I always sadly look at my friends while swimming and when they are lowkey stopping in the middle of the exercise every time and still being faster than me, makes me kinda frustrated, so now beacuse you said us to not care about what others do now i will swim for just myself :)
I always swim worse at meets than at practices. Nerves. The only time I do well is at 3 day meets. Friday - off the chart anxious. Saturday - still anxious but not as bad as Friday. Sunday - FUN!!! No nerves, just fun!
