Today we are going on a South Lake Tahoe FOOD TOUR where we find out what to eat in Lake Tahoe! I recently spent a weekend there and tried so many foods like pizza, boba, sandwiches, gelato, empanadas, donuts, Indian food, and more! I use to work at Tahoe Bear and the drinks were never top tier. They are honestly pretty pricey for what they are. If you were to go again however I would recommend getting a snow smoothie (specifically the mango one). There is also another boba shop called Tea Zen Tea which seems to have better liking to it by Tahoe locals. Also for food if you like burgers I would definitely recommend trying Big Daddy’s Burgers!

The naked fish has the best sushi. It’s probably the best place to eat in all of South Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend!

Please try Boba from TV Donuts. It's a bit further from Heavenly about 7mins but well worth it! I've lived in many major cities and have had boba in all of those cities but by far TV Donuts is the best! They are always consistent with their tapioca balls and flavor profiles! You won't regret it! 😃

Turkish coffee is quite bitter, but if you drink it while eating some good quality chocolate the bitterness of the coffee brings out the fruitiness of the chocolate. I'm not really a coffee drinker, but it is such a unique way to experience other flavors. I love it!

Next time you head out that way, you should hit Ikeda’s in Auburn! They have bomb ass pies and fruit freezes! Not to mention the banana shake!

I moved here back in June 6th. Been working at Heavenly Ski Resort for the summer & got another job so I could get an apartment. I haven’t had time to really explore all the food places out here, so I’m glad I found your video!
I grew up down the mountain from Tahoe and live in South Lake during the summers. It's a special spot for me and you can definitely get some good eats! Loved watching this while feeling a little homesick.

Ahhhh I used to live in South Lake Tahoe 😍 I used to work at the Marriott next to the gondola. You went to some great places! Base camp is definitely overrated. The only way to go there is to wait for a spot to open up in the bar area on the right side. I recommend you go back to Artemis for dinner and get the gnocchi with chicken. It’s what dreams are made of 😭 TV donuts at the Y are hands down the best donuts in SLT! Glazed and Confused is great for pictures, but TV donuts are unreal! Also, you neeeeed to go to Red Hut for breakfast. The Rosti and The Usual are famous fr. Last, MacDuff’s is a local spot with great pub food.

She spent the entire time at Stateline. Missed out on a ton of actual Tahoe. South Shore has way more to see

I would drive 7 hours round trip just to eat at Himmel Haus. Last time I went, I got the chicken schnitzel with the gravy on top and subbed the mash potatoes for cheesey spatzel for a small up charge. Also, they had a special of elk sausage that day. Omg. The whole meal was positively life changing and made me feel like I was in Bavaria.
Next time you should really visit Sugar Pine Bakery for their cinnamon rolls and other yummy baked goods, Keys Cafe for some breakfast eats, smoothies and açaí bowls, or Fire Sign Cafe too. You’ll really like those local favorites!
West Shore = Best Shore!!! My parents have a vacation house in Tahoma, and no trip there is complete without a breakfast at Fire Sign Cafe.
Love Tahoe. Lived there for 10 years! But amazing food is hard to come by there unfortunately. I am really glad you tried Sprouts! I miss their spinach rice bowls!! Just be sure to ask for extra salsa ;)

My parents use to have a vacation home back in the day. The food scene must-have changed a lot. They had a lot of buffets, I remember this Swedish restaurant the main strip. It's been a very long time since I've been to Tahoe!

My family once went to south lake Tahoe years ago when I was a teenager because we had won a free cabin from a walk to cure ALS and my family ate at the German restaurant. Anytime my family goes on a trip and there happens to be a German restaurant we will eat there because of my mom being half German

Omg! Just came back from Tahoe a couple days ago and could have def used these recommendations, everything looked so good! Definitely gonna have to go back soon and give these a try.
Next time you go, I REEEEEEALLY recommend Bite American Tapas in Incline Village for a nice date spot dinner but make sure to book a reservation cuz they fill up fast. And Also. The Getaway Cafe in Meyers! About a 30 min drive but so worth it! They got best breakfast in Tahoe multiple times a year.

I was just in Tahoe a few weeks ago too! Definitely recommend Ernie’s for breakfast and Scusa for pasta (specifically for their lobster ravioli!!). Ernie’s has a spot across the street and down the way called Bert’s 😂

I was at South Lake last summer with my family. Always try to go once a year. Love that Lake. Next time goto Mr. P Taphouse same side as Harvey’s. The food is good. We ate outside. Plus they have live band and nice bar inside. For Pizza I go to Blue Dog Pizza near Raleys supermarket. Same plaza at the end. Thanks for doing review. We tried to goto pizza place you reviewed it was long wait.

Mei Mei - you should stay at our Geodesic Dome house next time you’re in Tahoe. We’re not big fans of the Sprouts sandwiches but you have to try Thai Place next time!

Thanks for this review. We spend Thanksgiving every year in Tahoe. Our favorite place to eat was The Forest Buffet on the 18th floor at Harrah's but unfortunately it closed during Covid and never reopened. We will try the pizza place for sure.
Yes. I miss the Forest Buffet. I’m sad they closed. Enjoyed the Seafood and Filot Minon. Plus there Desert area.

I love Basecamp! Their ravioli with Bolognese sauce is THE best thing. My bf and I prefer the appetizers over the pizza.
you should try the teazen tea boba place across from heavenly village! i went there everyday when I was in tahoe. its really good

Don't forget Izzys Burger Spa also. I heard it's the same owner as Big daddy's not 100 percent sure though. Also just across the street from Base camp and heavenly is Blue Dog Pizza. They have great food.
