Hey man, I come back to this game over and over again. Thanks for making something like this, the atmosphere and details you've put in make it all very heart-warming. As small as it is, there's something big going on. Don't stop making stuff man.

I find it amazing that Vinny stumbled onto the group in the parking garage watching earth TV and spontaneously came up with this story about how human things are banned. Games like this don't need a story, the atmosphere is so good you fill in your own based on what you see. Good atmosphere does so much for a game but its the one thing that seems to elude so many developers.
it's interesting how he STILL references bernband to this day... it really left an effect on him.
I still think of it, too tbh. it's really one of the best walking sims ever made

You know... This game would be amazing if it had multiplayer, but you couldn't tell the real players from the computer players. No communication. No talking. Just... Bernband.

This is actually a pretty interesting game. I like the minimalistic style the developer chose. It makes it fell... ya know, more alien like.

dude who cares, it's a thing and it's cool. Moreover, as digital culture continues to expand, we will inevitably see more interactive experiences like these, and 'game' is generally accepted as a catch-all term for them. language changes over time, terms become broader to suit the needs of an expanding culture. People who obsess over what is or is not a 'game' are missing the point.
I don't know why this game had such a profound effect on me. For some reason, out of all the streams I've seen live, this one is one of my most memorable.

I love games like this, where there isn't even a real objective but you wanna look around anyway because everything is so cool.

This is the game I always wind up playing when i'm alone and tired. For some reason it always calms me down. Fantastic atmosphere.

finally, something that is a game. This doesn't look like someone put together for shits and giggles or to be artsy fartsy like the other ones vinny played.

Best Walking Simulator
That was cool. I liked the bar with the music. And The cynical Judge Dredd like tone of the Scummy alleys at the bottom of an advanced industrial but Overcrowded world.
It does feel kind of unfinished to not have more game like things to do though. Or any sense of progression.
Its kind of just a place that your visiting. And maybe that's the pure intention. Totally directionless. And the low resolution pixelated style does force you to use your imagination. Something oddly nostalgic about it.
Kind of reminds me of the original system shock on PC or a dozen other things.
There's a part of me that wishes Prey 2 wasn't canceled. Even if it was a generic sci-fi shooter, I'd still go for that alien/cyber atmosphere that was presented in the trailers.

Actually Vinny, they're starting to let up on the ban on Earth stuff. Mostly on Japanese stuff 'cause it seems normal to them.
Which explains why Japan is so weird to the rest of Earth.
I rewatch this at least once a year, no game has ever captured living in an alien apartment building as well as this game. Wish the creator made more of it

I know I'm super late to this... But Yume Nikki is a great one. Most of the places are kind of creepy, but there are some really atmospheric and cool ones, too. You can also pick up a couple dozen costumes that actually affect different things, and you can unlock an "ending" if you get all the costumes. Hope that helps! :)
