My son went in a few years ago. He graduated high school in June and was at Parris Island in August. He was not an athletic kid…..at all. The whole time he was there I was worried as can be. On top of the normal physical stress that the recruits experience, he also caught pneumonia (which I hear most everyone there catches). I was thinking the whole time, “OMG, he’s never gonna make it”, but he did, and I have so much pride and respect for what he achieved. Parris Island is definitely not summer camp, but once you’ve made it through, that’s something that no one could ever take away from you.
everyone makes it through boot camp unless you get kicked out. The DIs are trained to get you there even at if it's barely. If you don't swim qual.. go back one phase. break a leg... go back a phase or two. everyone needs to go in some kind of shape or you're going to have a bad time.
+ Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Amen 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!! The man in Luke 16:24 cries: ". . .I am tormented in this FLAME." In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." In Matthew 25:41, Jesus says: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting FIRE,. . ." Revelation 20:15 says, " And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE."
Could be worse. Some people got no one to call. But on the bright side, in case that persons without anyone to call bites the dust, there will be no deeply sad relatives/friends, although people love the idea that people mourn for them, which is sorta egoistic and weird. When someone is dead, he can't witness it anyway - but who would want to witness something like that?

Tips from a Marine Veteran. When Drill Instructor says, "SCREAM!" LITERALLY SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS. Not "Aye sir". Wake up an hour before lights. Find out who has duty at 3am have him wake you. Sometimes they don't, but get your shxt, shave, and peee at your leisure. Go to church, unwind. If you're not religious you should be for these 13 weeks. Trust me. If you're the scribe, be prepared to get some hate from a few guys. DO EVERYTHING FAST. Chow is lovely except when you're the last one to sit and have the shortest time to eat. Be organized and minimize clutter Try to find uniforms that actually fit for swim qual Don't be the one to get caught with peanut butter packets in their pocket. Anyone else wanna add??

My Son is going into phase 2 and I am so proud of him ❤I miss him everyday, I write him everyday
