I love seeing drives on the high Alpine passes. Our mountains are much smaller in Scotland. The highest mountain where I live is 1011m but the walk / climb up starts from sea level (it looks a bit like @27:40 in your video. We do have some single track roads with passing places, forestry roads and dam roads. Do people in Switzerland not give a wave, or a nod or acknowledge one another in some other way, as they pull over to pass one another on these narrow roads?
I loved all those wee shielings (summer pasture cottages) which looked quite ola with some of them being restored. Just lovely. I will probably never visit the Swiss Alps so thank you for taking me on these beautiful journeys.

This heart-stopping drive through Maggiatal had my adrenaline soaring! The twists and turns on that narrow, winding road carved through the Swiss Alps were breathtaking. I could almost feel the rush of the cool mountain air just watching it. The picturesque scenery alongside the Maggia river took my breath away, yet the sheer drop-offs made my heart race. A true white-knuckle adventure in one of Switzerland's most dramatic landscapes! 🏔🚗✨

Like the return trip. I wonder how many round trips per day the material delivery drivers for the dams complexes where expected to do in a day? There are quarries for some materials in the lower valley and in the days of building there was still the railway half way up the valley for cement. Also at the time of building of Lago del Sambuco 1956 and the Lago del Naret complex is dated at 1970 for construction would mean the trucks used are before the turbo diesel era. So you have low power and probably drum brakes, however if cableways where used (now removed) it would be a little easier.

Is this road (the white-knuckle part) open throughout Winter? Just curious since it is an academic question. No way would you find me on it.
