It's movements seriously remind me of certain robots I've come across playing various video games. I think Fallout has a robots that walks kinda like it.
It is probably clever enough to be angry and display a smiling emoji.

Ability to turn legs and torso so the robot can turn 180 degrees without moving from site is very interesting (more than getting up from ground turning legs to the shoulders). Their long time background trying to make an hydraulic robot clearly clarified them the limitations of hydraulic so they are now taking profit of what electric actuators can do, like 360 turns. Amazing they are the first who notice that while other companies are building electric humanoid robots since long time ago.
The head doesn't really need a face, it can have the same thing on both sides or a 360 degree "face".

I noticed there are swivels on so many of the joints. The swivel just below the hip to allow it to change direction without "turning around" is amazing!

Androids usually refer to robots meant to look exactly like humans. For example animatronics can be considered early “androids”

"Android" means a robot that looks nearly identical to a human. Atlas is definitely not that. The term "android" has already suffered irreparable damage from the smart phone industry as it is.
Android also refers to one of Google's operating system.
Never understood why we make these robots limited by the way humans work, this made so much more sense

Good to see Boston Dynamics showing people how it's done. Let's ben honest, the Tesla robot and all others are hot garbage, and depressing to see how bad the state of robotics is, whereas Boston Dynamics robots have always been inspiring in how amazing they are.

Atlas HD had that human-like quality of the movements. Really likable robot and easy for eyes. It was already crossing uncanny valley for me.

This awakens us with the obvious idea that humanoid robots do not necessarily have to have the limitation of humans. But for the joints to move 360 angle, there must be a genius mechanism not to have the connecting wires entangled or perhaps there exists wireless communication for each joints to move freely. I wonder how it works.
Whenever I watch videos like this, my main thought is "where should I aim?"

Looks like it will be taking some excellent portraits with that ring light. ID shot as if in a studio! All that while you as the model can see how you look.
I think the new Atlas head reminds me of the Robot on the remake of Lost in Space. Maybe they will include some kind of lighting on the open face if and when it speaks or reacts to humans. Color of the ring around the face could also help to understand what it is currently processing and it's intentions.

The new electric Atlas is impressive in its progress and capabilities over the hydraulic Atlas, no doubt. I am not sure when the battery power capacity will allow Atlas to perform continuous useful tasks for 8 hours without stopping.

The funny thing is, to me, this robot seems more down to earth than Atlas, this supposedly creepy moves, are just likely the more energy efficient, it's logical.
"Excitement" should be the wrong response for a human in this situation. You would think that all the science fiction has taught us something, but alas, it seems humanity really embraces its demise...
