What stands out to me is that the lyrics appear to be about them as a band over the years, pre-Tillian drama to where they are now (pre-recent events). Which makes the final "It's Heavy...Take A Beat" lines by Tillian all the more powerful in light of the recent events, and paired with those strings... Looking forward to the entire album big time!

The tapping guitar riffs on this song instantly reminded me of The Afterimage, who's crazy guitar parts undoubtedly had some Swan in them. Crazy to see it come full circle and shout out Brand of Sacrifice and Sam Jacobs.

the last 2 cds had me feel like I was missing something. This one has started to really grab me back in. This feels like where they should have explored post-mothership.
I IMPLORE you to dig into Afterburner more, deep cuts like Say Hi, Parody Catharsis, Parallels, Night Swat, Into the Sunset have so many great grooves, melodies and phenomenal guitar leads that sound so much better after many listened than they do on the first couple. I think Jackpot Juicer will be the greatest album since Tillian joined the band, but spend more time with their other records and you’ll find a lot to appreciate.

@@2000Doriyas I only knew 1 DGD song prior to this year (death of a strawberry) so the first album I listened to as a whole was Afterburner. The whole album helped me through a very difficult breakup. One in a Million, Lyrics Lie, Strawberry’s Wake, Nothing Shameful. Shit changed my life for the better because I haven’t had music inspire me as much as DGD has for me.
Jackpot juicer is so good, it got me to write music again. The love and care that was shown in the overall presentation is phenomenal . Thank you guys for creating so many special grooves and continuing to soldier on. Thank you, guys 🎰🍓🤖

@@cyrowarm4433 the groovier this album is, the more emotional I'm going to be. Celebrity deaths have never really 'hit home' for me-- until Tim. It's going to be bittersweet listening to the grooves but honestly, everything this band touches turns to gold so I'm looking forward to the release date for sure. Will Swan is a genius, and this band is easily one of the best of our generation.

So I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable on bands who were in the scene from 2005 onward. I've of course heard of dgd,seen their videos come across my feed over the years but for some reason I NEVER clicked and gave a listen. So this was the first song I finally clicked on and its breath taking. Been listening to them for the last 12 hours. What a gem. Anyone know who does their character artwork for the videos? Stuff is so great I can't wait to show my 7 year old

the last 2 cds had me feel like I was missing something. This one has started to really grab me back in. This feels like where they should have explored post-mothership.
I IMPLORE you to dig into Afterburner more, deep cuts like Say Hi, Parody Catharsis, Parallels, Night Swat, Into the Sunset have so many great grooves, melodies and phenomenal guitar leads that sound so much better after many listened than they do on the first couple. I think Jackpot Juicer will be the greatest album since Tillian joined the band, but spend more time with their other records and you’ll find a lot to appreciate.
@@2000Doriyas my problem is they fell into that rut. They figured out the dgd sound that would sell and it didn't necessarily sell to me. There are some tracks I'll still blast, but they had trouble toppling mothership
@@2000Doriyas I only knew 1 DGD song prior to this year (death of a strawberry) so the first album I listened to as a whole was Afterburner.
The whole album helped me through a very difficult breakup. One in a Million, Lyrics Lie, Strawberry’s Wake, Nothing Shameful. Shit changed my life for the better because I haven’t had music inspire me as much as DGD has for me.
These tracks just explode with the energy Mothership had! This album is going to be pristine!
