Any exercise event that lasts over about an hour requires carbohydrate replacement. Drinking water alone, more so for longer swim events also is not sufficient. You need electrolytes, and the #1 electrolyte need is salt/sodium. This is the most common problem and/or cause of cramping both during and after workouts. The carbonated tabs are the newest thing for sports, and the carbonation makes the drink 'thinner' than water so it gets into your system much faster than thicker products like most of the commercial sports drinks. I prefer the ones from Precision Hydration where I can choose my sodium levels since I am a very heavy sweater. Nuun and Fizz are two others, but they don't have enough sodium for me.
What I use to eat and drink before a session, is hot water and flakes (no sugar) several hours before my workout. A piece of bread untill one hour before, one more cup of water and ready to jump in the pool!!
Hi ,can u tell the reason why I get very very slow, tired and breathless after swimming only for 4-5 rounds? Is it because that I EAT my food quickly before going for my session?and....what to do for it?
Hey there! Eating food quickly and not giving it time to digest properly may result in some stomach discomfort during your workout, but it most likely is not the reason you're feeling tired! We recommend following a structured workout plan that helps you increase your distance and intensity over time to build endurance and fitness! Check out the MySwimPro app for workouts!

TYWILL IAMS LOVES 👍
I can’t swim on a full stomach. Staying hydrated is good enough.
As long as you're fueling, that's ok! Glad you've found something that works for you, Kerry :)
