I'll give credit here, I haven't really liked any of Andrew's parts in the past.. his sound just never seemed to fit for me.. even on other songs on this album I could live w/o it, but both his screams and cleans on this song fit perfectly. I guess because it's more interplay between him and Jon/Tillian as opposed to just him sitting on an island by himself. Do more of this

No one talking about how deep the song itself hits during these trying times when everything is literal pvp rn. You gotta beat everyone else to succeed in life and it's not at all ideal. The song seems like a plea from someone who is tired of this rat race and just wants to be accepted as who they are and not what they have achieved. That's why 'One man's cringe is another man's tattoo', since success is subjective and different for everyone
I think the message of this song is that the pressure of trying to appeal to a people, or a way of life, or an interest in general can lead you into a conformist mindset where you have to fulfill that perception of yourself that you think other people see, and how easy it is to lose yourself, especially if that undertaking has a negative effect on you, as you know yourself. The last lyric "one man's cringe is another man's tattoo" speaks to me and has made me not only more understanding towards myself but everyone else struggling in the same way. I hope this won't be the last time i listen to a new DGD album that changes my perception and ultimately my life. DGD till I die
2:35-3:05 is literal sex to my ears. I've never heard anything with so much embrace. It just sounds like the definition of flawless...and the lyrics...ugh.
Jon makes this song very godly. I like how the upbeat/buildup goes well with Jon, and honestly it fits him well. I feel like Tilian covering the slower and chorus parts was an okay run. I feel like JJ Jon vocals are insane everywhere that it's its own tier on top of how good the soundtracks have been built :)
It’s wild how everyone if not just a good amount of people feel or hear this beautiful music and they get a epiphany. Every tear, every shout I just gotta get it out of me some how and one day soon hopefully I can use what I’ve learned and become stronger then I’ve ever been.
All I wanted was a blank page In a wide-open space and the one I love to come home to But I got caught up in the rat race Suddenly your embrace doesn't hit the mark like it used to
Yeah this record has really grown on me in the past 48hrs since it's release, I wholeheartedly enjoy more than half of this album, on repeat. Overall, the entire LP is a vibe, unique throughout. Very shoegazey, chill sections, all over majority of the tracks. Nuances to the MAX. P.S. this specific song is probably my #1 off this record. "Die Another Day" is a very very close 2nd.
@@dancegregorydance6933 I feel it, but there's no denying that they actually get pretty heavy on a lot of the tracks off this record, more towards the end of the songs, and that kind of heaviness and craziness really shines through and I'm digging it.
