  • Are you bringing too much tackle out on your fishing trips?
    Sure, you may have everything you need, but it can often take forever searching through all your bags and boxes to try find the one thing you need.
    Sound familiar?
    In this video, I’m going to show you how I organize all of my fishing tackle into just a few small boxes that all fit in one bag.
    These boxes have everything I need and allow me to quickly find, replace, or put away whatever I’m using.
    Enjoy!
    Do you have any tips or hacks to organize your fishing tackle?
    Let me know in the comments below!

    I used to try and carry the kitchen sink. Switching to a lighter, context-appropriate kit is so much better.
    For example, instead of lugging around 20 extra weights, I've switched to carrying a reasonable number and restocking as needed. I've also taken to keeping hooks, jigheads in original packages and keeping them in the large compartment as seen here. Previously would dump every variety of hook into separate compartment... No need for 50 tangled hooks on every trip

      Yep I like to keep the hooks in their packaging. I will also combine the same hooks into one pack so I don't have 2 or 3 packs in there.

    Thanks for all the info. I’m starting to build a couple of boxes for saltwater only. This gave me a lot of tips on organizing.

    Great video. The ziplocks are a must I've been using them to organize soft plastics for a long time works great. It also give you a little bit of water resistance. I use to over pack when I would go on fishing trips now I keep it as simple as I can.

    Back in October I was in South Carolina fishing for trout. 18-23 inch trout were biting consistently and I was using 15lb seaguar blue label leader. Got bit off about 3 or 4 times. I need to try the Berkeley vanish.

      @The New Gandhi, Hey I fish North and South Carolina. What part of South Carolina where you fishing in?

    • @tonyacevedo3149

      Very interesting. I have used 15lb for reds and trout without any issues with break offs. Maybe some bluefish were in the mix?

    Your right you don't need a bunch off stuff. Simple like that a only bring one fishing rod and a little box

    I love those boxes but beware when you fly with them. I didn’t take notice until i opened them and my dividers warped lol

  • @pakde8002
    @pakde8002 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My tackle was getting so out of control that I separated everything into smaller boxes for specific types of fishing rather than lugging around all my tackle as 90% was not needed. For example if you're surf fishing for spots and whiting there's no need for anything other than a few weights and hooks. Same with sight casting for Redfish. There's some redundancy in this system and occasionally I wish I brought something else but usually I can carry all I need in my pants pocket (ok cargo pants) or a fanny pack along with my water bottle and power snacks (M&Ms). And all my unnecessary tackle isn't being continually exposed to the elements.

    • @tonyacevedo3149

    What is your take on combining different brand soft plastics all into one baggy? Bad idea?

    • @tonyacevedo3149
      @tonyacevedo3149 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that can be bad because colors will bleed into each other, and some plastics will react with others in the heat and melt together. I prefer to keep them in their original packages and just toss whatever I need to bring into a ziplock bag or binder for soft plastics.

    don't the hooks get dulled when loose in the box like that? Best to just leave them in the original packaging. which also makes them not fit in those little plastic containers. Regular tackle box is best.
