laika and Mal as endearing nickname options, your little one can make this name their own.
Malaika is another great song by Boney M, this time even in Swahili.
As you may know, Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett were the only ones who actually sang.
Bobby Farrel's voice was Frank Farian's.
Maizie William's voice could be that of Sheyla Bonnick, Madeleine Davis or Claudja Barry.
Im a filippino.. i dont understand the lyrics..but this music is is so enchanting
