I am a big fan of hot springs and as a reminder for those that would like to visit the hot springs during the winter season, please bring snow chains if you do not have a 4wd vehicle...the one our TH-camr Gabriela went to is "buckeye". Also it's recommended that you go from the front entrance instead of the back where the campsite start due to the iciness of the ground. I had to pull 2 vehicles out because they were not prepared. Wild Willy is my personal favorite of the big 3 due to the scenery. Go in the morning before sunrise and just lay back and enjoy the sun, steam and view. Snow chain also recommended! There are other natural hot springs but they require that you hike in and it's a good hike in but the silence is phenomenal since very very little people where they are located at.
Thanks so much for this!! Yes, you are right, the one in this video is Buckeye and we arrived right after sunrise and had it to ourselves! I would recommend this time as well. I drove the dirt road with my Jetta before it snowed, but the road is definitely dicey when there is snow on it. I haven't done Wild Willys but I have been on that road that leads to the hot springs and it is gorgeous!
Our family went up almost every year and we were not skiers. We used toboggans, inner tubes, and saucers at a place I think off the Pioneer trail. Also remember renting a snowmobile at Squaw valley.
Hii gabriella what part are good to visitin if im gonna stay in harras ,? Some places that you show here are close to the hotel or how far are in carr. ?
Thanks for the informative video! I'm planning to go to South Lake Tahoe this first week of March. How's driving over there like? I'm coming from Sacramento. Do I need snow tires or chains? TY
that is true, at the time of making this I hadnt skied since i was little, got back out there this past winter and it was so much fun, I wish I had done it sooner...but you can still enjoy tahoe in the winter even if you dont ski 😊
Good video, kiddo.... thanks for the ideas. Wife an I are headed that way (hopefully) this Thanksgiving. Love Tahoe and it's spectacular view and beauty. Plus, didnt know they had snowmobiling up there something I'll look up because I LOVE TO SNOWMOBILE that's hella fun...
Hey Gabriella! 😃 I watched this video and I wanted to do paddle boarding but I couldn’t find a place to rent because it’s not the season 😕 do you know about a place where I can rent the board?
Yes you are right about that. A lot of people who do this in the winter bring their own or have their own. I use an inflatable one which is less expensive and good for roadtrip type of travel. Most of the rental places rent May through Oct but There may be a few that rent year round
Hi, i am visiting with parents who cant ski but enjoy snowplay, but we wana ski with kids at the same time with beginner level. Which resort allow cheap skiing for beginners and at the same time some activity for elderly? My stay is in south tahoe
Hello, I actually don't ski (which I know is funny since I live in Tahoe) so I might not be the best to ask, but as far as I know, Heavenly has beginner hills...and as far as price, the locals go to *Sierra at Tahoe* and *Kirkwood* because it's less touristy and cheaper..
As far as Yosemite, its not a great time for waterfalls as most of them are dried up but there's not to many people in the park so that's always nice....In Tahoe it can start snowing as early as Sept and yes Thanksgiving can get alot of snow but it all depends on the year
My daughter and I are skiing at Heavenly in February but will have some extra days to explore the area. Thanks for all of the suggestions, they all look amazing!
@@commonsense8800 Yall so lucky. We were going around my Brothers work schedule because he is a boat captain. And he said February that he had off, but now he swears he said March 17th. Have fun guys
they are all over chickadee ridge ...just google map tahoe meadows or chickadee ridge and walk onto the trails...sometimes they come out but sometimes they dont..it helps to have sunflower seeds
hidden beach and sand harbor are right near each other so you can do those in easily in one day...emerald bay is on the south west shore so the other side of the lake...you can do them all in one day..but i would split them up so your not rushed in you can ..
Great Video! Thanks! Could you please reply to this comment with the exact location with this hot springs location from your video? It looks amazing. Thank you!
I found this online: "You'll find flat areas to snowshoe at Pope, Kiva, and Baldwin Beaches, as well Camp Richardson (no pets, trail pass required), Tallac Historic Site, Fallen Leaf Lake Campground, Taylor Creek Visitor Area, and Taylor Creek Sno-Park (permit required)."
@@GabriellaViola Tallac Historic Site has lots of cool cabin-like buildings that would sure make for an interesting adventure and it's also right next to a beach.
Your right I don't think I listed the addresses in this video, but I have listed most of these spots in a few of my blog posts and how to get there! Here's the link if it might help! www.gabriellaviola.com/blog
How about just staying inside making and lighting a gigantic fire in a fireplace spreading out a rug and simply make love in front of the fireplace all night sounds kind of epic to me
Nice video but I have to ask that you please not show yourself feeding wildlife birds. For those unaware, please DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE with BREAD or other human processed food products. You will disrupt their natural food scavenging abilities and will make them increasingly reliant on humans as food sources. And not to mention it is just not good for them. DO NOT FEED THE BIRDS!

How did you get the Chickadees to perch on your hand? Is there a bait you recommend?
They will fly up to you and land on you with no food but you can also use breadcrumbs ..I heard they like sunflower seeds but I haven’t tried it!
@@GabriellaViola Ok, I'll bring both breadcrumbs and sunflower seeds to see which one gets a better reception. Thanks for the video.

too short
We will have a trip to Lake Tahoe on March 10-15. Are the activities you’ve recommended still good for March?
Yes they are great for March!! For all year round really
The hikes all great for all year round and the snow activities are usually good till end of March early April depending on the year and the snow fall
